Sep 7, 2010On my iphone 4, the volume buttons all of a sudden stopped turning up or down the volume. This is also bad because I cant do bitesms quick reply. Im sure that this is a software issue but does anyone know what the problem is or what cydia app/theme/etc would have caused this?

now when i am trying to watch a YouTube video for example, or typing clicks- there is no sound coming out of the phone speaker. whenever i press the volume buttons up/down, the "ringer" square comes on but no volume bars are displayed. whenever i watch a YouTube or listen to a podcast i can not raise or lower the volume on the screen either. i do hear the phone ring, and hear alarms through the speaker. Â
i have tried a 'shut down' and then a 'reset' (pressing power/home button together to power down). but i could not lower or raise volume either. i can listen w/headphones, and AirPlay. i updated the iOS a while ago (2 months?) and this happened much after the update.

This started when a call came and ever since then the phone is constantly vibrating. Can feel the motor running at the back but not sure why it is running in such a hyper mode. May 20, 2012All of a sudden I have a problem with the volume on my phone. I know it isn't a problem with the speakers as all my videos play normally with sounds, and when I try to change the ringtone, it plays. However, I cannot adjust the volume using the volume buttons on the side, and the silence switch doesn't work...when I press any of them, there is no on screen confirmation of a change. The ohphone also doesn't play any noise when I have an incoming call or text. But I like I said, I can play videos with sound, I can go to settings and sound and hear the ringtones. I have reset, and restored the phone but nothing has made any difference.

I've had to reboot my N5 each and every time, and its getting very old very fast. I find I have to go into settings and change it there. I've read that there might be an app running that is using my volume, not allowing me to change it. When I went into my apps to see what's running, its the usual stuff. Nothing that would be using it. So, is there an app to find out if there is a rogue app running I don't know about?

Apr 23, 2015My power button suddenly stopped working this morning. I think it may have worked once with a really long delay... But since then I have to tap my screen a few times to wake it up. I'm worried that if my battery ever runs flat I won't be able to turn my phone back on.
Then I have realised my volume and camera buttons dont work either. They definitely all worked yesterday.
I'm really not happy with this phone. I look after it properly, it cost me a lot of money not long ago, its kept in a protective case and has never been dropped etc. I spent more money than I could afford on a phone thinking I should buy the best I can and I shouldn't have a problem with it being Sony, but so far I have been disappointed with it.

Apr 28, 2014Attached image shows that when I make a call or receive it, my screen does not show dialer buttons, mute button, or the additional caller/conference button. I have looked at all different settings that I could think of but can't seem to fix this. I have tried this using headset as well as speaker phone.
I was able to bring up dialer button (only) if I go to home screen during the call and open up phone again. This time I can use the dialer buttons but still no mute or conf buttons.

Sep 8, 2010I just noticed this today that when I'm playing a song on my phone, the volume buttons act as the media player as well switching to the next song. I would often try to increase or decrease the volume, and I realize I can't. I tried a battery pull hoping that would solve the issue. It's frustrating how a person can't hear music at all, and having no use of the volume buttons. I am still under my 30 day warranty, I'm considering taking it back and exchanging for a new one.

I have yet to complete a phone conversation without hitting one of these buttons with my cheek. I cannot for the life of me find a way in Options to stop these buttons from appearing during phone calls.I am actually considering returning the phone over this.

Aug 22, 2014Probably 60% of the time when I hit the volume down button the option to change the Ringer/Notifications and the Media/Apps volume comes up. I can then, of course, mute the volume on each of those or obviously adjust the volume. However, the other 40% of the time, only the volume for Media/Apps comes up, with no option for the Ringer.
I think this tends to happen when I'm in my car which is communicating with my phone via Bluetooth....could that have a connection to this issue? Also, is there an easier way to mute the phone quickly? Cortana does not seem to perform the mute feature.

Sep 3, 2015I have a Samsung s6 running 5.1.1 however when I'm at the gym with my headphones in the volume turns itself down to mute.
It's not a button being accidently pressed as when I turn it back up whilst still in my hand it turns back down..
I have the sound alive turned off and the volume adjustment setting is off. I've tried a restore. It's getting on my nerves now to be honest as when I'm running on the treadmill I either have to stop or just run with no music on.
