I updated the W995 firmware yesterday using SEUS. After update firmware is R1HA035. But according to the forums on this site the latest is R1HA036. Why didn't I get the latest? Also after update I turned my phone on and I got the long please wait message. During this message I got a pop up message for Daylight savings update and I selected yes then back to the please wait message. Then phone started normal. Did the pop message effect the firmware installation and shall I reinstall firmware or is everything ok?
Has anyone else noticed this?, I've tried various music (encoded at different rates which sound fantastic on other audio equipment) and different headphones (via both sockets on the phone). My mate who is in a band and heavily into audiophile stuff agrees that the sound quality is terrible. My old w810i is far better. The top end is to harsh but without any definition and whenever I use one of the EQ settings the music seems to get muddied up and even slightly louder and quieter in sections. I am wondering if this either a bad phone or something to do with the firmware that O2 (UK) uses (I know they alter it as google maps and wayfinder aren't installed). I have used the update service which states I am running the latest firmware. The phone is going back but if the next one is the same then I may have to move phones.
I got a new Elm (T-Mobile Germany branded) some days ago and after trying all functions (no problems found), I had it updated to the latest firmware R7CA061 with SEUS. (I've found some threads concerning Elm and GPS-problems in this forum, but they weren't connected to R7CA061). After the update, GPS does not work properly any more, or in other words: it does not really work at all! Neither Assisted GPS (I only tried A-GPS using WIFI) nor unassisted GPS does work. I do not get a lock on my location with Google Maps, also after waiting for more than 10 minutes.
My GPS-position is "jumping around" on the map about one kilometer around my actual position. It's completely inaccurate! I have the feeling that it's even getting worse after some minutes. I also tried the GPS test in the service menu: doesn't work! Switched GPS off and on again: doesn't work! Tried AGPS and GPS: doesn't work! Completely shut down and switch the Elm on again: doesn't work. After reinstalling the latest firmare using SEUS once again - GPS works (assisted and unassisted) and also the GPS test from the service menu works properly. But then, after some minutes, GPS seems to fade away again somehow.
Can anyone help please I downloaded the latest update for my W995 handset about 2 weeks ago and now have a load of problems, it will now not access the Internet. Says "Communication error. Please try again or turn off WiFi or contact support provider" the Wifi is def turned off - Orange have tried to fix it by sending me new settings and then turning off phone etc though not worked. It will also not now send emails and cannot locate any phone update via the handset from Sony
gambled and SEUS said a new firmware update was available for my W995, so being a fool, i backed it all up and ran the procedure. No errors, unplug and powered her on.Now its been sat at the Please Wait with full status bar for about 3hrs now. Can i just power cycle it? what is best way to do this? Will it do damage? Is my phone shot?
well the title of this post explains it all since the w995 has the normal SE UI, it should be updated, have better camera functionality and so on and so forth and also other SE phones as well
I have updated my phones' software using the "update service" and it tells me that my phone has got the latest software (R2CA023). I have read on some blogs that R2CA026 has been released in some regions. Is there a way that I can update to the latest software?
- All 2D games as Angry Birds as are not playing smoothly
- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.
I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.I've also Class 10 SD card. All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
Today I applied the latest software update for the Sony Ericsson Elm. Now I have the problem that my widgets don't appear in stand-by mode. Is there a way to fix this issue?
Ive just recently got my new vivaz and have run the latest update. Can anyone tell me what the changes are in this new update? Id also like to know whether it is possible that a flash can be programmed into the vivaz instead of the light being constantly on. This is the only annoying aspect of the camera.
I was installing the latest software update on my new Satio tonight and didn't realise I had insufficient battery charge until midway through the update. The phone crashed before finishing the update and now doesn't seem to take a charge, I have taken out the battery, SIM card and memory card and put them all back in, and had the phone connected to the charger for over an hour, but I have no indication from the phone that it is charging and it won't boot up. I tried running the update again but it failed again as well.
my gps in hazel was working fine with the earlier firmware. It took time from 5-15 minutes but it did get lock-on but after the update of the firmware from SEUS it is not working. I mean I even kept the tracker app running for almost 3 hours and at different locations but for no use.
We need SE engineers to solve GPS problem with SE Elm. After firmware update to R7CA061 it cannot lock to any satellites. Tried few locating applications using A-GPS as well as GPS only, but without success. Tried GPS test - request sent - test timeout - no success. Forget about navigation and forget about training with tracker application. By the way, what about free navigation software? Nokia has it. Actually, this is not the issue any more, since my GPS is not working.
I'll be quick with this, I updated my new AINO 3 hours ago and I realised that in return for making my mobile faster from the updated firmware, some items seemed to have disappeared: Missing red streak in MEDIA PLAYER TOUCH SCREEN UI, slightly laggy media UI in the touchscreen media player, removed ULTIMATE particle background in the media player and touchscreen MEDIA PLAYER UI icons seem to pop up smaller.Has anyone experienced similar problems from the update? My AINO is actually runnin pretty faster now but i'm just stating so that I don't know I'm the only one cause apperntly there are quite a few users on websites saying that the update scroowed them over. But yeah, the phone is grand but just some things went missing? Is this normal from an update if you have experienced it?
have recently been having few issues with my phone, and noticed im still running the original firmware R1CB001.Installed SEUS, follows all intrustions, gets to where it has progress line for installing the firmware.the update starts but after about 30secs, i hear the sound from my pc as if ive just unplugged something from usb and then few seconds later as if something has been plugged back into usb, then the bar just jumps to the enter and says update complete.Turned phone on again, checks software version and still shows as being same as it originally was.Does anyone have any ideas on whats happening and any possible fix?
I have upgraded the firmware in my W910i, and now it doesn't see/recognize the messages (email, SMS, MMS) that have been saved to the M2 memory card, nor does the phone see/recognize the Java applications I'd added. I know all this data is on the card, because I've seen it, via a card-reader, on my notebook.
I have kept a record of all firmware change activity, except I don't know what the original firmware details were, i.e. straight out of the box. I use this SE 'jewel' as a Walkman/iPod, a PDA, and as a serious portable email client, and don't want to lose the ability to migrate my email through any OS upgrade (or phone model upgrade, as I also have a W705a).
I know those 5-6 files (like MSTK_PRO.IND) in the root directory of the memory card have something to do with it, but I don't know how. I have actually seen that the content of the email messages (body.dat files in sub-folders with long numeric names) is simply pure text. I hope there is a way of 're-sewing' the pieces together, using some sort of key formula.
C905. It's a great phone and I have it for almost a year now. But yesterday I did a firmware update and now if I take a photo with the camera I can't find where it stores it. If I look at my pictures they're not there. I checked my settings and it should be saving the pictures on my memory card. I checked the remaining space on my memory card after taking picture and it changes. If I take a pictures it also says it's saving it. If I let it save on the mobile phone itself I can find them and I can find my videos on my memory card too.
In a usage time of this phone I had a problem with function Wi-fi. At connection to ad-hoc networks the exchange of packages does not occur. What should I do? I tried to adjust ip-addresses and a network mask manually, to change cryptography techniques, but it hasn't helped.
I have just acquired a W995 & have set up a Wi-Fi link to my home network but am not sure if it is using that instead of my Mobile Phone connection. The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. Using a French network provider, my data allowance is very small, so would prefer to use Wi-Fi to pick up e-mail & other internet services. How can I force a Wi-Fi connection if one is available ?
I'm sure this has been done to death but I can't find any links on here. My phone started not working so I switched off, sincve when it won't go past the Sony logo before the screen goes blank. It is seen by the PC for a few seconds every minute or so, and that's it. I can't do anything with it, and the battery is charged and the sim card is not faulty.
My nearly 1 year old W995 has just started to switch itself off for no reason. Battery is charged and have tried a replacement battery also. There is no pattern and just happens at random 2-3 times a day. Have tried the software update but it still happens. Only way to clear the problem is to remove the battery and then it will restart!
