I don't know what happened but Google maps and Google now think I am on the other side of the country. I am in Ohio and it is showing my location as in a neighborhood in Salt Lake city, Utah. I have turned location, WiFi and GPS on and off. Also I have turned the phone on and off. I am on T-Mobile and my other phones location is correct.

I was using Google maps today and its showing my location 5 km from my home when I'm sitting at home! I've tried hi accuracy mode in the settings, wiped the cache, ininstalled maps. All without success. Even Google earth is reporting the wrong location. what I can do to resolve it? Factory reset? How good a job does the restore feature on the pc version of smart switch do at restoring the phone?

I have had my Nexus 5 for several months and only ever used 1 of my 2 Google accounts on it. About a month ago I decided with a bit more with my second account I would try putting my second Google account in the settings. So I added it in settings > accounts > add account > Google then fill out the rest. I only originally checked to sync Gmail, Keep, and URL shortener for that second account. As those were the only things I really needed for that account since I had my main account already. Switching Google accounts in the Gmail app, Google Keep app, and URL shortener app are very easy and have worked great!
The problem occurred when I decided to add a Google+ profile photo to that second account and decided to sync Google+ on my Nexus 5 for that account too. Since doing that, now in the notification toggle shade for Google+ profile toggle it shows that profile picture with the short cut to go to that Google+ account. Which I do NOT want as that is a highly private account! I want it to stay as the original account I have always had that I have set to sync almost everything with.
how I can change what Google+ profile shows in the notification toggle pull down shade? I also noticed when going to Google contacts app under Me section at the top it shows the Google+ profile I don't want. I have tried unchecking and then rechecking the Google+ sync option for the account I wanted to show but that did not resolve it.
In the Google accounts section on my phone settings I noticed my main account is at the top, but when going in the Google+ app and on the left side menu it shows the account I don't want to show in the notification toggle and contacts app, as the account listed at the top. I am thinking that account being on top on the Google+ app is what's causing the issue.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the past couple of months, it's been fine, showing commute times and the weather where I'm at and stories related to searches, etc. But in the past couple of days, it has fallen apart, now saying 99% of the time that it has no cards for me at this time. Even after repeated weather requests, it won't pop a card for it unless I manually set one for home.
I've tried toggling it off and on; switching accounts; erasing stored data (which only wiped out all my home screens); nothing works but turning it off and on and opting in which beings up one set of news story cards which when swiped away never return. No stocks, no weather, no commute times, nada, nyet, nothing.
After uninstalling updates to Google Search - WARNING: This will reset all your homescreens to default, wiping out your folders, etc. - it seems to restore normal Now function. Just make sure to update Search to current before rebuilding your home screens otherwise you'll have to swipe from the beginning of your app list every time.

My Nexus 5 has marshmallow and since then whenever I go to download an apk from the Internet I get a message across the bottom saying cannot download to the specified location. Security is set to allow third party downloads etc.

Since then I've flashed 2.49 (beta) one that I read somewhere that should clean the files from previous installations, but it's not booting at all. Basically I want to keep the files on SD and applications. So, what should I choose? Deleting SuperSu files from Recovery? Flashing only System back? Any other method available for my scenario.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's happening is the date format on various apps on my phone are showing an incorrect format. The format it is showing is DD/MM/YYYY instead of MM/DD/YYYY. I've looked everywhere, I've posted on the google nexus 6 forums, and even talked to google tech support. I've also just done a factory reset and that didn't fix the issue. In the date time settings on the phone, there is no option to change that format. This is really bizarre.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo as the subject says, somehow my internal storage moved to a different location in my phone. It moved from storage/emulated/0 to data/media/0 somehow. I don't know how but now my apps and file managers are unable to access my internal storage and I am unable to download anything from my browser. My nexus 5 is rooted with Android 6.0 and has experimentalx kernel with xposed. Other than that, my nexus 5 is stock. I tried using root browser and solid browser to move my internal storage back to the correct place but that just gives me an error. I also tried using Android commander to move my storage using my pc but it's giving me permission denied. So I don't know what to do.

Today I turn my GPS constantly back on but on battery saving mode. Have it when I use Google Maps and 17 high accuracy. Any way to add a shortcut to the home screen to quickly toggle this GPS location based settings so I don't have to go into the main menu settings and talk to it that way?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use to keep the WiFi Scanning for location services on before Lollipop. Since Lollipop, if it is on, WiFi is ALWAYS scanning killing my battery within the hour. So I turned it off hoping that the Marshmallow update(s) would fix this. I'm on 6.0.1 and the issue is still here. It's kind of annoying turning on WiFi just for my GPS to lock on accurately. If so what fixed your phone.? I've done cache clearing, in the phone menu itself and through recovery to no avail.

For a while, even Google Now thought I was a tourist when I came back to my home country but after reformatting I can no longer use Google Now since, it's not available in here. Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.

1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.

last day I got my OTA update for my nexus 5. Now its running on android 6, but now im facing a new issue. when my battery drain to around 60% it jumps directly below 20%. when i restart my phone it will show the right percentage. Is this hardware or software issue??

The device became very hot. After I shut down the directions I looked at the battery information on the app battery notifier BT free. It said discharging, temp/health 118F/overheat. I was taken by surprise. Should I have expected that much heat from using Google Maps directions for such a short time?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is a problem with the Calendar app, Hangouts, my Nexus 5, AT&T, or Google Calendar on the web. I'm using my Nexus 5 and the built-in Calendar app to sync my phone calendar to the online (web) Google calendar (www.google.com/calendar). For almost all of my events, I've got a Reminder set on the web version to send an SMS to my phone via my standard AT&T, Hangouts-verified phone number. Up until a few days ago, I've gotten these SMS reminders without issue. Suddenly, I'm not getting all of them (I get some, but not all). There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes they'll arrive, sometimes they won't. Looking at the events in the Calendar show the Reminders are still set up. Rebooting the phone doesn't seem to work?
Also, as I was checking the settings on the phone to see if any of those could be causing the problem, I noticed a setting in the Calendar app for "Pop-up notifications" (Calendar app | 3-dot menu | Settings | "General settings" | Notifications | "Pop-up notification"). I turned it on, but it doesn't seem to do anything (I get no pop-up notifications when one of my Calendar events fire).
I recently bought Nokia 5800XM and I have small problem. When I try to use Ovi maps and select My location it points me out to some place in London. First of all I thought its a problem with the GPS so I installed Google maps to check. The result was - Google maps application properly found my exact location(Sofia, Bulgaria, even the street was correct).Then I tried to remove all the maps and voice guidance files from my phone and installed ONLY the Bulgaria map and Bulgarian voice guidance file. However when I selected "My location" the GB(London) map was downloaded and the again I was pointed to some random location in London...
My phone software is updated to 50.0.005 and my Ovi Maps version is 3.04(updated today). Only Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled in App>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods. I use the WAP services(HSDPA) provided by my operator(Mtel BG) to connect to internet.Is this some kind of hardware problem(in other words should I return my phone to the vendor) ? Or Ovi Maps are still in beta(or alpha) stage and can't be used for proper navigation ?
