Aug 22, 2014Probably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.

Sep 3, 2015I have a Samsung s6 running 5.1.1 however when I'm at the gym with my headphones in the volume turns itself down to mute.
It's not a button being accidently pressed as when I turn it back up whilst still in my hand it turns back down..
I have the sound alive turned off and the volume adjustment setting is off. I've tried a restore. It's getting on my nerves now to be honest as when I'm running on the treadmill I either have to stop or just run with no music on.

Feb 12, 2010I have noticed this problem for awhile now. I did a search on the forum and noticed that others are having the problem but I don't see a solution. When I set the volume on the track I am playing either to a low setting or a high setting it always resets itself to what sounds like about 65-75% of the max volume.For example, if I set the volume at max with audio boost, it will lower the volume. If I have the volume set to 30%, it will increase to the "standard" setting.This only seems to affect the headphones (aux jack), I tried it with the external speaker and it stays the same. I have tried it with audio boost on and off, and have enabled and disabled enhanced audio.This is a terrible problem, it renders the media player almost a hazard, especially if you are riding a bike or driving a car and have to play with the volume between every song.

I want the phone to always vibrate, regardless of whether the ringer is on or not. I don't want the volume button to adjust vibration.

I have had this problem with three devices (all 9000's) and have had each replaced because I was told that it was a hardware error by the AT&T rep. However, I have done some testing on additional devices (corp. environment) and have been able to reproduce the issue, or more accurately stated, I have been able to observe the issue occurring on each device in my test group over time.Basically, when the device is new, the button works very snappy. Over time, looks like 2-3 months, the button begins to show intermittent issues and takes longer and longer being held down to activate the function (starting or sleeping). Eventually, this function has quit working on every device I've tested (out of the box devices with no apps beyond the delivered ones installed). Removing the battery repeatedly and on a regular schedule of once a week has not had an impact on the issue during testing or in Prod. Being new to supporting these devices I looked around and did some searching but haven't found a solution that has worked for our situation.

Jun 29, 2014I was looking at pictures in my photos and next thing you know when I try to turn my volume up, it doesn't work. I switched the slider on the side and it still doesn't work. I turned my phone off and it for some reason didnt stay on. it restarted itself and came back on.what is wrong with my volume? i already tried going to general > reset all settings and it didn't do anything!

May 10, 2012today i tried listening to music on my iphone 4s,only to find that my volume adjuster had disappeared.and just to clarify,when i say that it disappeared,i mean that when i press the volume buttons on my phone,i see the speaker icon but the gauge bar is gone. i tried to test if this issue was only happening in one place, by checking out if i could adjust my volume through my Internet app. unforuntately, the volume slider has disappeared from the app as well.
