Google Nexus 5 :: Unknown Baseband And IMEI
Jan 27, 2016So, unknown IMEI and Baseband. I ran e2fsck on the persist partition, but it errored out. Formatting worked. I edited and copied the .bdaddr and .macaddr files and those addresses are sticking after a reboot (I know I'm leaving a lot of details out, just trying to prove I did some research and did the basic steps first). So, the /persist partition WAS bad, but is fixed now.
Still getting an unknown IMEI and Baseband (note, Baseband shows correctly in the bootloader screen). Flashed multiple times. Even flashed using the LG Flash Tool (twice, once before fixing the persist partition, and once after).
Now, I think this last bit is the problem. I tried backing up the efs partitions, /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modemst1 and /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modemst2. I was able to backup modemst1 no problem (nice 3MB img file). When trying to backup modemst2, it just says "I/O error".

Jul 12, 2015I have no signal, I can't turn on radio in the hidden settings (*#*#4636#*#*) and I can't change preffered network to 2g nor 3g.
I have flashed different radios, flashed several factory images (4.4,5.1.1,5.0) but I have the same problem. One thing though, when I'm on 4.4 it says the radio is on in the hidden settings (still no signal) but I can t' turn it off. Is this a software or hardware problem?

Mar 7, 2015I am having problems with the combination of radio apps (e.g. TuneIn, CBC Radio, NPR), and a Bluetooth speaker (Blackweb SoundPebble). The apps work fine and will play through the Nexus 5 speakers or headphones when no Bluetooth speaker is connected. However, when I connect a Bluetooth speaker, the apps do not work - they don't get past the title screen. The Bluetooth speaker works OK with locally stored files e.g. music saved to the device.

Apr 13, 2010Ill say this before I start. What im doing is "fishy".I was an Alltel for about 4 years when big red killed them. I however still have an Alltel plan. I was told that if my phone dies or if I need to change my ESN on my account for any reason that they would change my account billing (I'm no longer under contract) to reflect Verizon pricing.This was not an issue with my two Treos (some of you my know of my VZW to ROW thread) as it was easy to "juggle" numbers (aka I had a backup phone that only had to be turnd on ).
If anyone is able to point me in the right direction on a CDMA Nexus One (If ever released ) or PM me with radio information on how to backup the radio and restore it I would be forever grateful!

Apr 3, 2014For months I was happily using my Nexus 5 with a SoundID 300 earpiece. Pushing the call button went into a dialer dialog with voice prompts and responses. Suddenly a few weeks ago it started going to the Google Now (aka Google Search?) function (the one you get when you say "OK Google"). Although it will generally recognize the same voice commands as the dialer dialog, there are no voice prompts or responses, so if Google Now has crashed or decides to prompt on screen for "OK or Cancel", I have to get the phone out and look at it to see why it didn't dial.

Feb 27, 2015Yesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.

Aug 22, 2015I'm sure many of you have heard that when you enter an incorrect pattern/PIN/password, eventually the phone asks for Google account credentials to unlock it. My Nexus 5 on 5.1.0 does not do this. Does yours? If my lock screen is set to PIN, I can enter as many incorrect attempts as I want, it never asks and never stops me. If I have a pattern set it will let me enter 10 incorrect attempts after which it simply stops me from trying for 30s, but it never asks for Google account credentials.

I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.

Jul 20, 2014So this morning I woke up to my phone on a boot loop on the Google Logo. I have no custom roms or mods on it other than I am running ART. I suspect it could be battery related as it will only seem to do this on the charger but when I don't have it plugged in it won't even start up. When it's plugged in it won't even seem to want to stay "off", it boots up to the google logo on its own. If I hold down the volume rocker I can get into the bootloader but it resets before I can select anything and boots right back into the google logo.

So I flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, I am stuck at the google logo.

Google Nexus 5 :: Stuck At Google Logo After Deleting Some Apps
Nov 4, 2015today I installed the new android 6.0 factory image, rooted it (used the modified boot.img from the previous build) and installed supersu 2.52 and blu spark kernel. Everything good until i deleted some apps (gmail, webview, youtube and other NON CRITICAL apps, like I ALWAY DO SINCE KITKAT), then rebooted and my phone is stuck at the Google logo, not even the bootanimation shows up.. Tried to reflash the boot.img, wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset but nothing.. The only thing that worked is to reflash the factory image! What am I doing wrong? Happened 2 times in a row so something must be wrong.. Another thing, I can't access TWRP every time, sometimes it skips and boots directly..

Apr 13, 2014I have had my Nexus 5 for several months and only ever used 1 of my 2 Google accounts on it. About a month ago I decided with a bit more with my second account I would try putting my second Google account in the settings. So I added it in settings > accounts > add account > Google then fill out the rest. I only originally checked to sync Gmail, Keep, and URL shortener for that second account. As those were the only things I really needed for that account since I had my main account already. Switching Google accounts in the Gmail app, Google Keep app, and URL shortener app are very easy and have worked great!
The problem occurred when I decided to add a Google+ profile photo to that second account and decided to sync Google+ on my Nexus 5 for that account too. Since doing that, now in the notification toggle shade for Google+ profile toggle it shows that profile picture with the short cut to go to that Google+ account. Which I do NOT want as that is a highly private account! I want it to stay as the original account I have always had that I have set to sync almost everything with.
how I can change what Google+ profile shows in the notification toggle pull down shade? I also noticed when going to Google contacts app under Me section at the top it shows the Google+ profile I don't want. I have tried unchecking and then rechecking the Google+ sync option for the account I wanted to show but that did not resolve it.
In the Google accounts section on my phone settings I noticed my main account is at the top, but when going in the Google+ app and on the left side menu it shows the account I don't want to show in the notification toggle and contacts app, as the account listed at the top. I am thinking that account being on top on the Google+ app is what's causing the issue.

Is there a way to hide them? I thought I should post here if the Nexus 5 users know how to do it.

At least three times now since installed Lollipop three or so weeks ago the app has logged me into my google account. I then have to go into the Settings area of the app and Sign Out.

Today I got a "broken" nexus 5 that is in boot loop with the google logo and it wont boot into any .img
At the start i read the pinned posts and found this tutorial: [URL] ...
followed it step by step. but unfortunately it didnt work in my situation. there werent any errors or such kind. I also tried this tutorial with other images but nothing worked.
When i go to the recovery mode and press the power button the phone get into the google logo and i can see some sort of strange stripes in like a milisecond but then it just gets into the boot loop.
i really think ive tried everything accept for relocking the bootloader but cant imaging that this could be the problem.

Jun 8, 2015I reset my phone because after 5.1.1 update my phone battery was poor so i reset my phone copied songs from my PC to nexus 5 when i open Google play music it is unable to detect those transferred songs. when i went to ES Explorer i can able to see all the songs i copied. what should i do? one more reset? is there any way to say google play music about songs presence?
P.S i already deleted cache, cleared data of that app no use
