View 1 RepliesI have an s6 and the factory installed 4x1 clock/weather app no longer works. The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI found a peculiar issue. I found that the weather widget would not update even if I set the refresh interval at an hour or did a manual update. I played with the 3 location settings (high accuracy, power savings, and GPS only) that are new with Kit Kat. I found that none of them worked unless I had my wifi enabled. It did not have to be connected, just enabled. As soon as I enabled wifi it would refresh with no issues.
I disable my wifi when away from my house to save battery, it looks like I won't be able to do this anymore if I want location services to work correctly. I also found that this was impacting my llama application (location specific phone settings).
I have an issue with the HTC stock weather/clock widget. The weather portion will update for a while and stops after about 6 hours. A reboot will fix the problem for about 6 hours. I have the weather app scheduled to update every hour. The same thing also happens with my Beweather widget.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently traveled overseas and had the weather widget on my homescreen. It updated sucessfully via wifi while I was there. When I've returned to the states, however, my widget still says the foreign city, the dates for the weather are the dates of my travel and it won't update.
In addition, if I try to add any city, it says "Can't add new city now. Try again later." This happens over both the data connection and wifi. I've done everything but a factory reset, including rebooting and removing & re-adding the widget.
Anyone else having trouble with the date on the widget not updating to the current day?
View 15 Replies View RelatedThe stock Motorola Widgets/Weather widget has taken a nosedive since the OTA Gingerbread update hit my Droid X. The stock widget uses Accuweather.com data and it always previously behaved correctly with Froyo.
The problem I'm facing is that even though the Current Location/Show current location on widget green box is checked, the "current location" doesn't automatically update as I travel from town to town, as it used to do with Froyo.
I have the Settings/Location & security/Google location services green box checked. I have the Settings/Location & security/Standalone GPS services and VZW location services grey boxes unchecked.
I have discovered that the list of email messages in the corporate email widget stops updating shortly after a reboot. It continues to display a static list of messages. If I tap the widget to open email, I find many new, more recent, messages in my inbox.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the tasks widget on one of my homescreens and it would be great if it worked properly. Anything I create a tasks, it doesn't show up in the widget unless I go to the widget settings and change which tasks are viewed (I normally leave it on all tasks). If I complete a tasks and it was in the widget, it's not removed from the widget unless I manually refresh it. If I try to delete the widget, the tasks process force closes.I can create tasks and get reminders and everything just fine, but they just don't show up in the widget properly.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem where the email widget is not updating except when I reboot. the email is working and syncing but the widget itself is not showing the new mail. The gmail one is working fine. Also the calender widget does not change dates until reboot. If all else fails Reset I guess but I am trying to avoid that. I have a Canadian Xoom running Android 3.2 no Root.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend got the gs5 on VZW a few months ago, and has enjoyed it a lot. When I heard about the nightmares of lollipop (especially on VZW) I told her to avoid the update. Now, she's telling me that she was just forced to pick a time today for her to update, and at 5 pm tonight it will do it. Is there anything she can do to stop this update? I told her to check in about phone but she said nothing relevant is there. How can they force you into an update that breaks your phone?

There just came a new firmware on Sammobile (May 21) and I downloaded it. If I flash it, will my phone be wiped?
Also, if it do. Is there anything "to do" so I can get everything with it?
I am traveling out of the country and my S6 is in airplane mode with wifi on and connected to a wifi network in a different country. However, the time zone is not updating, even though the phone knows I'm not in the Pacific time zone anymore (in Google Maps, it shows that I am in a different country). My previous Android phone, the Motorola DROID MAXX, also did not update the time zone despite being connected to a wifi network in a different country.
Interestingly enough, my iPhone 6 Plus, which is also in airplane mode with wifi on, does detect that I'm in a different time zone (once it connects to the wifi network) and changes the time automatically.
Am I missing a setting? Or is this a normal (non)function of Android phones?
Any use the Motorola Date and Time Widget? Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a 3rd party weather app, removed the default Samsung weather widget from my home page, and added the 3rd party widget to my home page. As it turns out, the 3rd party app was buggy, so I removed it. I want to re-add the default S6 Edge weather widget to my home screen, but I can't find it.
I'm using Nova on ATT BTW. It seems that the widgets visible using Nova are slightly different from the widgets available using Touchwiz. How to re-add the default S6 edge weather widget?
I recently upgraded from the HTC EVO LTE to the Samsung S5. One widget I loved on my EVO was a Google Calendar widget. It was 4x1 and just showed the next event coming up on my calendar right on my home screen. While I have downloaded the Google Calendar app from the Play Store, I still don't have that widget. Not from the Google Calendar app nor the built in Samsung app. I just have a 2x3 one, 4x2 and 4x4. Which widget I'm referring to and how to get it? Or even if I could just get it to show up on my lockscreen but nowhere else, that would be fine!

View 2 Replies View RelatedSamsung Galaxy S5 is my first Android phone. In the process to customize my phone, I accidentally made the weather information in home screen disappear, now it show only the time (even the background picture gone). I try to remove weather widget and add it back but it does not works. I really need to turn it back because only this will give me updated weather in lock screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm coming from the S3 which had a "Favorite Contacts Widget" that was a 3x3 grid that showed me 9 of my favorite contacts. With the S5 this widget is gone. I looked for one in the Play Store but none are as good as the one on the S3. how to find the S3 widget again?

View 10 Replies View RelatedEmail widget stops working after the boot usually on one or two hours. You can click and open existing emails, but new emails are not listed and you cannot select which email box to view. Killing widget service or email won't help. You have to add the widget again or reboot the phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI synchronised with my gmail account succesfully and then I added my most common contacts to my second home page using the +Buddy widget. One day later half the widgets were empty and half of them maintained the assigned contacts. I was surprised but I renewed them thinking maybe it was something I did wrong. After using these widgets for a day with no problem, today I am surprised to see all of them are unassigned to contacts now.
