When i switch my phone on a message comes up on the screen saying "insert phone sim card", or view demo for this phone! it will not let me acess the phone at all apart from emergency calls.

Is it possible to repair/flash a W995 to generic software (no specific T-Mobile stuff) from the memory card ? I don't have a USB lead.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLooking for some advice I just started using W995 it was my husbands and he has had no problems. Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.
I've had my phone for at least a year now and suddenly today it won't turn on. This also happened maybe 30mins-1hr after turning it off. It was working fine but now no matter how I try turning it on, the buttons just light up and it vibrates but nothing comes on the screen. Is this a battery problem or a screen problem? I have to take out the battery before I can try turning it on again. And also it won't charge. I tried searching for answers but haven't found anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOkay I have tried both A2 Uploader and JDFlasher to flash my W995 but it's not working the phone is not recognized at all by the computer.
Every time it enters memory transfer mode I have installed the Gordon's Gate Setup and I make sure of turning the phone off and holding C then the application will search for the phone nothing will happen
Then the application will give up looking for the phone and then the phone enters USB transfer mode.
I want to put a phone lock code on new W995 but the existing one does not seem to appear in user guide?

I know you have a pin code and a phone lock code (For when you are switching the phone on), but is their anything to lock your phone with while its switched on (Like a code to input to unlock your phone?).

Satio is the only 12MP phone out there.Can we not have one with a good flash, more memory, 8MP camera and better video? slider?The W995 is not sitting 2nd in the phones4 u chart for nothing. View 3 Replies View RelatedW995 has an indoor 3G signal problem. When you hold it in your hand like you mostly do, 3G signal disappears and the phone switches to 2G mode. Hence, outside of the buildings the phone generally keeps 3G signals without any problem. Checked it with another 3G capable GSM Operator's line but nothing changes. I can not make video calls when I'm home. I've got the latest software for my phone.

I sent it to SE and they said they returned it unfixed because of the water damage and corrosion that spreads. However, when I put my SIM card back it, it now says "Insert Correct SIM" even though the SIM card works in my W810. They even replaced my keypad and every button works.After looking up my SIM lock info, everything says 0.Does anyone what happened and how to help?

The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. Using a French network provider, my data allowance is very small, so would prefer to use Wi-Fi to pick up e-mail & other internet services. How can I force a Wi-Fi connection if one is available ?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've bought a SE c510 recently. Maybe a month ago. All was working fine until a couple of days ago, it started giving me error message. First, it will say Inactive Sim. Then, it will turn itself on, and give me this error message: "Insert Sim or View Demo Video first" It takes more than a couple of on/off remove battery cycles before it functions again. My Sim is definitely not inactive. Cause At times that I don't get this error, it works. I have also updated to the latest firmware as of 06/27/10. I still get the errors. Is there s aolution to this? I have been using SE Phones for a long time now and I don't usually have issues like this.

My phone started not working so I switched off, sincve when it won't go past the Sony logo before the screen goes blank. It is seen by the PC for a few seconds every minute or so, and that's it. I can't do anything with it, and the battery is charged and the sim card is not faulty.

There is no pattern and just happens at random 2-3 times a day. Have tried the software update but it still happens. Only way to clear the problem is to remove the battery and then it will restart!
