She wanted to get the Droid X tomorrow and she went into the Verizon store earlier today. We got lunch and the Verizon employee told her that the Droid X has a better screen resolution, better android apps, does HD video unlike the iPhone 4, and is cheaper.Why do they lie?
View 24 RepliesI called the Stanford Mall Apple store to check if they have any iPhone 4 32GB available. The guy that answered told me that they had limited stock but if I come to the store tonight I should be able to get one. I rushed to the store and got there 45 mins later. I walked in and the sales lady with glasses and short hair asked me how she can help me. I asked politely if they have 32GB iPhone 4 in stock and she quickly answered no. I told her that I called earlier and they told me they have some in stock and she still said no. By then I was confused and walked out the store. Just to confirm I called the Stanford Mall Apple store and asked if they have 32GB iPhone 4 in stock and the guy on the phone confirmed they do. So I walked back in to the store and approached a male sales person. I asked again if they have 32GB iPhone 4 in stock and he replied yes. So by then I knew the lady lied to me. I was able to buy the phone, but it just upsets me that people would lie like that especially to customers. I would understand if the store was busy but it was half empty.
My question for everyone how would you handle the situation if you were in my shoes? I was upset at the time, but I didn't want to cause a scene at the store. I obviously wouldn't want anyone else to experience what I just experienced.

I hooked up my razr maxx to my tv via HDMI (which worked) but my screen size was a little off. Well, instead of adjusting the overlay slider, i changed the resolution of the HDMI going out of my phone to 1920 x 1080.... Well my TV does not support that resolution. Now when I connect it to the television via HDMI cable, TV says no input, droid switches to a mode that turns the screen black and creates an image on screen that looks like the mouse and two buttons on a laptop. The phone assumes that the image is being displayed via HDMI so it does not show it on the screen. The problem is i changed my outgoing video resolution to some wrong setting. The option to change this is only available when your phone is connected to another vidoe source and you can see it on the display of that other device. how i can adjust it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedStrangely enough, I do. I miss 4.0 over the 4.0.1 I had to restore to after my 4.0 restore froze up using SHSH blob. I know it makes no difference for reception, and I know that 4.0.1 reports it more accurately, and it's small, but I preferred easily attaining full bars and being lied to :P
View 24 Replies View RelatedI noticed that sometimes when an app is loading after selecting it from the app store, the icon is very high res when it has the loading bar.After the app loads and installs,the icon makes a noticable shift to a low res version.It is definitely not because the icon is grayed out, you can visibly see the switch from high res to low res.Anyone know how to fix this?No idea why an icon would show in high res then switch for no reason.

Joshua Topolsky was asking if the new screen would allow more things to be seen compared to previous iPhones (think of a list higher resolution should allow you to see more in a given area). I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.

I've been able to set a streaming solution through VLC to my nokia device and can stream netTV, movies, DVD discs, webcam from my personal PC. Through the tests, i've found that the maximum resolution is width=352, height=288 which is 11:9 aspect ratio. Of course i can set 16:9 ratio which again has the limitation of the width=352. Every pixel above 352 makes the nokia response in "Unable to play video clip".So obviously there is some limitation in the resolutions through live streams. When i play a video from the Memory Card, 640*360 is supported without a problem.The problem is, that i have access to several streams , which are live TVs and i can watch only those, that are below 352 pixels wide. Those that are in resolution 448*336 don't play, although the format and the codecs of the stream are the same as with the 352*288.So, is there a way , that i can remove these limitations, or at least allow the Real Player to play streaming links with higher than 352 pxls width?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe back replaces the (extended) battery cover and it a bit thicker and heavier but not bad at all. It fits well on the phone, no issues and the back of the phone remains flat (no uneven raised portions on the cover). The cover connects to the four charing pins on the back of the phone (under the cover) so you don't need any cables that use the usb port as on some of the third party wireless phone chargers.Setup was as simple as changing the back of the phone, powering the charging pad and laying the phone on the pad. I didn't time how long it too to charge but when my phone was down 50% it didn't seem longer than the usb charger. There is an indicator on the pad that lets you know when the phone is not charging (off or not properly placed on the pad), charging or fully charged and an audible that sounds when you place the phone correctly on the pad.
You can feel when the phone is correctly placed as if there's a magnet in the pad and phone back. The bottom of the phone overhands the pad by about 1/2 inch. I was planning to get a picture frame type holder to prop up the pad so the phone can be easily viewed on my desk. With the phone being longer than the pad, it might not work as well as I wanted but I can probably still do it in landscape mode.
If both Verizon phone and data service are discontinued, will a Droid Razr still function (especially, will internet access via Wi-Fi still function)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI only use the contacts synched from my Google account on my phone, so I have absolutely no need for Verizon's "Backup Assistant" - yet it's running on my phone anyway and I don't know how to disable it (short of killing it from a task manager - which I've read is not a good idea). When I go to Menu->Manage Apps->Running, I see "Backup Assistant" and another application with the same icon named "Sync Service" both running - using 1.6MB and 2.7MB of RAM respectively. It doesn't give you the option of uninstalling it from the app drawer like other apps do. Is there a way to disable it without rooting the phone?
