May 6, 2010I updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.

May 15, 2011Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

Nov 29, 2015I had a GS5 and I was able to sync facebook contacts to my device contact list with ease. However, I can't do the same with my GS6 Edge. Going to accounts-> facebook, only shows my account with a gray "refresh" bar saying " sync turned off" and it gives me no option to turn it on. Master Sync is turned on, and Sync from the main pulldown bar is turned on as well. I'm getting ready to chuck this phone at the wall cuz Im so frustrated. This was not an Issue with my GS5.

Feb 3, 2010WM 6.1 upgrade went without problem, but now I have issue with Wi-Fi access.PIE is unable to open any websites if the phone connects to any secured wireless network.(WEP, WPA, WPA2)Only time the wi-fi would work is when I connect to non-secured network.When I was on WM 6.0, I had no issues what so ever, so this is a new problem and I know I setup the network correctly. (Router issues IP address and network card receives IP address.)Looks like it happened to couple of others as well, but there does not look to be any remedy for it.
Of course about 90% of the time I will be connecting to non-secured network, so it should not be a too large an issue, but if possible, I would like to fix this.According to the search, only remedy I have seen is a guy contacting Samsung and getting WM 6.0 re-flashed on the phone. Other than 6.0 reflash, could there be any other potential resolution that I have overlooked?

Nov 8, 2011I updated my Firmware using Kies and everything seemed to have gone smoothly until i started using the phone. I now have the following issues;
1 Pink spot on camera that wasnt there before
2 My phonebook keeps crashing and my buddy widgets for the phonebook also resets
3 SMS crashes as well
I thought it was suppost to be a fix. If i had known this would happen i wouldnt have upgraded the firmware!

Oct 7, 2011I accepted doing it, so it backed-up some of my data and started the installation. The progress bar remained at 0% for more than 40 minutes and I became suspicious that it was not working. I tried interrupting with the cancel button and that didn't work, so the only way was to remove the cable (yes there were warnings not to do it... still I assumed that this scenario would have been foreseen). Kies woke up with the interruption and asked if I wanted to do an emergency firmware recovery, I said yes and proceeded with it. It gave me some instructions to switch off the phone, replace battery, and remove the cable. I switched the phone off and on again and there appeared a symbol representing the loss of connection to the PC, so I re-connected. The recovery started fine, but half way through it, it failed due to a problem on the phone. Since then the phone is dead. It won't start anymore.
