I transferred a film onto my M2 memory card which then doesn't work. When I try to delete this it says cannot delete as the file is protected. Can anyone help me with this? The film is taking up 1.12GB of space and I want to get rid of it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLooking for some advice I just started using W995 it was my husbands and he has had no problems. Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.
When I try to send a message my W995 says "Phone memory full. Delete one or more files of your choice". When I select "yes" it calls up a list of file boxes, but none can be deleted. I've scanned the net and it does seem to be a common problem, but I can't find an answer.

Then I noticed the applications I had installed in the memory card are not longer displayed on the screen, and when I try to take a photo it says there is no memory card and that they will be stored in the phone's memory. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Sony Ericsson Elm - when I try to save something to my memory card everything seems to be okay, however when I then try to view what is saved on my memory card I get the message "Empty Folder". I then have to turn my phone off ad back on again for everything to reappear in my memory card folder. But then if I try to save something again to my memory card the cycle starts again and I get the "Empty Folder" message once again.

My card reader is able to detect it, and i can access it through my phone while it's connected in file transfer mode. However, my phone says there is no memory card inserted, and my computer is unable to detect the card when the mobile is connected in phone mode. I've tried formatting it in both FAT and FAT32 with several different cluster sizes, but it makes no difference. Would appreciate some input!

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 350a doesnt see the memory card.When I go to the file "file manager" and move over one to the "on memory stick" it states "memory stick not inserted"The memory card works fine, as I can remove it, insert it into a M2 adaptor, then into my PC and access/retrieve files.I have tried reinstalling the software on the phone via the update service, I have reset the phone (master reset)I have also formated the memory stick but still no success When I attach the phone to the PC via the USB cord the PC does not see the memory stick through the phone either.Is there something that I have missed or am not doing that I should be?

I went to file manager and onto the memory card files and it said 'no files'. Does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong with it? My phone memory is still normal and everything else functions properly, except for my memory card. I updated it and I even checked if its placed in properly but nothing seems to help. View 2 Replies View RelatedGot my Vivaz this Friday and it seems to have a fault with the card reader from factory. My Vivaz won't talk with the supplied 8GB MicroSD card or any other MicroSD card. The phone will notice if there are a card or not in the reader but can't access it, just reporting a faulty card.
Inserting or removing using Vivaz menu commands works and tells whether or not a card is inserted. Have tested three different MicroSDs 2,8 and 16 GB all works with Win7 and a X10 Mini, the Vivaz can't read or write to none. Sadly the Vivaz is useless with just the phone memory.
Why will my elm phone not save photos, themes to the memory card ? I have saved music on the card with an SD adapter on my computer and this is usable on the phone but sometimes disappears and says folder empty.Removing and replacing the memory card rectifies this but only for a short time.

Well i run software update, even it was up to date and hey, it allmost worked. Now the music player regognises mp3 files just fine, but files that are in m4a format, (that i got most of my music) is not regognised. It cant handle them in proper way. It shows songs names, but dont put them in proper albumwiew, and wont play them at all. Thatīs very weird, because i had no broblem with them on my old W880i. If i go to filehandling and browse memorycards files from there, they works just fine, but that is not actually musicplayer, isnīt it! So. How can i play my music files in this MUSIC-phone i just bought?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Phone A which I was told to upgrade to resolve an issue. Before upgrading, I used manage messages to copy messages by a specific contact to my memory card. After backing up, I checked the memory card tab to see that those messages had been transferred they had. I removed the memory card so the upgrade won't accidently delete stuff on there from Phone A and continued with the upgrade. After the upgrade, I put the memory card back in and went to manage messages to restore them nothing showed.
I was on the phone to sony ericsson for half hour and they couldn't figure out why they were not showing, saying I had not backed them up, but I know I had. I have another phone which is the same as Phone A. I inserted the memory card into Phone B, went to manage messages. It showed messages on the card, but those that I must have backed up a few months ago rather than those I backed up today which didn't show in Phone A
It seems it only reads SMS's on the card dependant on the firmware version. How can I retrieve the messages I backed up today? I've been told I can't rollback the firmware version and even if I did, I didn't note down what it was. Those messages were REALLY importants and I would very much like to get them back.

1. It's got a 512mb stick in it and I'd like to replace it with something with greater capacity - say 4gb or 8gb - do I can put a lot more stuff on it. I spoke to Maplin about a new stick and the chap there said, if the phone is that sort of age, I might be able to go up only to a 1gb or 2gb and should check. Does anyone know the answer please?
2. The handbook (which I have just downloaded) talks about a file manager function, but I can't see it on my phone - is this a problem?
3. I have gone through all the menus and can't see a function to let me format a new memory stick - can I use one without formatting it?
