Galaxy S5 :: Is There A Smaller Widget For OK - Google?
Jun 9, 2014
Question #1: "OK, Google" is pretty cool, but I don't want to give up a full icon line to have it. Is there a smaller version of the widget that will only take up one icon space?
I recently upgraded from the HTC EVO LTE to the Samsung S5. One widget I loved on my EVO was a Google Calendar widget. It was 4x1 and just showed the next event coming up on my calendar right on my home screen. While I have downloaded the Google Calendar app from the Play Store, I still don't have that widget. Not from the Google Calendar app nor the built in Samsung app. I just have a 2x3 one, 4x2 and 4x4. Which widget I'm referring to and how to get it? Or even if I could just get it to show up on my lockscreen but nowhere else, that would be fine!
My Google search widget disappeared from my home screen. Long pressing on the home screen just puts a rectangle around the screen and brings up the delete option.
So I woke up this morning and noticed the Google search widget had changed itself from a smoke colored transparent look to a solid white look. I've done nothing that would alter this and I don't even think it can be changed by the user.Did it update itself and this is part of the update?
The google calendar widget not synchronize with the agenda. Is a widget which you can place on your home screen shows the agreements that you have, is very easy, you do not always have to go to your agenda.but since one week I can see the events. But in the google calendar I notice them. I deleted the app and installed but that does not fix the problem.
Have a Samsung S6, i use the same wallpaper for both my home screen and lock screen but everytime i change the wallpaper for both, the lock screen has the full image and the home screen is always slightly smaller by about 4% or 8%.
I just installed the Android Lollipop 5.0 factory image on my Nexus 5, thenrooted, and I'm getting a gray box on top of my recent apps list, I guess where the search bar should be, with the error message "Couldn't add widget". Reboot didn't fix the issue.
Getting Google play music when at lock screen as a widget? Whenever I slide the screen to the left when locked I get the music app but no music as I stream all mine through a collection I made up via the play store
as per the subject, the widget disappeared from my screen after it was at the top of my home screen. I went into widgets and there's no time on the one in there, nor is there anything for it under Clocks. I've looked all over to find a widget to replace this, from Accuweather, and I can't.
I want to set Google play music as my widget on the lock screen, so I can skip tracks or go back without unlocking the phone. I could swear I used to have it that way, but now am unable to set that back.
If I chose the music lock screen, it only uses the HTC music player app. If I do widget lock screen, I have very few outings to pick from, and Google play music is not an option.
So I usually DO NOT have the Google search bar widget that stays at the top of all of my home screens but now it's there. Not only that but it is unresponsive, I can't type in it, the mic doesn't respond, it's there but not working and I don't want it to begin with. My phone did a bunch of updates today, I wonder if some update messed it up. It has moforoot and KitKat....
I downloaded a 3rd party weather app, removed the default Samsung weather widget from my home page, and added the 3rd party widget to my home page. As it turns out, the 3rd party app was buggy, so I removed it. I want to re-add the default S6 Edge weather widget to my home screen, but I can't find it.
I'm using Nova on ATT BTW. It seems that the widgets visible using Nova are slightly different from the widgets available using Touchwiz. How to re-add the default S6 edge weather widget?
Since I have updated my Samsung s5 operating system to lollipop it seem that whenever I play music I don't get the music widget on the lock screen. The only way I can change the track is by using the air view feature.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is my first Android phone. In the process to customize my phone, I accidentally made the weather information in home screen disappear, now it show only the time (even the background picture gone). I try to remove weather widget and add it back but it does not works. I really need to turn it back because only this will give me updated weather in lock screen.
I'm coming from the S3 which had a "Favorite Contacts Widget" that was a 3x3 grid that showed me 9 of my favorite contacts. With the S5 this widget is gone. I looked for one in the Play Store but none are as good as the one on the S3. how to find the S3 widget again?
Email widget stops working after the boot usually on one or two hours. You can click and open existing emails, but new emails are not listed and you cannot select which email box to view. Killing widget service or email won't help. You have to add the widget again or reboot the phone.
I synchronised with my gmail account succesfully and then I added my most common contacts to my second home page using the +Buddy widget. One day later half the widgets were empty and half of them maintained the assigned contacts. I was surprised but I renewed them thinking maybe it was something I did wrong. After using these widgets for a day with no problem, today I am surprised to see all of them are unassigned to contacts now.
So i have just received my Galaxy S6 G920F, Running Uk's "BTU" Firmware with the latest software update, and i can't seem to find the Memo widget anywhere.
I disabled the stock weather widget a few weeks ago and today i decided to enable it again but i have a feeling I am missing something because although its enabled again, its not working! I cant get it to display on the lock screen nor as a widget on the home screen! I have a feeling i disabled summit else that needs to be enabled again for it to work??
The alarm widget on the note 2 was great. I could access all my alarms from the widget by simply scrolling up or down on the widget. is there a way to set the alarm widget on the s6 edge to do that? or do really need a widget for each alarm?
In Galaxy S5, I could easily add a memo Widget to my Home screens; so far, I can't find a memo widget IN Galaxy S6. I CAN download a memo widget app--but, I'd rather use the included memo app, if possible---
Previously had an S3 so am not completely unfamiliar with Android and Samsung phones. I cannot figure out how to add or remove a widget to any of my home pages. Anywhere there is room for an extra shortcut or widget, there is a fairly large + sign. Can add shortcuts, no prob. Shortcuts will also not move by pressing them and dragging. These issues also happen when I hit the Edit button.
How the weather widget on the lock screen of the S5 works? This morning, I found that it remained completely non-current, still displaying the night's forecast at the end of the morning. It wasn't in line with either the accurateweather or the google now widget forecasts, so I guess that's not where the lock screen widget info comes from.
So I restarted my phone, and now the information isn't there anymore, even after a few hours. So how is this controlled?
I have lost functionality of the native app that came with my Galaxy S5. Have tried thr GO and Weather Channel apps and theu both failed. Lollipop sucks, no doubt, but the must be a weather app that works with it on the S5.
