Google Nexus 6 :: Customize Ambient Display Notifications?
Mar 24, 2015I just picked this up last week on a whim, the day Verizon released it, so I am new to the phone.
My question is... Can I customize the notifications that show up in the ambient display?
In other words... I want all notifications at the top of the home screen, just like always... but I only want text messages to show up on the ambient display. Not every piece of junk mail I receive, or ebay notices, etc.
I am about to just turn it off, but am hoping I can get it to only show SMS (texts).

Jan 21, 2015just wondering i have a nexus 6 and i have ambient display enabled in settings,but when I pick up my phone the ambient display never comes on the only time it does come on is when I don't want it to come on if I get a notification it will come on but later when I pick it up the phone it won't and if I try to force it like if I keep picking up my phone to try to make it come on it doesn't come on either.Do I have a defective phone just got it yesterday so I can return it.

Is there any way to set it so that my screen doesn't light up when Priority Mode is set? My room is pretty dark and I keep seeing my screen light up at night when I'm trying to go to sleep.

Huawei Nexus 6P :: Ambient Display Not Working / Phone Screen Stays Blank In Phone Call
Oct 30, 2015So just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.
Google Nexus 5 :: Google+ Toggle Shows Wrong Profile?
Apr 13, 2014I have had my Nexus 5 for several months and only ever used 1 of my 2 Google accounts on it. About a month ago I decided with a bit more with my second account I would try putting my second Google account in the settings. So I added it in settings > accounts > add account > Google then fill out the rest. I only originally checked to sync Gmail, Keep, and URL shortener for that second account. As those were the only things I really needed for that account since I had my main account already. Switching Google accounts in the Gmail app, Google Keep app, and URL shortener app are very easy and have worked great!
The problem occurred when I decided to add a Google+ profile photo to that second account and decided to sync Google+ on my Nexus 5 for that account too. Since doing that, now in the notification toggle shade for Google+ profile toggle it shows that profile picture with the short cut to go to that Google+ account. Which I do NOT want as that is a highly private account! I want it to stay as the original account I have always had that I have set to sync almost everything with.
how I can change what Google+ profile shows in the notification toggle pull down shade? I also noticed when going to Google contacts app under Me section at the top it shows the Google+ profile I don't want. I have tried unchecking and then rechecking the Google+ sync option for the account I wanted to show but that did not resolve it.
In the Google accounts section on my phone settings I noticed my main account is at the top, but when going in the Google+ app and on the left side menu it shows the account I don't want to show in the notification toggle and contacts app, as the account listed at the top. I am thinking that account being on top on the Google+ app is what's causing the issue.
Google Nexus 5 :: Maps And Google Now Showing Wrong Location?
Aug 16, 2014I don't know what happened but Google maps and Google now think I am on the other side of the country. I am in Ohio and it is showing my location as in a neighborhood in Salt Lake city, Utah. I have turned location, WiFi and GPS on and off. Also I have turned the phone on and off. I am on T-Mobile and my other phones location is correct.

Jul 21, 2015So I flashed M p1 and then updated to p2 without need of root.Now I just needed that for a particular reason and I used NRT root option, but it was too late when I realized that it was flashing the stable version of SuperSU and would not work. Since then I've flashed 2.49 (beta) one that I read somewhere that should clean the files from previous installations, but it's not booting at all. Basically I want to keep the files on SD and applications. So, what should I choose? Deleting SuperSu files from Recovery? Flashing only System back? Any other method available for my scenario.

Aug 29, 2015What's happening is the date format on various apps on my phone are showing an incorrect format. The format it is showing is DD/MM/YYYY instead of MM/DD/YYYY. I've looked everywhere, I've posted on the google nexus 6 forums, and even talked to google tech support. I've also just done a factory reset and that didn't fix the issue. In the date time settings on the phone, there is no option to change that format. This is really bizarre.

Google Nexus 5 :: Wrong Phone Number In (status) Sub Menu
Jun 9, 2014Got my nice new nexus 5 and its 3 weeks old and I must say its soooo damn good to not have all the stuff put on to other android phones. This phone is simple and uncluttered, love it.
Just one little niggle. When in settings then into "about phone" and then into "status", it shows your phone number. Can some one tell me why its not my phone number. Did not think much of it until I started filling out info on my google stuff and it auto entered some info incuding the phone number, which was of course, wrong.
Simple questions really.
1. where has this number come from.
2. why is it not my number.
3. how do i change it.

Oct 19, 2015last day I got my OTA update for my nexus 5. Now its running on android 6, but now im facing a new issue. when my battery drain to around 60% it jumps directly below 20%. when i restart my phone it will show the right percentage. Is this hardware or software issue??

The problem is : Google Logo stays displayed. Bootanimation doesnt displays and so, it seems it prevents phone from displaying Setup Wizard, and Android UI. Maybe the problem is "libsecureui.so" dlopen failed.

May 27, 2014Yesterday, I dropped my nexus 5 and now my screen won't display anything any more. But the backlight works and so does phone (i know the phone still works because my alarms still are going of) What do you (people on the forum) think is wrong with my phone. Jul 15, 2015Verizon 32 GB Nexus 6, stock no root. 5.1.1. It won't autorotate. Display setting is set to autorotate and Accessibility setting is set to autorotate but it won't. Multiple on/off reboots with settings off and on. Cleared system cache. I downloaded Check My Android and it shows all sensors active and working normally. I downloaded Set Orientation and it won't change automatically. I can force it to landscape mode using the app but have to do it manually. The camera takes a picture in portrait and displays it either upside down or in landscape.

Dec 17, 2015Recently my Nexus 5 stopped working. I get no display, But I can assume the phone is on because when I connect it, the holder on my computer opens up.
I assume there is something wrong with the connection. sometimes i can play with the daughterboard and the backlight lights up. but there is still no display.
The problem is that the phone is in PTP instead of MPT.
I don't care about the phone much as the pictures on it, because they are the last picture I have of a family member that recently passed away in an accident.
Even though the phone is rooted. when I load up Nexus toolkit, the phone is listed as unauthorized and I don't know how to pull any files off of it.
