I've only had my Z3 a week, first expensive phone I've bought outright but I've noticed the battery draining quickly in standby, when I look in the battery stats it say's my phone is awake all the time, I've never had that on any of my other android smart phones, starting to regret this purchase now :-(
View 3 RepliesSince acquiring a G4 recently I've noticed something weird going on with the phone's battery stats report. For some reason the Phone App is always listed as the highest battery consumer, even in circumstances when the screen should definitely be at the top with upwards of 4 hours of SOT.
Here's a shot from today after being off a full charge for about 15 hours and 1.5 hours of SOT (a good chuck of this was overnight idle).
This is happening on every full recharge even after rebooting and full charging in an off state.
However, the GSam report looks much more normal and closer to what I would expect to see
Recently i noticed that the battery percentage is showing incorrectly. After first restart the battery percentage is much lower, and after second and next restarts it is randomly higher or lower than it should.After sending phone to the service to reintall software the problem didn't stop. What's the problem ?

80% lost in 14.5 hours with only half an hour of screen time. Funny thing is, the HTC battery stats don't seem to think the phone was awake much. My battery apps tell a different story - says it was kept awake for 8 hours, with the kernel to blame.
Not an app doing it. Things were fixed initially after the reflash, and then went back to their old ways yesterday.
I just noticed this. Everytime I reboot the phone, it resets the battery stats. It'll say something like "1 min 30s on battery" even though I last charged the phone hours ago. Is this a bug in Android 4.4? I never had this issue on my Nexus 4.
FYI, i'm unlocked and rooted, running ART as my run time environment.
I've read many posts about poor battery life since the last Lollipop update and am suffering the same issues! However, mine appears to be because the phone is constantly awake and WiFi is constantly on. I have 'extended standby' enabled which should kill the WiFi when the screen is off, should it not?

I've found that 38 hours worth of battery life Engadget posted in their review to sound like a bit much. However this is less than a week into our new toys, and I know we're all playing hard. So, just for the curious, and to make sure none of us got shorted, how bout a study? If you'd like, post your numbers, however to be more exact, lets go by the usage number under Settings>General>Usage.If you will, post both Usage and Standby stats since the last full charge when you get down to 20%. Try to be as exact as possible.
So on my iPhone 4 going from 100% to 20% I've got...
Usage 5 hours 4 minutes
Standby 16 hours 8 minutes
Total 21 hours 12 minutes

on the main page if you scroll to the right at the top youll see some simple crunching to compare how many charges less my turbo is getting compared to my old android phones (droid x and gnex) where I charged them every night. I charged them every night because I had too, likewise I only charge the turbo when it needs it. I am open to hearing others opinions on what % its best to charge at but as I know and you should too it is very much debated. There are many surces claiming what is best as for charging habits. i am testing based on charging my phone to 100% once it hits around 25-30% and ever 30 charges I run it down to 7-10% to 100.
Recently purchased the Electrify a few days ago. Overall much better than my Desire.I have is anyone know why we can not dig into what is causing "Awake" time? Previously on my Desire I could see what was causig this (was running CM 7.1)I've checked most apps I know like to do things in the background but haven't found any smoking guns.Secondly, does anyone in here use Hotmail and connect it so it does push email? Push is working fine but for whatever reason, email I read on my phone will not sync that I read it back to the server. Worked fine on my Desire. Not sure if its a Electrify or Hotmail issue.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSince I installed the 5.1 update, I've noticed in the stock battery stats that wifi displays as always on, with a solid green line across the screen, even when wifi is off AND disconnected from any wifi signal. I don't seem to have a drain on the battery as a result, but I don't have a clue why it would show up like this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIssue with google+ keeping phone awake for way too long? This morning I unplugged my phone around 730 then fell back asleep until 9. When I checked my phone it was at 88%. I looked at the usage and although google+ was at a low % it had kept my phone awake since I unplugged.
Just to clarify, by awake, I don't mean screen on. It kept the phone from going to sleep when I turned the screen off and went back to bed. I immediately disabled the app, as I don't use it anyway, and the battery is back to normal, I think. Also, I have all the auto-backup options turned off on google+ so why it was kept awake for so long.
I've got my nexus 6p two weeks ago. In the last week i've noticed that the phone is always awake, even with screen off. In the first days of use doze was working well and i didn't have problems. It doesn't seem to be regular.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy bluetooth is keeping the device awake all the time since the past one month. Even if I disconnect my G Watch, bluetooth drains the battery. Waited for Marshmallow and installed it yesterday after formatting the phone but it bluetooth is again at the top in power consumption in the battery stats and keeps my Nexus 5 awake all the time. It used to work really well until last month.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNoticed that Z3 always awake (and thus bad battery life), even from within Ultra Stamina mode with no running apps? This happened to me twice now with just over two weeks of using this phone. I haven't been able to take specific steps to replicate this yet, but 2 days in about 16 days means so far over 12% of the days.
Usually, the phone lasts over 24 hours with moderate use. I normally have stamina mode "on", and set to activate at 50% battery level, and then Low Battery mode to activate at 20%. Note also that all the apps I am using have been installed from the first day I've been using the phone. That is, I have not installed any new apps before I noticed this happening, and when I have "normal" battery life it is using the same set of apps.
Here is an outline of what happens:
I notice a much faster than usual power drain, despite being a typical day of usage (i.e. nothing out of the ordinary). I go to battery usage, and see the history details, and see that "Awake" has been on constantly, including during long screen off times, and all the while with Stamina mode enabled and active.
I then restart the phone. Problem still there, still constantly awake despite screen off and stamina.
Battery dips below 20% and Low Battery mode activates.
Phone keeps on being constantly "awake", despite no usage and now both low battery AND stamina modes on.
Restart the phone. Same problem.
I turn on Ultra Stamina mode. (I did this last time at 17%)
Phone continues to be always awake. Battery quickly drains down to 5% within less than an hour and almost no use, even though Ultra Stamina is supposed to stretch the life for an order of magnitude longer than that.
I shut off the phone to avoid complete discharge. When I return home, I plug it in and wait for a decent charge before turning the phone back on.
After full charge, I take the phone off the charger. Phone now works normally again, without always being "awake".
I can't figure out what causes this sequence of events to kick off in the first place. I'm trying to play around with things to get it to start doing this, but so far I haven't been successful in deliberately replicating the problem.
My android version is 5.0.2, v. 23.1.A.0.726.
Normally I charge my battery on my bold 9780 every other day. To my supprise the battery indicator stayed on 100% for 3-4 days until it suddenly closed down while using it, saying battery was low...(not exact message). I charged it to 50% but after a day it is reading 50% still.

I have a light that stays on constantly. Its like the video camera light is constantly on but not quite as bright as the video light. I have tried everything to turn it off. Its draining my battery & is annoying! When I turn on my video camera, the light brightens. I'm so sick of this stupid light! Short of putting blk electrical tape over it I don't know what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finished installing ICS 3 hours ago. The problem was that my battery died during the time it was updating media database. Now, the battery will not charge. It says at 5%. If I am using my phone at all (i.e. just making folders) it heats up and dies/turns off. I've tried 2 different batteries and 2 different chargers with the same results. Also- 3 hours later and I still have no contacts and many apps no longer work (google voice).
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.

Ok. So when I charge my phone the red stays on. When I press the power key and hold it in the light turms off and the turn on screen appears( blackeberry&logo and white loading bar)
Once the bar is fully loaded the screen turns white.The red light appears again and the turn on screen comes back without me doing anything..
After being an Android user for the past 7 years, this is my first windows Phone. I normally turn my phone off before going to bed, and connect it to the charger. The problem I have here is the Phone turns on automatically the moment I connect it to the Charger. my question is why don't it stay turned off.
