While in playback from playlist, tracks, authors etc phone will display failed and not go onto next song. Using 8gb M2 memory card. Have full formated memory card. Have placed music in root directory or card and in music directory. If you try to play filed song again redisplays failed. However you can forward to next song and it will play. I have tried many combinations and it still fails after each song.
View 1 RepliesI bought the Spiro about a week ago and immediately bought a memory card so that I could store my music on there. The phone did not come with a USB cable (which I find a bit cheeky as people are expected to pay for a USB cable AND a memory card if they want to use it for it's Walkman function - no wonder it seemed like a bargain price!) SO I bought a memory card (SD Micro with an a larger 'adaptor' memory card to put it in my laptop) but not a usb cable as I can't afford it. However, I was told that I could put music files onto the card from my laptop, put the card in the phone and access them from there.
Now I have done this, I have ripped the music from a CD, saved as MP3, transferred to the memory card, put the card in the phone, located files on the phone but they won't play!!! It just keeps saying 'playback failed' - whether I play through Walkman or File Manager. I have been looking at the FAQs online but there is nothing that is offering me a solution to this problem. I have also contacted Sony Ericsson Support but have heard nothing back yet. I bought the Spiro for its simplicity but it seems I may have made the wrong choice. So as I see it I have shelled out £50 for a phone and £20 for memory card which I cannot currently use.
Trying to set my own music to ringtones and its not working. Tried converting to wav file and shortened to 30 seconds that didn't work, converting shorter version to mp3 didn't work. How do I make it happen? I have a W518a.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere's a firmware compatibility issue of W595 with HPM-85 handsfree. Everytime I connect HPM-85 handsfree to my W595 for listening to music, the walkman application pops up with an error message saying "Playback Failed", also, sometimes the handsfree gets disconnected automatically from the firmware and shows a message asking, "Continue Playback Through Speakers" (the firmware disconnects the handsfree automatically even when the handsfree is plugged into the phone).
I checked my HPM- 85 handsfree on other Sony Ericsson phones and turned out that it works fine with no problems mentioned above. Also, I looked up using the handsfree which came with the phone to make sure if my phone had any issue, and it had no problems as above. So I guess its a firmware compatibility issue with HPM-85. I request you to get this issue notified to the Sony Ericsson firmware developers team to fix this bug asap and release a new firmware update.
I have a C902 mobile phone. I have a video saved on my computer which I have converted to a 3GP file and an MP4 file. I copy and paste the video into the "video" folder on my phone using the USB cable. But then the video does not appear on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I have managed to save the video on my phone now in 3GP format. It shows as a thumbnail, gives the correct length etc. But when I want to play it, it says "playback failed".

The problem I have is when the phone locks me into GPRS, it becomes a virtual paper weight. It works great if I can get it to lock onto Edge by walking around enough. With the T-Mobile wireless broadband I can browse stations, but when trying to play a station it states "Playback Failed". When trying to connect through my w/lan (which works, as I can use it to browse the internet) the "Internet Radio Applet" states "No Network Connection". After trying this several times I have uninstalled the applet from the phone memory and installed it again in the 8 GB mass memory. No change - the same problems persist. What is wrong with Internet Radio on the N95 8GB?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just started using a W980i, phone works fine, it is on the O2 network, when I am in a 2g signal area i can connect to the internet, use google maps etc, but, when i am in a 3G HSDPA area, identified by the 'H' symbol on screen the phone will not connect to internet, i keep getting a 'connection error' come up, I put the same sim card into a Motorola and it worked fine, so it has to be a setting on the Sony phone, (i have also recieved all current software updates, and the connection settings from o2 & sony, direct to the phone)

Accept from today I have tried to send texts but then find that they are waiting in the outbox saying it will try to resend the message again in a few minutes. I have tried to send a text to other contacts to see if it was a problem with the other person but this still happens. The message wont actually send. I sometimes receive a text saying that "You have a message waiting but your inbox is full" and it says that I should delete my inbox to create space. So i now have an empty inbox and still receive this text... Lastly I have tried to update my phone but this still hasn't fixed this problem! Is there anyway of fixing this?

It used to work fine, but now my computer gives me a "Device has malfunctioned. Please reconnect or replace the device".I have all the proper drivers installed for it but it still doesn't make a difference. I also tried using 3 other cables, and 4 different computers, but it still doesn't work. I think it's a problem with the fast port, and i tried cleaning it with ispropyl alcohol and cotton but it still doesn't work. I even tried using a needle to get some of the residue off the fast port and it still doesn't work.

I have deleted files but the error is still coming up. This seemed to occur after storing a large amount of data on my 8GB M2 card. I have tasken the card out but the phone still has error. Tried updating software but it says it is the latest. Also done a Reset settings from Master reset - error still occurs. Everytime I switch on phone the free memory is sometime 10MB. 6.1MB or 4.9MB.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.
I have W715 unlocked from Vodafone. Using it in US with AT&T. Trying to use video call function, but keep saying "Video Call Failed".Do I have to change any setting in oder to use video call?
