View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had issues with my lock screen. I have it set for finger print.....but every time I turn the screen on, it goes back to swipe. Odd thing is that in the settings, it still shows fingerprint. Am I missing something ? When I put it on pattern though, it has no issues , and always has the pattern every time I turn e screen on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a thread about this a while ago but I'm wondering if there's an app to solve this. On the nexus 4 you could make it so when you wake up the phone it requires no unlock but if you sleep it for (whatever you set the time for) it will then lock to the chosen security type.
Is there an app that can allow this to happen without having to just remove a lock feature which I'd rather not do? To simulate what i mean for some reason if you do a Google search bar search then then lock the phone and unlock it again you'll see it doesn't have you swipe for some reason.
I am having issue where phone will not come out of lock screen. Buttons light but screen stays black. I can reboot and use phone so I know it is not hardware. I can still blindly touch screen and maybe get past lock but stays black til I reboot.

View 24 Replies View RelatedRecently an application requested me to download "NBA game time" to use an additional feature. I opted out of downloading it. But I have noticed that since then 3 out of 5 times I unlock my phone it unlocks to the NBA game time app page in the play store. I now don't remember which app suggested this download. So I assume it was the sports center app but can't find anything that would keep triggering this issue. I even download the app and deleted to see if it would stop but to no success...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where the touch screen seems to be unresponsive for a short time after unlock. For instance, if I unlock the phone via fingerprint, pattern, or slide the first touch doesn't respond and I have to tap whatever app or item I am trying to use. I'm using Cataclysm ROM with the most recent ElementalX kernel. Maybe it's a ROM/Kernel thing and I should try stock but just wanted to ask here.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy screen turns off every time I use the power button to turn it on and then place my finger to unlock it, I then need to turn it on again and unlock it. This happened almost every time I open it, usually I need to unlock it again after it turns off but sometimes when I turn on the screen the phone is already unlocked.

My only problem right now is that I'm not a Fan of the image that is displayed when you bring up the lock screen.
Is there a way that you can change that image to something else more my style?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an S5 Active but it is the same in most instances so I thought I might ask here where it will likely be seen by more folks. Is there a way to extend the time out on the swipe lock screen? I would like to add a second or two so it doesn't black out quite so quickly.

I have searched a while on Internet. The solution found couldn't work for me. The screen of their pages look different.
My finger prints are damaged with callus and the screen won't read them. I want to disable and go back to a simpler system.
Samsung GS5 with Android 5.0.
When I unlock my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F, Android 5.0, kernel 3.4.0-4854135) a metallic sound can be heard. It's not the ordinary sound that can be disabled/enabled in Sounds and notifications -> Other -> Screen lock sound. I've tried to check and uncheck that option, which adds a "clicking" sound (not a one that I want), so that option seems to be working.
Extremely annoying that the unlocking sound cannot be removed anywhere in the phones Settings. Also, when I'm talking to someone on the phone, sometimes a watery, notification type of sound can be heard, but when looking at the phones display, nothing has happened that one should be notified about.
Is there any possible way to undo this? I realize this is added security, but I really would like to go back to using a pattern to unlock?

I know it uses up battery time, but is it possible to over-ride the screen time-out? The longest time option on the menu seems to be 10 minutes, but eg when using GPS in the car - especially when the car charger is attached - over-ride this 10 minute limit.

View 10 Replies View RelatedAs a rule I like my screen to time out after a minute of inactivity. When the phone drops below 30% of power, however, power saving mode kicks in and this changes to 15 seconds. The problem is, that after I plug the phone in - and thus cancel power saving mode - it sticks at 15s timeout instead of reverting to my 1minute setting?

Upgraded to Lollipop at the weekend so i'm assuming a bug related to the update.
I've been reading ways to save battery and one of them was to turn off that annoying "popping colors" when I unlock my screen. Says to go to setting>lock screen>unlock effect...Problem is that unlock effect is not there! I'm on AT&T and my friend is on Sprint and she has it in her settings. Is it an AT&T thing or a glitch on my phone?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a 6 month old Galaxy S5 on Verizon, and in the past month I've had a problem where I will press the home button to turn the screen on and there will be a delay of up to 4 seconds before the screen lights up and I can unlock. Oftentimes, the delay is so long that the phone turns the screen back off from inactivity a split second after it finally comes on.
If I am actively using the phone, and then turn the screen off and right back on, there is no delay. It's only after turning back on after several minutes of inactivity (which is most of the time). It's almost as if the phone has put itself to sleep and is taking a long time to wake.I am on Android 4.4.4. If it matters, I also get the camera-daemon battery suck issue from time to time.
if you have an ecrypted Samsung Galaxy S5 you already know that once you've encrypted it your only option for a screen lock is to enter a secure password. This gets annoying fast. When you want to access your phone quickly on the go it can be difficult to unlock it with any speed. Well I've come up with a way to get past the password lock screen with the same speed as a password and consistently quicker than the finger print scanner unlock.
What I've done and I've included on how to do it yourself instructions below. I've set my password to be one of my hot key options on my Samsung keyboard. I've also shortened my delay for the long press but how to do that isnt included here. (hopefully with screen shots we'll see first time attempt at posting pics here)
Doing this will allow you to quickly get by your lock screen and still have an encrypted device.
**NOTE** This is not a substitute to remember your password. Know it regardless of this being setup or not.
**NOTE** If you have auto space turned on (factory default setting) you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the added space or you will receive an incorrect password error message.
Here's how to do it:
1. Enter the pull down menu and click settings.
2. Tap Language & Input.
3. Now click on the samsung keyboard settings icon.
4. Next if turn on the my hot keys icon.
5. Enter your password under any number to long press to have it typed.
*Don't forget if you have auto space on you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the space or your password will not work.
how to increase the time it takes for the screen to turn off when you are at the lockscreen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedScreen randomly turns on and refuses to go off unless you press the power button?
My S6 is on 5.0.2 (No 5.1.1 for the international S6 yet) and this happens when there's no charger plugged in and no new notification. No case on it or anything pressing against the power button. Its definitely a software related bug. It happens randomly maybe twice or thrice a day but I've only noticed it in the past 2 days. Its happened almost 10 times so far including thrice in the past 4 hours.
My main concern is screen burn on the Amoled (happened to one of my Lumia's and the huge battery drain if I don't notice that its turned on.
I have yet to find a way to increase the lock screen display time. Lollipop 5.0
