Sony Ericsson :: W595 - Firmware Compatibility With HPM-85 Handsfree (Playback Failed)

There's a firmware compatibility issue of W595 with HPM-85 handsfree. Everytime I connect HPM-85 handsfree to my W595 for listening to music, the walkman application pops up with an error message saying "Playback Failed", also, sometimes the handsfree gets disconnected automatically from the firmware and shows a message asking, "Continue Playback Through Speakers" (the firmware disconnects the handsfree automatically even when the handsfree is plugged into the phone).
I checked my HPM- 85 handsfree on other Sony Ericsson phones and turned out that it works fine with no problems mentioned above. Also, I looked up using the handsfree which came with the phone to make sure if my phone had any issue, and it had no problems as above. So I guess its a firmware compatibility issue with HPM-85. I request you to get this issue notified to the Sony Ericsson firmware developers team to fix this bug asap and release a new firmware update.

I am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.

While in playback from playlist, tracks, authors etc phone will display failed and not go onto next song. Using 8gb M2 memory card. Have full formated memory card. Have placed music in root directory or card and in music directory. If you try to play filed song again redisplays failed. However you can forward to next song and it will play. I have tried many combinations and it still fails after each song.

I bought the Spiro about a week ago and immediately bought a memory card so that I could store my music on there. The phone did not come with a USB cable (which I find a bit cheeky as people are expected to pay for a USB cable AND a memory card if they want to use it for it's Walkman function - no wonder it seemed like a bargain price!) SO I bought a memory card (SD Micro with an a larger 'adaptor' memory card to put it in my laptop) but not a usb cable as I can't afford it. However, I was told that I could put music files onto the card from my laptop, put the card in the phone and access them from there.
Now I have done this, I have ripped the music from a CD, saved as MP3, transferred to the memory card, put the card in the phone, located files on the phone but they won't play!!! It just keeps saying 'playback failed' - whether I play through Walkman or File Manager. I have been looking at the FAQs online but there is nothing that is offering me a solution to this problem. I have also contacted Sony Ericsson Support but have heard nothing back yet. I bought the Spiro for its simplicity but it seems I may have made the wrong choice. So as I see it I have shelled out £50 for a phone and £20 for memory card which I cannot currently use.

I have a C902 mobile phone. I have a video saved on my computer which I have converted to a 3GP file and an MP4 file. I copy and paste the video into the "video" folder on my phone using the USB cable. But then the video does not appear on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I have managed to save the video on my phone now in 3GP format. It shows as a thumbnail, gives the correct length etc. But when I want to play it, it says "playback failed".

My w595 is not opening any jar/jad files! Whenever I try to install any java app or game, it says "operation failed". I've reinstalled the firmware, the FS, and even tried the MASTER RESET on it...nothing worked! It used to work fine, one day I copied a lot of java games on it and its been like that ever since even after all the resetting.

I gt my Sony Ericsson w705 repaired recently. The peolple who help me repaired my phone changed my phone's software version to R1GA030 but i found that all my WMA musics files stored in memory card shows "playback failed" whenever i wanna play it. Is it got something to do with the software version? Anyone gt answer about this problem??

I'm thinking of purchasing an elm phone to replace my windows mobile and have been looking compatibility issues with outlook. I can't find anywhere guarenteeing I can sync my outlook contacts and diary with the phone. There seems to be a sync software available but it doesn't seem to have that many details about it just screen shots.

I have been using W595 model phone last 5 months. When I was browsing yesterday, my phone has got restarted. After that I have been trying start my mobile but its not at all starting up. Only thing I can see is the logo of Sony Ericsson when we start the mobile, After then It is not at all starting up. But the key pad lights are blinking for every 30 secs.

I just download a w595 main and fs firmware as those are the latest generic ones from topsony and the fs is Russia but when i searched for a generic Russia custpack i didn't get one. so i got to seusers users and i got a Russia custpack under the w595 category but it was labeled k850 so i was wondering if it would be ok to use it on my w595.

I just spent most of the day getting the PC Suite (6.011.00) to work with IVT BlueSoleil. So here's how I got it to work. I wanted to use Bluetooth but my laptop doesn't have BT so I got the BlueSoleil USB dongle. Basically, Windows failed to install the BlueSoleil device properly yesterday so I ran the BlueSoleil setup.exe. Big Mistake. PC Suite couldn't see Bluetooth at all.
But the BlueSoleil app could do file transfer etc. So the bluetooth pairing/connection etc. was working for BlueSoleil's app but the Sony Ericsson PC Suite couldn't access it at all. Sony Ericsson support were totally useless - they refused to provide any troubleshooting at all for the problem because they don't make the BT dongle. And they wouldn't even recommend a BT dongle that they know to work. Anyway, after much cursing and rebooting, here's what worked:Don't run BlueSoleil's setup.exe!
I uninstalled the IVT BlueSoleil software and uninstalled the BT Radios from the Device Manager. I then rebooted and plugged the dongle in. Windows attempted an install and most of it succeeded but a couple of bits (BT peripheral or something failed). Then the Windows Control Panel / Bluetooth Devices could see my C510. Then running PC Suite allowed it to see BT and go right through to connect to the phone, etc. Hope that might save someone a few hours.

I bought a W595 last year in Jan or Feb.It was working fine until suddenly yesterday the ear speaker malfunctioned.The last call i did before the problem started was fine, the ear speaker worked.But yesterday when i called home, the ear speaker stopped working.My parents could hear me speaking but i couldn't hear them but when i turned on the speaker i could hear them.Is there any way i can fix the ear speaker?

I've been using this w595 phone for less than a year, and it started having problems. At first, i used my cable to send lots of songs to my phone. It didn't work, and my 2GB memory card spoiled. I had to transfer stuff to my phone by bluetooth. A few weeks later, i used the cable to transfer my photos to my computer. All my music suddenly disappeared. After i restarted the phone a few times, my music came back. The latest problem that i could not put up with was that all my games including the default games, disappeared after i transferred photos from my phone with the cable(again). I did not eject it properly. I tried restarting my phone several times, but it still didn't work, can anybody help me?

Anyone know if it will work? - what im after is being able to show family the pictures and vids stored on the phone, on the tv using the cable is this possible on the w595.

sony ericsson w595 is not working properly. I cannot get into the phone menu at all and so cannot access many things including the phone settings needed to reset it. Moreover the software updater in the pc suite says error repairing every time i try to repair it and if i directly download the updater it says no new software available.

My W595 has stopped recieving messages. My SIM works fine in other phones & can recieve messages. I have been onto my network (3 Ireland) & they have gone through all the possibilities form a network perspective & a phone perspective (as far as was possible) to no avail. It is not the service centre number (I went through that with the network provider) & I have tried resetting the phone but it still didn't work. I have no saved messages or any messages in my inbox, outbox or drafts & I have 21MB of memory left on the phone & 1891 MB left on the memory card so I don't think it's memory issue. I can send SMS messages without a problem but I cannot recieve any. Would anyone be able to advise as to what the problem is? The phone is still under warranty so I'll get it replaced if necessary but this forum may be an easier & quicker way to get this problem taken care of.

What's better? I now that they are different mobiles but what would you choose? I know that the K850i takes ugly Photos (sharpness) and has some problem with its "OS" (you have to reset it every time). I had no knowledge of bad opinions about the W595.

I am looking for a handsfree adapter for my W350a. The one I have is about 5 inches long with a phone connector at one end a 3.5mm female mini jack plug at the other. I have looked at the ATT stores and Best Buy, and also ATT online stores. I can't find it, and almost everyone I talk to tries to point me at headsets with earbuds. I use this adapter to plug in my own headphones and listen to music and educational recordings.
A couple of days ago I got a hold of someone through Sony's online chat who seemed to know what I needed, but the links she sent me were for earbuds. Now the online chat resource seems to have disappeared from Sony's website. Did something change September 1st? I haven't received any response through e-mail except confirmation that they received my e-mail. Does anyone have a reliable online source for this product?

I was just wondering if anybody else knew about the following or if it is wrong and may harm my phone. I went onto the playnow site on my phone via internet search. Whilst on it I scrolled down the bottom of the screen and clicked free stuff and lots more stuff came up available than when I go on playnow on my laptop. I downloaded a few and they all seem to work although they pop up with a strange type of keypad thing under neath the application when its open.
I then went back onto the play now site. I was on and was looking about when I noticed it had a bit that said : country - uk your phone - w880i. I didn't put this in it was already there. Mine is the Vivaz handset and yet the applications seem to work ok under the w880i phone. Should it not be compatible? should I remove the apps I downloaded this way of my phone to prevent a problem etc? I am so confused at the moment as to whether it is safe etc. for my phone. As I didn't expect it to happen. I always thought when you go onto a site like play now it would know what phone is being used.

I am having this weird issue with my w595 phone. It has worked perfectly for the last 10 months. But, now the display shows up only intermittently. The display goes blank at times. If you wait for an hour or so, it suddenly comes back up and works without any issue for several hours. Then, you wait for a little bit and the screen goes blank again. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?
