Sony Ericsson :: W595 - Firmware Compatibility With HPM-85 Handsfree (Playback Failed)
Aug 1, 2010There's a firmware compatibility issue of W595 with HPM-85 handsfree. Everytime I connect HPM-85 handsfree to my W595 for listening to music, the walkman application pops up with an error message saying "Playback Failed", also, sometimes the handsfree gets disconnected automatically from the firmware and shows a message asking, "Continue Playback Through Speakers" (the firmware disconnects the handsfree automatically even when the handsfree is plugged into the phone).
I checked my HPM- 85 handsfree on other Sony Ericsson phones and turned out that it works fine with no problems mentioned above. Also, I looked up using the handsfree which came with the phone to make sure if my phone had any issue, and it had no problems as above. So I guess its a firmware compatibility issue with HPM-85. I request you to get this issue notified to the Sony Ericsson firmware developers team to fix this bug asap and release a new firmware update.

Oct 14, 2010I updated the W995 firmware yesterday using SEUS. After update firmware is R1HA035. But according to the forums on this site the latest is R1HA036. Why didn't I get the latest? Also after update I turned my phone on and I got the long please wait message. During this message I got a pop up message for Daylight savings update and I selected yes then back to the please wait message. Then phone started normal. Did the pop message effect the firmware installation and shall I reinstall firmware or is everything ok?

Nov 21, 2010I got a new Elm (T-Mobile Germany branded) some days ago and after trying all functions (no problems found), I had it updated to the latest firmware R7CA061 with SEUS. (I've found some threads concerning Elm and GPS-problems in this forum, but they weren't connected to R7CA061). After the update, GPS does not work properly any more, or in other words: it does not really work at all! Neither Assisted GPS (I only tried A-GPS using WIFI) nor unassisted GPS does work. I do not get a lock on my location with Google Maps, also after waiting for more than 10 minutes.
My GPS-position is "jumping around" on the map about one kilometer around my actual position. It's completely inaccurate! I have the feeling that it's even getting worse after some minutes. I also tried the GPS test in the service menu: doesn't work! Switched GPS off and on again: doesn't work! Tried AGPS and GPS: doesn't work! Completely shut down and switch the Elm on again: doesn't work. After reinstalling the latest firmare using SEUS once again - GPS works (assisted and unassisted) and also the GPS test from the service menu works properly. But then, after some minutes, GPS seems to fade away again somehow.
Sony Ericsson :: W995 - Terrible Sound Quality / Any Latest Firmware?
Feb 5, 2010Has anyone else noticed this?, I've tried various music (encoded at different rates which sound fantastic on other audio equipment) and different headphones (via both sockets on the phone). My mate who is in a band and heavily into audiophile stuff agrees that the sound quality is terrible. My old w810i is far better. The top end is to harsh but without any definition and whenever I use one of the EQ settings the music seems to get muddied up and even slightly louder and quieter in sections. I am wondering if this either a bad phone or something to do with the firmware that O2 (UK) uses (I know they alter it as google maps and wayfinder aren't installed). I have used the update service which states I am running the latest firmware. The phone is going back but if the next one is the same then I may have to move phones.

Only thing I can see is the logo of Sony Ericsson when we start the mobile, After then It is not at all starting up. But the key pad lights are blinking for every 30 secs.

Sep 9, 2010I've been using this w595 phone for less than a year, and it started having problems. At first, i used my cable to send lots of songs to my phone. It didn't work, and my 2GB memory card spoiled. I had to transfer stuff to my phone by bluetooth. A few weeks later, i used the cable to transfer my photos to my computer. All my music suddenly disappeared. After i restarted the phone a few times, my music came back. The latest problem that i could not put up with was that all my games including the default games, disappeared after i transferred photos from my phone with the cable(again). I did not eject it properly. I tried restarting my phone several times, but it still didn't work, can anybody help me?

Aug 5, 2010sony ericsson w595 is not working properly. I cannot get into the phone menu at all and so cannot access many things including the phone settings needed to reset it. Moreover the software updater in the pc suite says error repairing every time i try to repair it and if i directly download the updater it says no new software available.

Oct 23, 2010My W595 has stopped recieving messages. My SIM works fine in other phones & can recieve messages. I have been onto my network (3 Ireland) & they have gone through all the possibilities form a network perspective & a phone perspective (as far as was possible) to no avail. It is not the service centre number (I went through that with the network provider) & I have tried resetting the phone but it still didn't work. I have no saved messages or any messages in my inbox, outbox or drafts & I have 21MB of memory left on the phone & 1891 MB left on the memory card so I don't think it's memory issue. I can send SMS messages without a problem but I cannot recieve any. Would anyone be able to advise as to what the problem is? The phone is still under warranty so I'll get it replaced if necessary but this forum may be an easier & quicker way to get this problem taken care of.

Aug 25, 2010I am having this weird issue with my w595 phone. It has worked perfectly for the last 10 months. But, now the display shows up only intermittently. The display goes blank at times. If you wait for an hour or so, it suddenly comes back up and works without any issue for several hours. Then, you wait for a little bit and the screen goes blank again. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Aug 31, 2010I am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.

Sep 5, 2010I was trying to sort my inbox messages according to contacts to view old messages, however a notification that said "operation failed" appeared.
After that, I tried to open my inbox again too, but the same error occured. Whenever I try to open my inbox, the loading sign will appear, then the notification pops up again.
Even after I restarted my phone and etc, the problem still persists.

Oct 26, 2010My Sony Ericsson W595, on Vodafone can not read my memory card. It was working properly until last night when I clicked on Media & Photos, and I was told I had no pictures. I went to file manager and onto the memory card files and it said 'no files'. Does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong with it? My phone memory is still normal and everything else functions properly, except for my memory card. I updated it and I even checked if its placed in properly but nothing seems to help. My memory card is a San Disk M2 with 2GB Memory storage.

Feb 11, 2010want to be able to restrict the outgoing calls completely. So, if i want to make a call then a pincode must be entered and then the call can be made and if the code is wrng then the call cant be made. I tried doing the Menu>settings>managecalls>restrict calls> all outgoing. But when i enter any pincode i get an error saying "all outgoing command error". I currently hve a w595 and if it worked would this work, if this sim was put in any other phone, I mean would it ask for a pincode again or would I have to set tht up separetly on that phone?

Sep 9, 2010hoping someone can help me out here. I have a Sony Ericsson W595 This afternoon I went to make a call and found I couldn't get into my contacts list - I'd press select and nothing would happen. The phone would not be frozen, however. Then, on my "recent calls" list all my contacts' names had been replaced with an "e" with an acute accent. Later, I lost signal so took the battery out and replaced it, which didn't help. My message counter and phone theme were reset but the time and date were not. I removed and replaced the SIM card, which also had no effect. I then put my SIM card in a Motorola Pebl and got full signal and could receive texts again, so I assume it is a phone fault, not a SIM problem.
