Galaxy S6 :: Set Fingerprint To Unlock But Need Swipe To Unlock
Apr 30, 2015
I have my phone set to fingerprint unlock but it says to swipe to unlock. Only after I restart it it asks for my fingerprint. I want it to stay fingerprint to unlock.
I have been using fingerprint unlock on my s6 with no problems since I got it. Starting today it forces me to swipe up first then I can unlock with my fingerprint.
Before I accidentally reset my phone the fingerprint unlock work good and fast. Sometimes it wouldn't read my fingerprint but it opened fast when it did. Now after the reset it reads my finger well but take 5 to 7 seconds to unlock the phone.
I have the Galaxy s6. I have the fingerprint screen unlock enabled. But the majority of the time I have to swipe and THEN fingerprint unlock or just swipe to completely unlock it. Which isn't very secure. How can I get rid of the swipe to open feature competely, I want only my fingerprint to be able to unlock it.
I'm new to Android in general. Have had an iPhone, but owned a Nexus tablet. I overall loved the Android experience on my tablet and got a Galaxy S6 as a phone.
I'm trying to customize my Galaxy S6 lockscreen, and I've run into some issues. I've tried a number of apps to customize the lockscreen, but I cannot find any with a fingerprint unlocking method. Also I would prefer it have an option for multiple fingerprints, but it is not needed. Also, I would like if I could have widgets on there for free.
I was "playing" with my phone and first tried the fingerprint, which i had trouble getting in after that. Then i tried the 4 digit code. I went back in to change it back to swipe but it is no longer an option. It says it is turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. Not sure what I did, but I need getting swipe back. Should have been working instead of playing anyhow...
I can't seem unlock my device using fingerprint or backup password. The fingerprint animation isn't playing and doesn't recognise that I am swiping the home button.I have tried entering the backup password and it says I have entered it incorrectly when I am for certain entered it correctly.Changing keyboards doesn't fix this. Restarting the phone and removing the battery and SD card does not fix this.
I have previously registered for the Google Device Manager and have tried locking my phone, but that doesn't seem to work. Do I need to have an Internet connection or GPS on my phone to do that? If so, I can't connect to the internet or activate GPS due to it being locked. Is there any way around this?
I really don't want to factory reset my phone unless it's the only last option I have. And I have contacted Samsung support regarding this and am waiting for a reply. I will update if they have replied to my message.
Is it me or is "Swipe to unlock" rather slow as missing tap to unlock already?Prefer not to use spring loaded "lock-key" as probably first component to fail!f I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would
I have been using a new S6 for a couple of days and have stored my two thumbprints to unlock. To test that it was working I asked my friend to see if they could unlock it. To my horror the phone unlocked on their thumbprint. We tried this reperatedly - a short tap to bring up the 'Keep your finger on the Home key a little longer" message, followed by a normal tap, and the phone unlocks every time.Is this a software or hardware defect?
My galaxy s5 phone is locked with a fingerprint swipe but has for some reason i can now only unlock with an alternative password which i have not set up to my knowledge. How do i unlock my phone?
so I've had my Galaxy S6 and the fingerprint sensor has always worked fine. Yesterday it worked great all day long at work, then when I got home, it wouldn't work at all. I rebooted and still it wouldn't work, I cleared cache and data, did the hardware test, and it passed. It still didn't work, so I erased the fingerprints, and retrained my right thumbprint only. Now it seems to unlock with any finger of anybody! As long as they touch lightly, it unlocks about 90 percent of the time.
I really like using the fingerprint scanner on my S5 with Lollipop to unlock the phone. But what I don't understand is that I have to swipe to unlock which activates the fingerprint scanner and then I have to scan. Why can't I just hit the home or power button and be taken directly to the fingerprint scanner?
Lg g3 screen is acting up the screen will not unlock it like doesnt recognize i am swipimg my finger across it. This means i can not acess into my phone.
Was using the phone. Put phone down as I did not need to use it. Returned to use the phone and 5S will not swipe to unlock. Tried to shut it off and and first it would not do that as well. Tried again and kept my finger on the power button and the phone reset.  Why will the 5S not swipe to unlock?
I set a screen lock code today and used it several time with no problems. Tonight the unlock screen shows 'Enter Password to Unlock' but when I enter the pin code, it will not unlock.
how to remove the awful offensive-looking 'nokia green' swipe to unlock facility following my firmware upgrade?
I have only just purchased the phone this week, and chose it mainly on looks - I just use a mobile for texting and calls, so I go for a basic phone with good looks.
Because of some initial problems with the software I was advised to update the firmware, but on no account did I ask for this horrible green swipe thing! I just want my inoffensive little grey unlock button back!
Is there an option in my phone somewhere to change back, or do I have to reverse the upgrade or something?I just want it back looking how it looked when I tried it before buying, as that's why I bought it
When my new z3 is locked, I frequently have trouble swiping to unlock the phone. When I try to swipe, I get the nice psychedelic particle trail showing the swipe, but often the phone does not unlock. It can take 3 or 4 attempts to get the darn thing to unlock. It is bad enough that I worry that the phone will simply not unlock no matter how many attempts. Very very irritating. I write firmware for a living. This is a serious bug.
the screen won't swipe to unlock. How to fix? Can I hard reset? I bought this 5C used from Swappa about 2 months ago. was advertised as "New Screen" - and the screen did look new. Worked great, everything was fine till a few days ago. Now the screen will not rregister the swipe to unlock. I have rebooted the phone by holding the top power button and home button. Phone boots ok, shows messages on lock screen, alarms go off, seems normal, except, the swipe will not swipe. it acts like you are not touching it. Also, about the same time the swipe stopped working , the screen started showing vertical banding..My thought are maybe one of two issues -
1 my son downloaded a bad app, and it locked the phone up. factory wipe should fix this. But itunes won't let me restore the phone unless I turn off "Find my Iphone", which requires I unlock the phone... dead end.Â
2 - I am also think, because of the banding, the "new" screen may be bad. Sound plausible? Â
he does not have a lot of stuff loaded on the phone, so I would like to try a reset before paying $175 for a new screen - that would not fix it if the issue is software. How can I reset the phone?
I am having issue where phone will not come out of lock screen. Buttons light but screen stays black. I can reboot and use phone so I know it is not hardware. I can still blindly touch screen and maybe get past lock but stays black til I reboot.
I use the iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2. When I unlock the phone with my finger print, there is an animation where the icons move from the edges towards the center of the screen. After this animation is done, I have to wait approximately an entire second before I can swipe left/right on the touch screen in order to get to the apps on the other screens. Simple 'quick' tasks such as checking on emails will take far longer.
