I'm using rooted 2.3.5 KI3 firmware and I've downloaded a nice .zip file boot animation that I want to use on my phone.. Firstly I tried finding the bootanimation file using ASTRO and found 3 files...
/sbin/bootanimation
/sbin/bootanimation.sh (tiny file size)
/system/bin/bootanimation
...and none of them state their file type. I understand I'd need to backup/rename the file before I replace it with bootanimation.zip ?I also tried flashing the .zip file in CWM recovery mode, but I hadn't renamed the file to bootanimation.zip and the update aborted. Would this be necessary for it to work?
Have tried to change s6's resolution to 1080p or even 720p? From some reading i did, there seems to be a significant performance boost and a negligible battery improvement. ON S6 5.1.1 ...
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you take a pic with the camera it lands in the camera roll. If I email it I get the option to send the "Original" (2592x1936 @ 72dpi). If I then take it out of the camera roll and copy it to a folder that syncs back to the phone and I try to email it, it then shows the original as 2056x1536 @ 72dpi. The original on the computer stays at the original resolution of 2592x1936 but iTunes re-reses it on the fly. Does anyone know of a way to stop iTunes from optimizing (changing the resolution) of the photos being copied back? I like to keep the camera roll empty and reorganizing the photos into folders.

The existing game that I had previously will operate when I put in the older (Smaller) SD card. Photos and music transferred over, but not with the correct file path. Therefore they con not be viewed. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work it out, previous discussion threads have not correctly outlined the procedure. Having the expandable memory is designed to make this phone more marketable. Not telling people how to do it makes the phone significantly less marketable.

I have tried the 5.1.1 version from UK, but that failed too just after a second of pressing Odin, what to do now.
I have a galaxy s6 g920f and i recently updated it to 5.1.1 via odin wih build number bofj;I'm not liking the firmware as it cant be rooted via pingpong so i tried cf auto root but it stuck on the boot screen so is there anyway to root it? Or can I downgrade to 5.0.2 back and i have seen some guys who reset the knox counter (which is shown in the bootloader) so I have got knox 01 (00500) is there anyway I can get it back to zero?

This morning it asked to update, I accepted. Ever since the update when booting it is stuck on the red verizon screen. I have tried clearing the cache and doing a factory reset, no changes.
when I turn on my s5 it just keeps scrolling and I cant access anything

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy puppy cracked the glass on my Galaxy S5. There are some very impt pictures from construction damages to my home. When the glass was fixed the phone was given to me without my password and then I noticed it had been wiped.
It had been at a previous store for some time while they waited on the screen and then went to another place where it was replaced overnight. Both places are claiming they did not wipe my phone. Now I have a blank phone with no proof of thousands of dollars worth of damages. It was not backed up on google.
I got a Samsung S6, been good for 6-7 months now. Today it just shut off, battery was at 25-35%. I turned it on and it has since been stuck on the logo screen. I searched it up on the internet and tried doing a reboot with Volume down and Power/lock screen, but it just goes back to the logo screen and wont go past it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedGot the update last week and not enjoying it so far (have yet to do factory reset). My main problem (besides lag) is that my phone keeps going to Mute either when I grab it or whatnot, I'm not sure. I keep on Vibrate and keep it in my shirt pocket typically (at work). It seems that handling my phone I somehow change the speaker modes without knowing it. Is there any way to lock the mode so that it won't change when the phone is locked? I don't mind being able to change the volume of audio output when the screen is off but for it to be able to switch to Mute or On is not something I want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i have a sprint s6 with 5.1.1 OBE. I have flashed a kernel for root. I found a video online to make RAM more managable and it had to do with earasing some data in the files and reboot. Now my phone is stuck on a boot loop and goes into the "Sprint spark" screen for like 5 min and restarts. Rocovery mode does not work but download mode does. I was thinking of trying to update with smart switch since there is a small update or maybe re flashing the kernel but i dont think that work and the stock roms for OFE arnt online yet.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy husband's Galaxy Edge 6 keeps going to the maintenance boot mode shown in the photo and factory resetting randomly. Verizon can’t seem to solve the issue.
•He's had the phone replaced by twice in the past month,
•10 hours of calls between Verizon and Samsung
•ditched his old Google account in case it was something with his backup
•Replaced his SIM card
•Went to both the Verizon store and to the Samsung center in Best Buy for them to run diagnostics, flash it, etc. They can find nothing wrong with it.
•He’s had numerous factory resets, master resets, etc.
Galaxy S6 SM-G920V firmware G920VVRU3BOG5 (5.1.1)
When I'm trying to power on the phone, I get the initial black and white "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen. Then everything goes black and the blue LED on the top left lights up and stays on, does not flash or dim, just stays on. The phone does not vibrate or make any sound when it does this.
What I've tried to fix it:
1) Power + Volume down (maintenance boot mode) ... I've tried normal boot, factory reset and booting in safe mode, all just give me a black screen with the blue LED.
2) Power + Volume Up + Home (andoid system recovery screen) ... When doing this, the phone displays the black and white "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen, followed by a bluish colored screen with a little android guy on it, followed by the dead android guy with a yellow exclamation triangle over his head, then goes into the android system recovery menu. On this screen I can wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and reboot and I still get a black screen with a steady blue LED.
3) Power + Volume Down + Home followed by Volume Up (Downloading screen) ... Takes me to the bluish screen warning me about downloading a custom OS. After hitting up it does not show the knox has ever been triggered. I've tried using ODIN 3.10.6 to reinstall fresh firmware (5.1.1 G920VVRU3BOG5) and after it successfully installs it, it boots to a black screen with the steady blue LED.
Did I miss the memo that says deleting lo-res photos will somehow not allow one to open the hi-res versions? I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that sometimes when an app is loading after selecting it from the app store, the icon is very high res when it has the loading bar. After the app loads and installs, the icon makes a noticable shift to a low res version. It is definitely not because the icon is grayed out, you can visibly see the switch from high res to low res.Anyone know how to fix this?No idea why an icon would show in high res then switch for no reason.
