When I tried to update the firmware in a Mexican made Nokia C7 (Latest available software for your device: Version::013.016), it said it had the latest but when I updated the same model made in Hungary the firmware was (Latest available software for your device: Version::025.007) much newer than in the former one. Why is this?
View 1 RepliesYesterday evening Ovi Suite proposed new firmware (14.002). I tried to install it, which was a mistake During the installation Suite lost connection to the phone and as I checked the phone it was in test mode. It didn't respond to any keys so I had to remove the battery. After that the phone has been dead. When I try to boot it up or try to hard reset it with three-finger-salute the only response is a short vibration. After vibration the phone stays dead.Removing battery does not change anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was updating my Nokia C5-00 (RM-645) from Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90 (latest downloaded today). I was updating to latest release of 071.005. C5-00 battery was fully charged and I was updating through my laptop. Nokia Ovi suite downloaded firmware (some 128mb). while installing after some 4-5 min in the midway of installing it noticed "something wrong". It instructed me to remove micro usb from phone and reconnect it. I did like that again and again it gave same instructions and at last nothing happened.
Now my phone is switched off and it's not getting on... I can feel the vibration when I press Power on button but It's not working and even I tried (*+3+Green+Power on) button combition to reset, even that's also not working.. Now if I connect to Ovi suite, my phone is not ditected by Ovi suite. what I have to do now?
I was updating the firmware of my C7 today when my computer crashed and BSOD appeared. Now, the phone is dead and I am unable to start it up. When I push the power on button, the phone vibrates for a second and that's it!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI owned nokia C6-01 for about 2 months and update my firmware to PR1.2. I also put the 'notification widget' on my first homescreen. The notification will notify incoming message and miss call event. Recently, I noticed that widget didn't prompt any message notification even though I received a new message. I thought this must be widget problem. So I remove that widget.
However, when received new message, the phone not show a new message alert. But, the message icon (on top right,if in portrait mode) can be accessed to preview the message. To revert back my phone to normal, which to normalized 'notification widget', I restarted the phone. And put back 'notification widget' on my first homescreen. Then, everything was fine. Until for a few days,the problem same still after my phone.
I updated my nokia c2-01(ver 11.2) through nokia suite. After that my phone's headphone jack is not working. Even I reinstalled update .....

Now it doesn't want to connect to Gmail. Says "Unable to connect to imap.gmail.com Server name or port number may be incorrect". Everything, including the Gmail access was working perfectly until yesterday when I installed the firmware update.I am just curious, how could a reputable company like Nokia release such a **bleep** firmware update? Or this is what we suppose to be getting with this free amature software?
View 15 Replies View RelatedGot the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...

The update cannot be performed using WIFI.The phone displays the confirmation message: "You are about to connect to the internet. ..." I have a Bell Blackberry Bold 9700 and I just switch to Rogers! Would it be *better if I flash the rogers firmware on the phone, or leave it with the bell firmware? (even after restore factory settings).. plus my conversations menu showing a couple of msgs as standalone. apart from that i cant see Internet videos no matter what i do. i've followed a way to do it, a lot of people were succesful in doing it but i cant get it to work. i guess reinstalling firmware might work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI work with a Nokia C5-00 operator locked (Movistar Spain) one month ago. When I connect it thru Ovi Suite (in a Windows 7 box), a firmware update was available, and yesterday I tried to do the upgrade.
Ovi Suite detected my phone, and a few moments later, backup its contents, and started to download the new firmware. Troubles came when Ovi Suite began to do the update, as it failed with a "Network Connect Error" when started to do the process.
Screen of my phone went completely white, and after disconnecting the USB cable, the phone simply died, except when I press the red button (it makes a vibration, but screen doesn't turn on). If I reconnect the phone to the computer, Windows try to install a "Nokia USB ROM" device, but unsuccessfully.
Can I make a sort of "reset" to revive my phone?
Is this official firmware that is coming for our C6-00 devices?
