Sony Ericsson :: Satio U1i - Installing Latest Software Update / Insufficient Battery Charge
Sep 7, 2010
I was installing the latest software update on my new Satio tonight and didn't realise I had insufficient battery charge until midway through the update. The phone crashed before finishing the update and now doesn't seem to take a charge, I have taken out the battery, SIM card and memory card and put them all back in, and had the phone connected to the charger for over an hour, but I have no indication from the phone that it is charging and it won't boot up. I tried running the update again but it failed again as well.
I'm having problem with my Satio. I want to install some third party softwares on my mobile but when I tried to install sis and sisx format file, every time it shows error and error is "Certificate Expired".
I downloaded a couple of apps from Sony Ericsson's web site including a game that I used to play on my Sony Ericsson Z520a phone previoulsy, called "Quadrapop." It's a free Java application, and there was a version specific to the Satio, which is also an S60 5 edition phone, just like the 5800 which I am trying to install on.
When I try installing it, I get a message, "Certificate error" followed by something to the effect of, "contact supplier" I have been able to install some other Satio Java apps on my 5800, but not Quadrapop. Is there anything I can do do get around this issue?
Vivaz got update, X10 got the update, whr is update for satio? Its like SE has forgot they have made a device named Satio. Wake up SE give the update for Satio. With some nice features like kinetic scrolling, HD video recording, call recording etc other wise it is sure you are going to loose many customers.
I think that satio's owners deserve a new update for our phones. The last one was 6 months ago, better video shooting. The colorful do not move when the music player is playing a track. Settings tab should be more simply and independent from other applications. More themes. A design just like Aino. And some many other things. That all users of Satio phones can suggest in this post.
I am really happy for the phone but it is so high-tech phone and it is losing support. Is this what you are going to do? Dump the people owning Satio's and work with Xperia X10 rather? This isn't a joke I guess that this phone has the least support of the phones I ever had as the others hadn't much bugs and a lack of many typical functions in them. The last update was on march Vivaz got an update during april and it costs less and how come that phone has even a better home screen for that money. Please tell me if you are going to make an update for this phone or I will seriously throw it into the danube and I will buy Iphone 4 as Sony Ericsson is really bringing my positive feedback on the company down. Seriously tell me if there will be an update coming during the two weeks or never, I hate those blablabla around this stuff. I seriously think that you even ignored our petition completely even though you said you will send it to the Satio developer team. I don't even think there is such a thing like Satio developer team, as the Satio would be done much better and we would have more functions and less bugs. I guess that Satio my last phone I bought from you, it is getting me discousted. (if you don't know what petition I was talking about it is this one: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/satio-software-update.html )
I know Sony Ericsson will prepare the Satio update, becouse got announcement "Satio Update Information - We will let you know" and Satio is the first Sony Ericsson Entertainment Unlimited Series Smart Phone. I know Sony Ericsson will not give up Satio, But why Sony Ericsson always keep silent? Is Sony Ericsson got suprise to us?
BATTERY CANNOT BE CHARGE PLEASE USE A SONY ERICSSON BATTERY. after flashing my phone. i got this error, i've tried changing my battery but the error is still there. my phone is K850i
This thread is dedicated to all satio users who have complaints and complements also this thread will list all the issues the satio has and what improvements you can make in the next satio update. the consumers who brought the satio for a hefty price of £400 thinking that this was going to be the ultimate device were sadly mistaken as the satio isn't even a device that you can say featurewise even fits into the mid range market for its price. I and all the satio users want to get the features that all high end smartphones have e.g kinetic scrolling, voice dialling etc. (btw don't tell us we cant get them even the low/mid range nokia 5800 has these features). also if you didnt know already there was a petition started by me on the 16th of July which now has 1570 people signed up to it. here is the petition link http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/satio-software-update.html here is the list that we all 1300 (probably more some people didn't sign the petition so about 4500) of us want you to fix the issues with the satio and give it the features that all high end phones have now a days. * Upgrade to symbian^3 (the x10 is getting android 2.1, also the Satio doesn't utilize symbian^1 properly; also this could help you compete against the nokia n8 which has a 12mp camera) ** HD recording (the x10 is getting HD recording why not the Satio it has the required cpu to handle HD recording, this would also help you compete agianst the nokia n8) 1) Kinetic scrolling throughout the whole UI 2) Give Vivaz home screen 3) Media search function in media player 4) Make phone louder (loudspeaker when receiving call, when playing music out loud) 5) Auto continuous focusing whilst recording 6) Better picture quality e.g. sharpness, less compression and faster camera menu 7) Auto change to full qwerty mode if you make you phone landscape from alphanumeric mode 8) Integrated EQ in media player (allowing you to manually set your EQ: up all SE's had this) 9) Fix the screen lag that some people have (screen tearing), this is due to the software 10) Fix clock problem (clock losing time) 11) Proper zoom in media (When you zoom the photo enlarges but does not fill the whole screen! why?) 12) Upgrade the web browser to V7 13) Add smart search to dialler (previous SE phones had it) 14) Improve microphone quality (video/sound recording is very quiet) 15) Ability to play HD films on phone; also divx/xvid support 16) RDS in radio. 17) Change volume level and tracks whilst the phone is locked.i hope you will consider all of these for the next update or otherwise me and the other 4500 (which totals to 4500* £400 = £1,800,000) people who brought the satio will move to another manufacturer (nokia, htc, apple) also anyone feel free to comment
Just got my new satio and after many thing,s of trying to ring out and connect to internet after just opening it all up and and registering the sim and phone with orange, still didnt work. so looked on orange site and read about the auto update wich stated should qure any previous problems with softtware regardless of what was installed. off i went to do the update on a fully charged phone did as stated hold call key while connecting Usb lead, update started after downloading latest version. after installing then doing as the auto installed states unplugged cable and restarted phone. now it wont fire up at all just the power on light hang,s? could this be dead or something i can do cannot try soft/hard reset as it wont come to life to type anything and now when connected to USB lead comes up as an unrecognised device.
I had been trying to update my Satio's software. It just could not update for me even after I press the call key at the 5th step for more than 10 mins! The top right hand corner bar never moves to "confirm" it just stays at "connect". Can anyone kindly help me? I really don't want to make a trip down to the Service Center as updating of software takes more than a week!
Does anyone know how I can stop my Satio losing time, after a few days the time is always wrong, had a k800i and never had a problem with that, cant set the automatic time update on either because this then sets the time around 5 1/2 hours later than the actual time.
I have updated my phones' software using the "update service" and it tells me that my phone has got the latest software (R2CA023). I have read on some blogs that R2CA026 has been released in some regions. Is there a way that I can update to the latest software?
I updated the W995 firmware yesterday using SEUS. After update firmware is R1HA035. But according to the forums on this site the latest is R1HA036. Why didn't I get the latest? Also after update I turned my phone on and I got the long please wait message. During this message I got a pop up message for Daylight savings update and I selected yes then back to the please wait message. Then phone started normal. Did the pop message effect the firmware installation and shall I reinstall firmware or is everything ok?
It's doing that whole "Can not charge battery, please insert a sony ericsson battery" when it is a Sony Ericsson battery Is there anyway to fix this without going to the store you got it from, its the third time this has happened and im sick of having to return it then go three weeks without a phone.
- All 2D games as Angry Birds as are not playing smoothly
- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.
I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.I've also Class 10 SD card. All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
Today I applied the latest software update for the Sony Ericsson Elm. Now I have the problem that my widgets don't appear in stand-by mode. Is there a way to fix this issue?
I got a new Elm (T-Mobile Germany branded) some days ago and after trying all functions (no problems found), I had it updated to the latest firmware R7CA061 with SEUS. (I've found some threads concerning Elm and GPS-problems in this forum, but they weren't connected to R7CA061). After the update, GPS does not work properly any more, or in other words: it does not really work at all! Neither Assisted GPS (I only tried A-GPS using WIFI) nor unassisted GPS does work. I do not get a lock on my location with Google Maps, also after waiting for more than 10 minutes.
My GPS-position is "jumping around" on the map about one kilometer around my actual position. It's completely inaccurate! I have the feeling that it's even getting worse after some minutes. I also tried the GPS test in the service menu: doesn't work! Switched GPS off and on again: doesn't work! Tried AGPS and GPS: doesn't work! Completely shut down and switch the Elm on again: doesn't work. After reinstalling the latest firmare using SEUS once again - GPS works (assisted and unassisted) and also the GPS test from the service menu works properly. But then, after some minutes, GPS seems to fade away again somehow.
put it on charge last night as i normally do, then when i looked at it after about an hour, it said: Cannot Charge Battery, Please use a Sony Ericsson Battery, I still had about 50% battery so i switched it on and it goes past the turn on / flight mode menu then theres just a white screen saying please insert correct sim. The red light is also flashing.
I got my satio in may and didnt even have it for a month before things went wrong. firstly, i was never able to send a MMS to a virgin mobile phone. and then i wasnt able to send a text message to anyone. i called SE and they did all this stuff and called my carrier AT&T and nothing was wrong with my service because i put my SIM in my old phone and was able to send MMS and SMS. so SE said i had to send my satio in for repair(why they didnt just replace the phone i have no idea) and now i am waiting for parts. its been 2 weeks since i sent my phone in. and now i hear there isnt going to be another update? theres slight problems with this phone that if were fixed, it would beat the iphone and droid by a mile. i was just getting used to my satio and then i had to return it. they say i probably wont get it back until the 8th of july. thats just crazy in my opinion. why didnt they just replace the phone? when i looked into the satio as my new phone it looked so cool and when i got it i was so amazed by it. i even got a manuel in a different language, had to call SE and they said they wont send me an english manuel and that i should just look it up on their website since they update the software a lot...well apparently they dont since they havent updated it in months. to say the least, i am disapointed in SE with their future of the satio.
I can not get my Satio's GPS to work. At most it will show 3 satellites, but always loses the connection. I am not making use of Wisepilot or Google maps.I did a software upgrade 0n 06-06-2010 - no difference. How can I get the GPS to work? I live in South Africa.
i am just a normal teenager using a satio... i just asking your site, when will you release the new update for satio? i heard from other forums saying the r2ak006 is the last firmware by sony ericsson... that was great in the first time but still is just a minor update... please do a bigger update, and update the Internet application to v2.44 and google to v2.10 and try to get a proper facebook application, the java facebook app always lack...i do not want to sell my satio, that's why im asking you when will you release the latest update? also the homescreen is quite boring, hope you can bring the vivaz homescreen...
I do not know which one to buy.. the aino or satio? i like the media menu in aino n also the sound quality of aino on the other side i like the camera in xenon flash with video lite on the satio...i like to put garmin on dat symbian too..n also i think aino will be able to play 10gb of songs without any lags for me.. i just need a gud camera phone without any lags for me..
I currently have the SE Satio & my phone is "on silent" at all times as I rely on being alerted by the phone's vibration. However, the phone does not vibrate when I receive a message or a call while the re-charging cable is attached.
This is extremely inconvenient as I have to change the phone "profiles" manually all the time otherwise the phone could be ringing for hours & I would not notice.
A couple of days ago my Satio's GPS receiver doesn't work properly any more. I get no specific error messages, it's just trying to connect tot satellites but doesn't succeed. When trying to connect to pinpoint my position, the response (in Dutch) is something like: GPS has a poor performance when you are inside. Google Maps is trying to connect all the time, SportyPal is trying to initialize the GPS all the time.
No connection with satellites whatsoever. I'm not sure, but maybe there's a connection with installing SportyPal on my phone? I installed that about a week ago. I have the latest software/firmware update installed successfully. I restarted the phone a couple of times, left it outside for half an hour to get connected, nothing works.
