View 3 RepliesI tried to plug the battery start it up but it doesn't work. Is it possible get it working? I just want to keep it around plugged in and stream stuff to chromecast occasionally.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Android 6.0 few weeks ago. Since last week I have noticed some weird behaviour. While discharging, when the battery is about 40%, my Nexus 5 turns off immediately. Then, when I am trying to turn it on, I got a low battery warning and can't turn it on. When I connect it to the charger and turn it on, the battery indicator shows about 15-20%.Is my battery going to die? It looks normal, not swollen. I tried reinstalling Marshmallow (with wipe) but it didn't work. When reinstalling system, I noticed an other problem. Stock recovery doesn't work. After flashing it with
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I have only the laying android and red triangle picture. TWRP works when flashed the same way. But it disappears after reboot!
I am getting the 10% battery warning pop up and moments later the phone turns itself off and will not power back on until I plug the power in.
View 22 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 6 turns off around the 5% battery warning mark is this normal? This is the second faulty unit. First one was giving me audio drop outs and this is the second device to turn off before completely dead.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a proud and happy owner of a Nexus 5, but have an odd quirk. I'm rooted with the stock ROM and Trinity Kernel (which I think may be the culprit, I'm not going to read 1,000 responses on a thread in a different forum to find out). To my problem: whenever the phone is off and plugged in my laptop's USB port or the travel/wall charger, the initial charging icon that shows the battery's level does not disappear. Even when I have unplugged the charger, the icon stays until I boot up the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs that normal? I'd think that Google can just disable the camera when battery is low, instead of forcibly shutting down the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsed my camera for the first time ever yesterday for about 30 mins. When I picked up my phone this morning there is hardly any battery left 8%. I went into the battery settings and the camera app has been keeping my phone awake for over 15 hours! I went into the recent apps screen and closed the camera app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this. Everytime I reboot the phone, it resets the battery stats. It'll say something like "1 min 30s on battery" even though I last charged the phone hours ago. Is this a bug in Android 4.4? I never had this issue on my Nexus 4.
FYI, i'm unlocked and rooted, running ART as my run time environment.
I was wondering if such a case exists. I'm coming from the iPhone/iOS world and I am finally jumping ship. I'm leaning toward the Nexus 5, but I'm worried about the lack of storage and battery capacity. I have my 64GB iPhone full of music (in fact I wish it was bigger) and I'd hate to sacrifice the storage.
View 24 Replies View RelatedEver since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
I Accidently installed USA band/radio on my Nexus 5 (D821), how can I get the Europe/Radio base-band?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have no signal, I can't turn on radio in the hidden settings (*#*#4636#*#*) and I can't change preffered network to 2g nor 3g.
I have flashed different radios, flashed several factory images (4.4,5.1.1,5.0) but I have the same problem. One thing though, when I'm on 4.4 it says the radio is on in the hidden settings (still no signal) but I can t' turn it off. Is this a software or hardware problem?
I got Nexus 5 and it does not have an App to play Local FM radio, even a 1.5 K phone will be able to play FM radio without any internet and why Nexus 5 does not have this basic feature ?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI own Nexus 5 for enough long time to know how Kitkat worked. There is one thing that has drawn my attention - when I had Kitkat radio running on my phone, the mobile signal was great but after each upgrade to Lollipop and Marshmallow it's gotten noticeably worse. I was wondering, is it possible to install Kitkat radio when running Marshmallow ROM (Cataclysm)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to test marshmallow so I decided flash xtra smoth rom by daniel84cs.as I am coming from lollipop so I flashed bootloader and radio of marshmallow but then I stuck into bootloop somehow I managed to get my backup restored now I am back to lollipop as I have done a factory rest before restoring so I should need to flash lollipop bootloader and radio again or I am good to go?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with the combination of radio apps (e.g. TuneIn, CBC Radio, NPR), and a Bluetooth speaker (Blackweb SoundPebble). The apps work fine and will play through the Nexus 5 speakers or headphones when no Bluetooth speaker is connected. However, when I connect a Bluetooth speaker, the apps do not work - they don't get past the title screen. The Bluetooth speaker works OK with locally stored files e.g. music saved to the device.
View 12 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since the android 6 update I have noticed that Google play services is always top of my battery drain stats.
Also the mobile radio active figure is always going up and up!
I do have a android wear device synced but I always have and never noticed this is lollipop.
What could be causing this? I don't have Google now or location services on ...
Noticed that Google Play Services battery optimization is grayed out and I can't turn in on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNexus 5, 16GB, MRA58N (stock, not rooted). Sometimes the power percentages shown for each process in the battery monitor do not add up to the total battery drain? I am finding that sometimes they add up to within 1% of the total shown.... and sometimes they are WAY off with as much as 30% of the displayed battery drain unaccounted for. Since I don''t have access to the battery terminals, I can't determine independently whether the percentages shown are simply inaccurate, or whether there are missing processes (ie., processes not shown at all in the battery monitor).
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy battery does not hit zero for it to die. It will sometimes die at 35% sometimes at 65%!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been getting pretty good battery life, but was wondering if I should be using 3G or LTE on the N5. I know the N5 has envelope tracking, but does that really work? I have looked around and there isn't much info about this. There is quite a bit of info for other phones, but almost nothing for the N5.
I usually get an LTE signal of one to two bars; around 98 to 110 dBm and 30 to 40 asu. 3G varies from two to four full bars; 85 to 100 dBm and around 10 asu. This is at my home on AT&T. I'm almost always connected to WiFi, though.Battery life has been pretty good. Usually around three to four hours of screen on time from 100% to 30%, with some standby time.
I have not had occasion to seek directions for travel using my Nexus 5 before. Today I needed directions and used Google Maps for no more than 5 minutes. The device became very hot. After I shut down the directions I looked at the battery information on the app battery notifier BT free. It said discharging, temp/health 118F/overheat. I was taken by surprise. Should I have expected that much heat from using Google Maps directions for such a short time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a second hand nexus 5 to find out that the battery indicator is always showing 42% and never updates, regardless of the actual battery charge level. I tried replacing the battery with the one from my brother`s nexus 5, then replaced the usb port board. Also tried:
- rooting
- installing twrp 2.8.7.1
- elemenalX 6.0 kernel
- Android 6.0.1
- Cache and dalvik wipe
- Use the battery until phone shuts down
Although the indicator jumped to 83% and to 54% after some actions which I dont remember. Maybe after cache wipe, not sure.
when charger is connected my phone keeps rebooting on Google logo, when I disconnect a charger it has no signs of being alive. now somehow i managed to get into fastboot, but when i try to get into recovery phone reboots again and shows full charged battery. What should I do now? I tried to flash stock and unroot via nexus root toolkit, i get the same.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having a very frustrated issue with my Nexus 5 d820. The battery indicator suddenly stuck -for days- on random numbers like 93%, 88% but most of the time it's stuck on 100%. It does recognizes that I'm charging, but the values aren't changing.
Things I've tried:
Installing a third party battery monitors like Gsam A complete drain, complete charge.
Replacing the Battery to a new one
Wipe to Factory / Wipe Cache
Install a brand new rom using fastboot
Install TWRP, Root
WiFi in my nexus 5 is taking nearly 40% of battery though the WiFi is turned off This issue started after updating to android 6.0 . Is there any fault with my mobile.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the last week my 32Gb Nexus 5 has started to drain the battery quickly about 6-8 hours after I pull it off the charger. I'll suddenly notice that it is feeling warm, check, and find the temperature about 15F higher than normal. Checking the battery stats indicates that it is stuck awake just sitting in my pocket not being used. GSAM indicates that the CPU time seems to be being eaten by Android System and maybe Kernel. Restarting the device clears the problem, at least until the next day.
This was happening with 5.0.2 and continues since I updated OTA to 5.1. I am not rooted. I upgraded to 5.0.2 for 4.4.4 via OTA.
I'm not sure if the answer is to do a factory reset and reload or not. If I do that should I allow it to restore apps and settings or should I manually restore my apps and data? I am concerned I may restore the problem again.
