Am I correct in thinking that to have a hassle free upgrade from Version 2.3.X to ICS you should do a factory reset prior to downloading the update then another factory reset after you've downloaded the update?Also can you still update OTA after doing the first factory reset?Is it better to update OTA rather than use Kies? Also do the apps that you downloaded under 2.3.X still work under ICS?Most of all is ICS worth it?

This is a real irritation when you want to read an email in full screen mode. I really cannot believe that I am having to ask this question in the first place....

i have just downloaded the new firmware and was wondering wich files were the PDA file and the PHONE file as on the update it says moden on one of them. i have already found the CSC just its been a while ive done this and cant remember if the moden file was th PDA or the PHONE file?

Before the repair I'd updated the phone to 2.3.5 which saw significant improvements such as battery life etc.During the repair the phone was reset to 2.3.4 and now I can't get it to update to 2.3.5 either via Kies or over the air.

I can't find android 4.0 firmware download links, or instructions how to even do it. I have odin, and before i rooted my phone i took this information up what my phone used to be

To be hones, i don't know what those even mean. I only know that now they are different, and because my CSC is wrong i cant update with kies. I installed application called CSC select and it says my CSC is KOR. I also read that it needed to be NEE(nordic countries), to be able to update with kies. How ever CSC select application doesn't have a NEE available...
I've been told by Samsung technical support that updating from Gingerbread 2.3.X to ICS won't be available over the air because it's such a large file and the risk of updating OTA is too high. So [according to Samsung technical support] the only way to update to ICS (other than via ODIN) will be via Kies.

" i retry and it starts off again but stops a min or 2 later.There doesnt seem to be a problem with my connection cause i can run websites and other internet programs without any trouble.

If finds the update available for the device and shows windows to update firmware. The new/latest update version available is PDA-KL1/PHONE:KL1/CSC:KL1(INU) After clicking to update, it downloads the update and goes into next step of "Preparing firmware update components", but then the process terminates after few seconds and nothing happens. The phone reconnects to kies s/w and again the firmware upgrade window is shown. So cannot update the firmware.

I'm on the Three network in the UK and upgraded to ICS yesterday. Since then the S2 continually crashes and restarts every few minutes. I took a backup before I upgraded although I didn't backup my photos. Because of the constant crashing I can't use the phone long enough to do much of anything. When I try and run apps, like Google Play the S2 becomes unresponsive. Not sure if my problems are caused by an app, but at one point I did manage to get a list of all the apps that were running:

right now my data isn't working, WiFi calls and texting works.
it's weird cause when I toggle off the Data it shows a line across the "4GLTE" but right now its just grayed out not letting me use data at all.
I have an s6 and the factory installed 4x1 clock/weather app no longer works. The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.

I have no way of referring back to earlier emails other than to refer back to my inbox using a PC. Is there any settings I can /should change to enable 'read' mail to stay in my E72 inbox? 3) The phone was no where close to water ? & 5) I did not open the phone and tamper with any of the hardware neither did i flash the phone through any 3rd party software or tool. When the 2.3.3 update was out for the X10 i updated using the SEUS and then the phone worked fine for about a week and then one fine day it did not turn on.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'll be quick with this, I updated my new AINO 3 hours ago and I realised that in return for making my mobile faster from the updated firmware, some items seemed to have disappeared: Missing red streak in MEDIA PLAYER TOUCH SCREEN UI, slightly laggy media UI in the touchscreen media player, removed ULTIMATE particle background in the media player and touchscreen MEDIA PLAYER UI icons seem to pop up smaller.Has anyone experienced similar problems from the update? My AINO is actually runnin pretty faster now but i'm just stating so that I don't know I'm the only one cause apperntly there are quite a few users on websites saying that the update scroowed them over. But yeah, the phone is grand but just some things went missing? Is this normal from an update if you have experienced it?

Firstly, Swype isn't working on my phone, it has never worked before and i was hoping it would with the Anna update but it still doesn't. Whenever I install the App, my phone freezes, i can't open anything that requires use of the Keyboard(Messages, Conversations, WhatsApp). The phone just keeps quite until I uninstall Swype.
Secondly, When you use Grid, there is an icon called Signal Boost, when opening it, it says System error... Not sure if anyone has ever experienced this.
Lastly (for now), are we supposed to purchase Shazam and QuickOffice 7 or a plan is being made to have an update that allows full access to both the apps in the near future? N8-00,Galaxy Tab 10.1
so I have the maps loaded onto my phone, but when I use the Directions (like sat nav) mode it quits after 30 secs with the message 'Enter Shop' or something like that? I am using the service offline - if that makes any difference?

I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
