View 5 RepliesI''m trying to update the firmware on my Galaxy S2 (or GT-i9100) phone through Kies 2.1.1 on Windows 7 x64.. If finds the update available for the device and shows windows to update firmware. The new/latest update version available is PDA-KL1/PHONE:KL1/CSC:KL1(INU) After clicking to update, it downloads the update and goes into next step of "Preparing firmware update components", but then the process terminates after few seconds and nothing happens. The phone reconnects to kies s/w and again the firmware upgrade window is shown. So cannot update the firmware.
View 7 Replies View Relatedit seems to happen since upgrade to ICS. Takes ages to get it to restart, (time finger spent on power button) ICS has so far, been more trouble than its worth..
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

There just came a new firmware on Sammobile (May 21) and I downloaded it. If I flash it, will my phone be wiped?
Also, if it do. Is there anything "to do" so I can get everything with it?
I bought my Galaxy S2 on the 21st of July from Carphone Warehouse on a new contract (Panther 30). I've been with Orange for a few years now but it was time for an upgrade.Ever since I've had the phone, I recieve duplicate txt messages from anyone who txts me. It could be Iphone users, Blackberry users, other networks, you name it. I even get multiple txt messages from competetions (you know, when you try win all that gear on The Gadget Show and they send a conformation txt acknowledging your entry). I can recieve up to 5-6 of the same txt message throughout the day (they usually come in quite quickly) and I can even get them days after me first recieveing the original.I went back to Carphone Warehouse for their help but they suggested I rang Orange first to find out if it was a network problem or handset issue.Orange were useless at first but then I got through to technical support team 2. An action was opened and so we tried different solutions.
1. Factory reset of the handset. Didn't work.
2. Put my SIM card into another phone (Samsung D500). Suprisingly this worked and I didn't recieve any duplicates the whole day, which indicated it was indeed a handset problem. We agreed that I should go back to Carphone Warehouse and get a new handset but if the problem continued then I should get back in contact with the same chap in techincal support team 2.
3. Went off to Carphone Warehouse. Got the new handset. Unfortunatly the problem remained. It actually got much worse!
4. Got back in contact with the chap at Orange and he could see on his system that there were error codes and that the recieved txt messages weren't recognized at being recieved, therefore would be sent again and again. All the information we had was sent off the tech boffins at Orange to see if they could think of a solution.
5. Finally Orange came back with an answer, which was that I should try a new SIM card (register it and everything). So they sent one, which has only arrived this morning (took 8days). I've recieved the Orange txt that should come within 24hours and then deleted it and turned the phone off. BUT NO! This hasn't worked either. I've already recieved duplicate txt messages from someone. Three of one, and two of another txt.
I usually have 3bars to full signal where I am so it's not as though poor signal is causing this. Everyone else in the house is on Orange too and doesn't have this same problem. I never did either on my old Nokia 5800. It doesn't just happen at home though. I could be anywhere.
Signal strength (right now), -83dBm 15asu
Mobile network, GPRS (there is no 3G around us so I turned it off).

current firmware version: PDA:LPJ / PHONE:LPJ / CSC:LPJ (XXX)
I updated my Firmware using Kies and everything seemed to have gone smoothly until i started using the phone. I now have the following issues;
1 Pink spot on camera that wasnt there before
2 My phonebook keeps crashing and my buddy widgets for the phonebook also resets
3 SMS crashes as well
I thought it was suppost to be a fix. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have upgraded the firmware!
samsung galaxy s ii a month ago and i noticed 2 bugs (i hope not faults).the first bug is the notorious pink spot.even after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.the second bug and the most annoying is the fps drop.in low light conditions (and i mean inside or night),when autofocusing, the fps drop dramatically, like in this video (http://www.Internet.com/watch?=wkqe_62ee6y).again,after 2 firmware upgrades,it`s still there.i really don`t know what to do.i searched various websites and forums and the only "solution" i found is for the pink spot [the solution is updating to ke7,but my version is kj4 (the latest in my country and above ke7)],but still no luck with that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy SII had to have it's screen replaced (I'll hold my hands up, I dropped it). Before the repair I'd updated the phone to 2.3.5 which saw significant improvements such as battery life etc.During the repair the phone was reset to 2.3.4 and now I can't get it to update to 2.3.5 either via Kies or over the air.
View 5 Replies View RelatedPC is running Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 (64bit version) I have Kies version is 2.0.2.11071_128, The upgrade starts ok and runs until the phone displays 'Downloading...' at which point I get the message 'PC failed to recognise the mobile phone.' and says to disconnect phone, remove battery, restart phone and try again. This i have done several times but the same thing happens every time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI accepted doing it, so it backed-up some of my data and started the installation. The progress bar remained at 0% for more than 40 minutes and I became suspicious that it was not working. I tried interrupting with the cancel button and that didn't work, so the only way was to remove the cable (yes there were warnings not to do it... still I assumed that this scenario would have been foreseen). Kies woke up with the interruption and asked if I wanted to do an emergency firmware recovery, I said yes and proceeded with it. It gave me some instructions to switch off the phone, replace battery, and remove the cable. I switched the phone off and on again and there appeared a symbol representing the loss of connection to the PC, so I re-connected. The recovery started fine, but half way through it, it failed due to a problem on the phone. Since then the phone is dead. It won't start anymore.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my S2 a few months ago with O2 and I noticed that they had released the firmware for ICS. So i was forced to download the truly terrible Kies software, and after 24 hours of it not even connecting to my phone, I actually got it working. Of course, now, it wont even recognise that i can get ICS. I says I have the latest firmware -which I dont- and wont even let me search for a new one!

I have rooted my phone earlier, installed custom ROM, and then installed android 2.3.4 stock firmware. Information above tells everything about my SGS2. I can't find android 4.0 firmware download links, or instructions how to even do it. I have odin, and before i rooted my phone i took this information up what my phone used to be
baseband 19100xxki4
kernel i9100xwki8
To be hones, i don't know what those even mean. I only know that now they are different, and because my CSC is wrong i cant update with kies. I installed application called CSC select and it says my CSC is KOR. I also read that it needed to be NEE(nordic countries), to be able to update with kies. How ever CSC select application doesn't have a NEE available...
I've been told by Samsung technical support that updating from Gingerbread 2.3.X to ICS won't be available over the air because it's such a large file and the risk of updating OTA is too high. So [according to Samsung technical support] the only way to update to ICS (other than via ODIN) will be via Kies.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAm I correct in thinking that to have a hassle free upgrade from Version 2.3.X to ICS you should do a factory reset prior to downloading the update then another factory reset after you've downloaded the update? Also can you still update OTA after doing the first factory reset? Is it better to update OTA rather than use Kies? Also do the apps that you downloaded under 2.3.X still work under ICS?Most of all is ICS worth it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got the latest version of Kies 2.3.1.12044_18, and have checked for updates.I'm an UK O2 customer, but with a replacement handset that was provided by an insurance company rather than the original carrier supplied one.Kies says the current firmware version as:
PDA:K14 / PHONE:KI1 / CSC:KE1 (MTL)
And says this is the latest firmware.Which seems incorrect, as the phone is still on Gingerbread.
