gambled and SEUS said a new firmware update was available for my W995, so being a fool, i backed it all up and ran the procedure.No errors, unplug and powered her on.Now its been sat at the Please Wait with full status bar for about 3hrs now. Can i just power cycle it? what is best way to do this? Will it do damage? Is my phone shot?

I updated the W995 firmware yesterday using SEUS. After update firmware is R1HA035. But according to the forums on this site the latest is R1HA036. Why didn't I get the latest? Also after update I turned my phone on and I got the long please wait message. During this message I got a pop up message for Daylight savings update and I selected yes then back to the please wait message. Then phone started normal. Did the pop message effect the firmware installation and shall I reinstall firmware or is everything ok?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed this?, I've tried various music (encoded at different rates which sound fantastic on other audio equipment) and different headphones (via both sockets on the phone). My mate who is in a band and heavily into audiophile stuff agrees that the sound quality is terrible. My old w810i is far better. The top end is to harsh but without any definition and whenever I use one of the EQ settings the music seems to get muddied up and even slightly louder and quieter in sections. I am wondering if this either a bad phone or something to do with the firmware that O2 (UK) uses (I know they alter it as google maps and wayfinder aren't installed). I have used the update service which states I am running the latest firmware. The phone is going back but if the next one is the same then I may have to move phones.
View 14 Replies View RelatedFor last few days I am having a problem with K790i. When I turn on my phone it shows a small box showing 'Please wait' after the Sony Ericsson logo disappears. Then after waiting for about 10 minutes another small box appears with same 'Please wait ' error. I tried the FW update by SEUS, but it's taking just 30 seconds to install, which I think is weird and might be it's not even updating. So is there any way to Master Reset the phone without being on? By the Keys or something?

It was working fine but now no matter how I try turning it on, the buttons just light up and it vibrates but nothing comes on the screen. Is this a battery problem or a screen problem? I have to take out the battery before I can try turning it on again. And also it won't charge. I tried searching for answers but haven't found anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay I have tried both A2 Uploader and JDFlasher to flash my W995 but it's not working the phone is not recognized at all by the computer.
Every time it enters memory transfer mode I have installed the Gordon's Gate Setup and I make sure of turning the phone off and holding C then the application will search for the phone nothing will happen
Then the application will give up looking for the phone and then the phone enters USB transfer mode.
OK today I was given a replacement Elm under my insurance because for some reason my Elm's speaker stopped working. Anyway got replacement fine all working well. I noticed the replacement had the previous firmware so I decided to update it using SEUS. Now after updating & setting up the phone again I noticed the clear voice & noise shield function had vanished I looked all through the menus & also during call menus but nowhere to be found. So I reinstalled AGAIN only to be greeted with the same problem. I called customer service number & got through right away. Spoke to a Scottish lady who had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. I knew that I was right & she was wrong. She went on to say that the clear call & noise shield function is NOT a feature of the Elm WTF? I said the feature is advertised on the website for the Elm & on the bloody box At this point I asked to speak with someone else & she went off to speak to someone & came back to repeat the same thing again I said how can you say this about it's not a feature of the Elm when it's advertised as it is? She then said when we send out the generic phones we don't put that feature on the phone it's the stores that do? At this point I just gave up & said forget it Has customer service always been that bad? I have not called them for many years but today was shocking

I have Phone A which I was told to upgrade to resolve an issue. Before upgrading, I used manage messages to copy messages by a specific contact to my memory card. After backing up, I checked the memory card tab to see that those messages had been transferred they had. I removed the memory card so the upgrade won't accidently delete stuff on there from Phone A and continued with the upgrade. After the upgrade, I put the memory card back in and went to manage messages to restore them nothing showed.
I was on the phone to sony ericsson for half hour and they couldn't figure out why they were not showing, saying I had not backed them up, but I know I had. I have another phone which is the same as Phone A. I inserted the memory card into Phone B, went to manage messages. It showed messages on the card, but those that I must have backed up a few months ago rather than those I backed up today which didn't show in Phone A
It seems it only reads SMS's on the card dependant on the firmware version. How can I retrieve the messages I backed up today? I've been told I can't rollback the firmware version and even if I did, I didn't note down what it was. Those messages were REALLY importants and I would very much like to get them back.
I am new to this forum and my W995 phone I have taken pictures and videos with it they are excellent quality,but although they transferred to my computer, I can't transfer the videos to a disc.

View 14 Replies View RelatedW995 has an indoor 3G signal problem. When you hold it in your hand like you mostly do, 3G signal disappears and the phone switches to 2G mode. Hence, outside of the buildings the phone generally keeps 3G signals without any problem. Checked it with another 3G capable GSM Operator's line but nothing changes. I can not make video calls when I'm home. I've got the latest software for my phone.

My phone started not working so I switched off, sincve when it won't go past the Sony logo before the screen goes blank. It is seen by the PC for a few seconds every minute or so, and that's it. I can't do anything with it, and the battery is charged and the sim card is not faulty.

There is no pattern and just happens at random 2-3 times a day. Have tried the software update but it still happens. Only way to clear the problem is to remove the battery and then it will restart!
