BB Torch 9800 Smartphone :: Text Message Notifies Staying As Unread Text Message?
Aug 18, 2010The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

Jun 22, 2011I have been facing this problem since quie some time. I am using BB Cuve 8520 and everytime I restart my phone, one of the old text messages is shown as unread. I have to read that message and then the notification goes from the screen. It happens everytime I restart my phone. (hard/soft reset)?

IPhone :: Open The Text Message Inbox Without Opening The New Text Message?
Jun 11, 2012I just want to know if there is a way that I can open my text message "inbox" without haivng to open a new text message that I have. I used to have a droid. When I clicked on the message icon, it would open to the full inbox, just not the conversation with the new text message. I want to know if there is a way I can do this with my iPhone as well.

Aug 17, 2011My pearl 9105 has a bbm message unread indicator at the screen top for several days now and will not go away despite clearing all chats etc.Taking battery out just means message is accompanied by flashing red light!

Nov 3, 2012For a week now, my torch has the icon in the upper bar that improperly shows how many unread msgs I have. I have read all my messages and it always shows me one unread.I realize it's not a serious issue, but could somebody offer advice on how to fix this? Seems like the OS hiccuped somewhere. Batt pull does not help. Otherwise the phone works perfectly

Apr 21, 2010I have an unread message icon that cannot be deleted. This has only started happening since I downloaded the newest VZW 5.0 patch. I know this thread has been done for multiple reasons but I have tried all the normal fixes.
*Mark all prior unread.
*Search saved
*Multiple battery pulls
*etc etc etc
None of this is working. Anyone know of any other fixes?
BB Bold 9700 :: Unread Bbm Message - Deleted
Jun 14, 2010For the past few days my blackberry has said i have an unread bbm message then yesterday it started to say I have 2. I`ve tried taking out the battery deleting all chats and messages on my phone and also deleting bbm all together and even when i did this it still said I had the unread messages. I have no group updates nor have I synced a blackberry messenger contact with an existing phonebook contact. The only thing I think it may be is someone I`ve deleted trying to contact be but I`ve removed all deleted contacts from my ignored list so why arn`t the chats showing up?

Feb 9, 2010Randomly, my bold restarted by itself (hasn't done this once since I upgraded the OS 3 months ago). Ever since it restarted, it's had the unread message icon saying I have 4 unread messages. I went to every folder and marked all prior unopened and checked to makesure nothing was unread. The icon wouldn't go away, it even stayed with the read star. Overnight, I got 6 new emails, so it told me I had 10 unread messages. I deleted the 6 new ones, and the icon is still there with the read star saying I have 10 unread now
Any ideas? I pulled the battery already twice and nothing

Jul 20, 2010Okay..I've tried everything: Soft reset, hard reset [including holding alt, del & right shift], battery pull,
hidden folders, mark prior opened, using the Backup & Restore off of DM to erase the SMS messages
resending the service books.
It's not on the messages, but the SMS & MMS Message tab. And it's not just one, it says 22. And it's really annoying. Any ideas?

Sep 24, 2012The unread message indicator for a mailbox does not always clear after reading all new messages in the inbox. I have multiple inboxes, sometime after reading or opening all messages; or "mark all messages open" the red asterisk is still displayed with the the mailbox icon. The unread message count is 0, i.e.. Not displayed. The only way I can clear the red asterisk is to change inbox settings and save. I usually de-select and re-select an option so i get he save changes dialog. This does not always happen but happens enough to be aggravating since i have 5 mailboxes and use the indicator to determine which one i need to open for new messages. I recently upgrades from a 9650 which did NOT have this behavior.

Jun 13, 2010When I upgraded to BB OS 5.0 I now have my message indicator default is 10 unread messages. I have gone into SMS, Email, missed calls and have asked to have all messages marked as prior read and it doesn't go away.
so if my day starts with 10 messages marked as unread and I get new ones thru the day it goes up and as I read these messages it goes down BUT never goes below 10.
If I have to reboot due to an app upgrade It may go up, not always but sometimes, I am now @ a steady 14 unread messages according to my message indicator. I really have NO unread messages

Unzip the software and send it to ur cell via active sync.Find it using file explorer and run the program.

Dec 19, 2011I am using BB9860 (OS7). After couple of days proper operation, now always i am getting 1 message as unread in email.
Even i have opened individually all the mails inthe inbox and marked as Read. But still showing 1 message as unread. If new 5 messages comes to the inbox then it shows as 6 message as unread. After reading 5 messages the alter goes back to 1 message as unread. how to clear this message.

Jul 21, 2010I'm experiencing a weird glitch that no one (including tech support at Verizon) seems to be able to figure out. I have a gmail account set up on my Bold 9650 and everything works properly EXCEPT that I cannot get it to show me the message count of unread messages (which usually should show up in parenthesis when I scroll over the account envelope icon). It seems that this is an issue with the Bold 9650 in particular because I have gotten the gmail unread message count to work on other blackberry devices, but not my (or another friend's) Bold 9650.

Sep 7, 2010I have an errant "unopened" mail icon, It was on my old BlackBerry (an 8830) and when I got my new BlackBerry 9650, all was good, until I completed my enterprise synchronization, and guess what came back? now heres the rub, it shows (and as it did before) That it is a "Optimum on Line" email, not the email that is pushed by my enterprise server. So neither tech support will own the problem.

Jan 29, 2011Is there any way I can set one of my email accounts to not affect the unread message count on the main screen? I've already got it set to not give any notification (noise, LED or vibration) and not be included in the main message list.
I can only find one global setting to show the unread message indicator or not show it.
Maybe I'll just have to settle for disabling the indicator. The alternative is to use the gmail app, but I prefer the built-in email interface.
