I have W715 unlocked from Vodafone. Using it in US with AT&T. Trying to use video call function, but keep saying "Video Call Failed".Do I have to change any setting in oder to use video call?

I've looked in the phones 'Language' menu and Welsh wasn't there but I was wondering if there was any other way to get the language into the phone (eg. by connecting to my computer and using an update service by Sony). I realize that this is unlikely and may not even exist but I really want Welsh on my phone. To clarify. I want to change the 'Phone language' and not the 'Writing language'. My phone is a W715.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have Sony Ericsson W715 Walkman phone and I try to find a way to play and view my mp3 files in media player as their folder structure is when I copied them to phone memory card - but have had no luck. The problem is that most music I listen is in a mixed form - lots of folders (witch name i like to see and choose in the player) and each consist about 20 various songs. In player under "Music" menu are items like "Artists", "Albums", "Tracks"... but no Folders. I cannot find any folder that way as "Albums" menu shows album name in ID3 tag but my folder structure is different (in one folder songs ID3 has different album name). So I have like 500 artists, 200 albums, 1500 tracks and no way to find what i want - for example to play one folder contents continuously. Only way I can think of right now seems to change all my mp3 ID3-tag album names same as my folder structure names but that choice is really bad because I don't want to lose original ID3 info and also modifying is really tedious when have to change few hundred folders of songs. So am I missing something obvious or what should I do to enable that simple behavior described above? One more thought - maybe in phone is some config file available where album names are stored and change all album names to folder names in there and not running "Update media" after that?

I copy and paste the video into the "video" folder on my phone using the USB cable. But then the video does not appear on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I have managed to save the video on my phone now in 3GP format. It shows as a thumbnail, gives the correct length etc. But when I want to play it, it says "playback failed".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just started using a W980i, phone works fine, it is on the O2 network, when I am in a 2g signal area i can connect to the internet, use google maps etc, but, when i am in a 3G HSDPA area, identified by the 'H' symbol on screen the phone will not connect to internet, i keep getting a 'connection error' come up, I put the same sim card into a Motorola and it worked fine, so it has to be a setting on the Sony phone, (i have also recieved all current software updates, and the connection settings from o2 & sony, direct to the phone)

Accept from today I have tried to send texts but then find that they are waiting in the outbox saying it will try to resend the message again in a few minutes. I have tried to send a text to other contacts to see if it was a problem with the other person but this still happens. The message wont actually send. I sometimes receive a text saying that "You have a message waiting but your inbox is full" and it says that I should delete my inbox to create space. So i now have an empty inbox and still receive this text... Lastly I have tried to update my phone but this still hasn't fixed this problem! Is there anyway of fixing this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems connecting my W580i to my computer via usb cable (it is an original sony Ericsson cable). It used to work fine, but now my computer gives me a "Device has malfunctioned. Please reconnect or replace the device".I have all the proper drivers installed for it but it still doesn't make a difference. I also tried using 3 other cables, and 4 different computers, but it still doesn't work. I think it's a problem with the fast port, and i tried cleaning it with ispropyl alcohol and cotton but it still doesn't work. I even tried using a needle to get some of the residue off the fast port and it still doesn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile in playback from playlist, tracks, authors etc phone will display failed and not go onto next song. Using 8gb M2 memory card. Have full formated memory card. Have placed music in root directory or card and in music directory. If you try to play filed song again redisplays failed. However you can forward to next song and it will play. I have tried many combinations and it still fails after each song.

I have deleted files but the error is still coming up. This seemed to occur after storing a large amount of data on my 8GB M2 card. I have tasken the card out but the phone still has error. Tried updating software but it says it is the latest. Also done a Reset settings from Master reset - error still occurs. Everytime I switch on phone the free memory is sometime 10MB. 6.1MB or 4.9MB.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.
I am in the process of buying a W595. The main thing that troubles me is a VERY short call history list. According to specifications this is 10 + 10 + 10 for received, dialed and missed calls. Is there a way to keep records of at least 100 or hopefully more incoming and outgoing calls?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the Spiro about a week ago and immediately bought a memory card so that I could store my music on there. The phone did not come with a USB cable (which I find a bit cheeky as people are expected to pay for a USB cable AND a memory card if they want to use it for it's Walkman function - no wonder it seemed like a bargain price!) SO I bought a memory card (SD Micro with an a larger 'adaptor' memory card to put it in my laptop) but not a usb cable as I can't afford it. However, I was told that I could put music files onto the card from my laptop, put the card in the phone and access them from there.
Now I have done this, I have ripped the music from a CD, saved as MP3, transferred to the memory card, put the card in the phone, located files on the phone but they won't play!!! It just keeps saying 'playback failed' - whether I play through Walkman or File Manager. I have been looking at the FAQs online but there is nothing that is offering me a solution to this problem. I have also contacted Sony Ericsson Support but have heard nothing back yet. I bought the Spiro for its simplicity but it seems I may have made the wrong choice. So as I see it I have shelled out £50 for a phone and £20 for memory card which I cannot currently use.
Had the W995 for about a month now and after a week it started playing up. At first it occasionally wouldn't let me make calls and would just come out with 3 beeps and return to the contact list. Then it started to become more frequent until it started to not let me answer any calls. when I press accept call or slide open the phone it just hangs up on the person instead. This is actually starting to make a lot of people angry at me now as they think I am just repeatedly hanging up on them, and I have to spend a good chunk of my day explaining whats going on through text (which works fine). I haven't successfully talked to anyone with my phone for days now, and I know its not a signal issue as I have had full many of the times I have received or made calls.
