As my phone is rooted, I can't update phone through OTA.
There just came a new firmware on Sammobile (May 21) and I downloaded it. If I flash it, will my phone be wiped?
Also, if it do. Is there anything "to do" so I can get everything with it?

Before flashing my 1020 with a country variant, I backed up all my images (pro and high res) to the computer then after flashing, I copied them back to the phone. However, when viewing the images in the gallery or even from ProCam, there's no option to view the image in ProCam so effectively, I have lost the ability to view the high res versions. This is a bit of a shame as I can no longer show off the impressive pinch to zoom as well as other features.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI suspect the Lumia BLACK update messed my 1020 up. I'd like to downgrade to Amber if thats possible.If i understand correctly, UPGRADING to 8.1 will not fix anything hardware related since its only a SOFTWARE update, not a firmware update.
Reloading Lumia BLACK reloads the SAME firmware so the issue persists.
Loading AMBER would load a different firmware, which might revert the hardware to pre-problem state.I have followed all the tutorials to set up the programs for loading software/firmware, i just cant seem to find a copy of the Amber firmware.
I've found recently my phone has been getting no updates at all from the store, Ive been manually pushing them from the store.
I've done a search on here and completed soft resets with repining the tile etc, and still doesn't seem to be working ...
What causes the store to stop pushing the updates?
I am using a Lumia 1020 with Black update and my Store is perfectly doing fine showing updates available but recently, or maybe around 2 weeks or so, my Store does not show any updates. I always see many updates from WPCentral but I the store just does not show an available update. And it is tiring to go to the app itself and update it from there when the store can automatically get all available updates and prompt me to download all.
I tried soft reset, restore factory settings, have not tried hard reset because I do not want to. I am almost in a month now that my store does not give me available updates.
I've updated my nokia lumia 1020 and I've noticed that the calendar app doesn't work!!!You can see it at the start menu but in darker colour....I've tried sync again my microsoft account but nothing happens.

I placed my 1020 with charger shell on my charging stand one night before bed and woke up the next morning with the exact same battery reading (maybe a little less even). So I re-positioned it on the charger stand and left it for a few more hours, same results. I then decided to plug the phone in to charge, came back a couple of hours later and the battery indicator still hadn't moved. I thought that this behavior was really strange so I rebooted the phone and lo-n-behold: a fully charged phone. For some reason the battery indicator was not updating properly.

The only background apps I have running is the one for the weather app I am currently trying to use. I have followed these steps: Generated CDA. Nordic language! Then followed these steps! Upload "customize_upgrade.xml" to your phone and make the CDA change. So you have generated the file and you want to get on with it? Well I'll make this as short as possible.
1. Open A2uploader.
2. Click "FileSystem Tool". Re-insert the battery of your phone then connect your USB holding '2+5' keys. Release keys '2+5' when A2uploader detects your phone.
3. Browse to "/tpa/preset/custom/". Drag and drop the "customize_upgrade.xml" file to the right pane of A2uploader.
4. Click "Shutdown FS Manager".
5. Disconnect USB cable and turn on phone. You will notice a "Please Wait" prompt. This is when the CDA is changing. When the prompt is gone, turn off your phone.
But SEUS cannot find any new firmware still? What revision should the the Customize upgrade be?

Since I leave in Greece, I tried to flash through odin the Stock firmware with CSC EUR but I had fails all 4 times. Tried with both odin 3.0.9 and 3.10. The problem seems to be the hidden file in the end, because everything goes fine until that moment. The result is soft brick. What should I do?

It seems telling twrp to do advanced wipe of system and a bunch of other stuff that apparently is not normally wiped did it.
after i had updated my n97. most problems temporarily went away for about 1-2 weeks. now my phone cannot answer calls. cannot play music through the loud speaker. alarm does not work. basically anything that has to do with sound does not work. it shows that my phone has headphones connected but there is none connected. i formated the phone, did a hard reset, re installed the latest software and still the problem continues. after having nokias for the past 10 years. i am happy to say that i will never purchase another nokia again. nokiaz flagship phone has drove most of thier loyal customers away. the n97 is one of the worst phones ive ever had with respect to software

When i click on Menu and then 'Photos', Menu disappears and im going back to the Home screen (idle), of course tried switching off and on, removing the battery, nothing helps. Then i found out that 'Photos' can only be opened in horizonal mode (opening the keyboard). In horizonal mode i can click Menu and then Photos, the 'Photos' is opened perfectly. (switching back to vertical seems ok, Photos stays open)

For the moment I have the firmware 30.0.011.When I check with my mobile if there are new updates, then it says there are no new updates available. When I ckeck on the nokia website with my productcode, it says that I can update to the new firmware. When I connect to my PC (Vista Ultimate 64bit), then it finds the new firmware and wants to update my mobile. During the update, it shuts my mobile down and then gives the error message that he can not find the device. So I disconnect my mobile, restart it and reconnect it. After this I choose to try again with locating my mobile, he finds it and starts with updating again till the part where my mobile is turned off again. So I keep getting stuck in this loop.Anybody knows a solution for this?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI work with a Nokia C5-00 operator locked (Movistar Spain) one month ago. When I connect it thru Ovi Suite (in a Windows 7 box), a firmware update was available, and yesterday I tried to do the upgrade.
Ovi Suite detected my phone, and a few moments later, backup its contents, and started to download the new firmware. Troubles came when Ovi Suite began to do the update, as it failed with a "Network Connect Error" when started to do the process.
Screen of my phone went completely white, and after disconnecting the USB cable, the phone simply died, except when I press the red button (it makes a vibration, but screen doesn't turn on). If I reconnect the phone to the computer, Windows try to install a "Nokia USB ROM" device, but unsuccessfully.
Can I make a sort of "reset" to revive my phone?
