I just noticed this. Everytime I reboot the phone, it resets the battery stats. It'll say something like "1 min 30s on battery" even though I last charged the phone hours ago. Is this a bug in Android 4.4? I never had this issue on my Nexus 4.
FYI, i'm unlocked and rooted, running ART as my run time environment.
Battery stats reset when restarting their phone? Note that this phenomenon occurs for me even when battery is below 90%. I'm stock unrooted, running MDA89D.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my Nexus 6 for 3+ months and have had no problems until today when my phone would randomly reboot. Sometime it would come back on quickly and other times it would go through the long process of optimizing apps. The phone has had 2 OTA software updates since I purchased it so I decided to do a factory data reset.
I have not experienced any random reboots since the factory data reset but now I am unable to connect to WiFi. When I click on the WiFi in the quick setting menu, the phone is unable to identify any available networks. When I click on More Settings, the screen says Turning WiFi on but nothing ever happens.
I disabled Google Search on my Nexus 5 and now it is stuck on the booting screen.
After looking around on here, I found that part of the launcher is contained in Google Search.
Is it because of my carrier, T-Mobile, that I do not have a reboot option anymore?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSince acquiring a G4 recently I've noticed something weird going on with the phone's battery stats report. For some reason the Phone App is always listed as the highest battery consumer, even in circumstances when the screen should definitely be at the top with upwards of 4 hours of SOT.
Here's a shot from today after being off a full charge for about 15 hours and 1.5 hours of SOT (a good chuck of this was overnight idle).
This is happening on every full recharge even after rebooting and full charging in an off state.
However, the GSam report looks much more normal and closer to what I would expect to see
im using minimalOs as a rom , no modification everything is stock but keep getting lags and the phone does not respond at all the only way to go is a long press on the power button to reboot. i've been experiencing the same issue with many lollipop roms even the factory one is there any solution or hint to shed some light.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter I plugged my Nexus 5 into the phone charger last night it kept turning off and then it kept trying to turn back on again but it would usually only make it to the Google startup logo. I unplugged it and still got the same results. Today I tried turning it on a few times.
Finally it began to work but it started up resetting itself as a new phone. Therefore I lost all of my apps, settings, photos, and text messages.
My brother woke up this evening to find his phone stuck on the android loading screen saying "erasing". He didn't do anything, it did this on its own. Once it had finished, his phone had factory reset itself and he lost everything that wasn't backed up.

When I went to look for an app, I noticed they were all gone. Somehow, my phone reset itself and I lost everything -- all installed apps, phone lists, everything.
Is there anyway to go back to a state that existed before this? FWIW, I live in Guangzhoung...and the only thing I did that was even remotely different was I reloaded the phone (china unicomm).
When trying to answer a call on my Nexus5 and it is locked . It will let me send text messages ( I am driving , etc) but will not let me answer the phone. Insufficient resources go to theme menu and reset. I cannot find a theme menu anywhere. Not in settings, nor elsewhere, any way other than factory reset?

While discharging, when the battery is about 40%, my Nexus 5 turns off immediately. Then, when I am trying to turn it on, I got a low battery warning and can't turn it on. When I connect it to the charger and turn it on, the battery indicator shows about 15-20%.Is my battery going to die? It looks normal, not swollen. I'm rooted with the stock ROM and Trinity Kernel (which I think may be the culprit, I'm not going to read 1,000 responses on a thread in a different forum to find out). To my problem: whenever the phone is off and plugged in my laptop's USB port or the travel/wall charger, the initial charging icon that shows the battery's level does not disappear. Even when I have unplugged the charger, the icon stays until I boot up the phone.

View 24 Replies View RelatedEver since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
I have only power which is the stock option but is there a way to add more? like reboot and recovery
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got some random reboots after upgrading on stock Lollipop 5.1 on my Nexus 5.I've used Android 5.0.1 without any reboots or problem, but after upgrading on 5.1 I'm facing many random reboots when I switch from an app (like a game or Hangouts) using Recents or Home button from NavBar (it also happens randomly when I'm using my phone, like writing a message on Hangouts).The reboots I'm talking about are not "soft" but "hard", because bootloader's logo (Google) appears and restarts my phone, so it is caused by Kernel Panic (as you'll see in my last_kmsg) and they occured on both stock and custom rom.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got a nexus 5 running lollipop (5.0.1) and the phone will randomly shutdown or reboot. I've tried a factory reset as well as clearing the cache after the reset. That did not solve the problem. I'm hoping its not a harware issue but given that I don't have a single app other than the default google apps installed.
