on the top of the screen when touch and swipe unlocking there is a msg saying 'swipe screen to unlock' always there any way of getting rid of it?
also how do you go back to gingerbread, considering it.
I set a screen lock code today and used it several time with no problems. Tonight the unlock screen shows 'Enter Password to Unlock' but when I enter the pin code, it will not unlock.

I was wondering who will supply my update? I cannot find anything that relates to my phone. There is an reference to Orange. Will it come via Orange and if so will it be filled with Orange bloatware? which I do not want or will it come via a different route such as Europe/Poland etc...
i know android are going to update all us s2 users with ICS round about march time so ive heard from a few sites so what i was wondering how will the update happen?
will i have to do a update from my laptop or will it be directly from the updates on my phone ?
after failing miserably with kies to try and get update for ICS (kept telling me there was update but taking hours and then timing out)I finally received the ota update (network vodafone spain) but because I was using packet data at the time I thought I would wait till I got home and use wifi,it give me the option of postponing for a hour. When I got home no update tried forcing the update on keypad and constantly checking for update. Nothing, no update available. all day now I have been trying but no joy.

All went well except that now I can't see my contact pictures in third party applications. My contacts are all linked to Facebook so their pictures are all set to their Facebook profile pictures. Before the update, applications such as whatsapp and Handcent SMS automatically sync this information and the contact name and picture will be displayed. Now only the stock applications can display contact name and picture not any downloaded application.

View 4 Replies View Relatedmy brother has an S2 with out-of-the-box, custom ROM, not ever flashed or rooted, etc. He has just been told he has to work in Spain for the forseeable futre but wants to come home at weekends. He also wants to keep his S2.
If he roots and flashes his phone, will he be able to buy a Spanish SIM from any Spanish network for use in Spain, and just replace it with his own SIM when he comes back here? In other words, does a root and flash of a phone make it fully internationally unlocked so that he doesn't get any extra charges from either Spanish or UK networks?

I have requested, and received an unlock code for my S2, which I plan to sell, however, the instructions say: "Insert another network active sim in the handset. This should ask for a code. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo as things are perfect and smiley in the world, the way to make your day complete is to drop your brand new samsung galaxy s2 from a pathetically small height and watch as the whole screen shatters to bits. Enough to put anyone in a great mood.Fixing the screen isn't the problem though. 02 have agreed to fix it for me, for a small fee, but they have confirmed that the whole phone will be flashed before hand. This is not good. I have a lot of memories on the phone that i would like back.I have connected the phone to samsung keis, however, since the screen locked, the dam thing won't let me in to my own data. Understandably this is to ensure absolutle security to your sh** but I can't help wondering why samsung didn't install an option that allows you to unlock the phone from your computer. really need some help figuring out how I can get my sh** back. If anyone knows how to bypass the screen lock or just refresh it. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I'm not in a great rush since my mum refuses to pay for the fix. and it'll take me a few weeks to save up.i can't unlock the phone because i can't see the screen and i think the touch pad is bust as well.

Samsung GS5 with Android 5.0.
When I unlock my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F, Android 5.0, kernel 3.4.0-4854135) a metallic sound can be heard. It's not the ordinary sound that can be disabled/enabled in Sounds and notifications -> Other -> Screen lock sound. I've tried to check and uncheck that option, which adds a "clicking" sound (not a one that I want), so that option seems to be working.
Extremely annoying that the unlocking sound cannot be removed anywhere in the phones Settings.Also, when I'm talking to someone on the phone, sometimes a watery, notification type of sound can be heard, but when looking at the phones display, nothing has happened that one should be notified about.
Is there any possible way to undo this? I realize this is added security, but I really would like to go back to using a pattern to unlock?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had issues with my lock screen. I have it set for finger print.....but every time I turn the screen on, it goes back to swipe. Odd thing is that in the settings, it still shows fingerprint. Am I missing something ? When I put it on pattern though, it has no issues , and always has the pattern every time I turn e screen on.
