Is there a way to make active/ambient display on S6 just like in the Moto X series which display a single clock and notifications every time a notification comes or you wave your hands close to it or take it out of the pocket.As S6 habe that screen from the Clear View case, probably it should be easy to show the same screen in the active/ambient display ocasions.
View 3 RepliesSo just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.
Question 1)Can I use both? Will ambient display show messages... Then when screen closes, the led kicks in?Or would screen light up and led at same time
Question 2)I use AC display... Which is sort of ambient display(never owned a moto or nexus 6). Is ambient display basically the same thing? Meaning I won't need that.
I just picked this up last week on a whim, the day Verizon released it, so I am new to the phone.
My question is... Can I customize the notifications that show up in the ambient display?
In other words... I want all notifications at the top of the home screen, just like always... but I only want text messages to show up on the ambient display. Not every piece of junk mail I receive, or ebay notices, etc.
I am about to just turn it off, but am hoping I can get it to only show SMS (texts).
Noticed that the clock will sometimes be slow by as much as a few minutes - only in ambient display.
View 1 Replies View Relatedjust wondering i have a nexus 6 and i have ambient display enabled in settings,but when I pick up my phone the ambient display never comes on the only time it does come on is when I don't want it to come on if I get a notification it will come on but later when I pick it up the phone it won't and if I try to force it like if I keep picking up my phone to try to make it come on it doesn't come on either.Do I have a defective phone just got it yesterday so I can return it.

Is there any way to set it so that my screen doesn't light up when Priority Mode is set? My room is pretty dark and I keep seeing my screen light up at night when I'm trying to go to sleep.

View 4 Replies View Relatedyesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use the default Calendar app on my S5 with several Gmail accounts, all which have default reminder settings. None of those accounts will use my default for calendar reminders, even after Syncing and rebooting. I've gone into my phone settings and searched for Notification, Reminder and Calendar and none of those settings have default reminders. I can only select to enable to disable these options.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've purchased one game, and downloaded another (they may have been the same vendor) which touted 'HD', and the graphics were great; however, for some reason, the 'active' display of the game was shifted down from the top and to the left. In order to activate anything on the menu, I had to touch the screen where I would have 'expected' it to appear. I don't know if this is specific to the XOOM or tablets in general, but I usually don't have issues with other HD games.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy S6 display keeps turning on and off. And I mean it lights up, then goes black....lights up...then goes black....all day, all night. My battery is draining at least 4-5 times a day. I've tried rebooting. I've tried starting in Safe Mode. Nothing works. And this problem started out of the blue. While the phone is being used....making a phone call, texting or using an app the screen doesn't do this. But if its just sitting there its turning on and off and draining my battery.

I've recently bought the Galaxy S5 off Giffgaff , and all is going well except for the S-Planner app.
I'm familiar with this very useful app after having the Galaxy S4, for about a year.
My "only" gripe is that I can't find out how to set it to display in "Analogue" format, so that I can read it easily.
On the S4 it was it was just a case of tapping the Left soft key next to the Home button, and selecting "settings" then "view styles" then "week view" and choosing "Analogue" But when I try the same thing on the S5... the app just turns even smaller.... I really don't want to send it back for this.
A new problem has developed with my phone. It's hard to describe but it looks as if there is fluid under the screen (I don't have a screen protector btw). You can push the bubble of fluid (if that's what it is) around with your finger and see it move under the screen. Most unsettling. I'm at a complete loss to know what to do. MY PHONE AT NO TIME HAS GOT WET OR EVEN SPLASHED - I'VE KEPT IT COMPLETELY DRY. I HAVEN'T EVEN HANDLED IT WITH WET HANDS.
The problem is only visible on the home screen and it's not affecting the functionality of the phone in any way. However, it's a bad problem because now I've lost all security on my phone - it doesn't ask for a fingerprint swipe any more so anyone can immediately gain access to my phone merely by touching the bubble.
Interestingly, the problem disappears completely if I run the Samsung Galaxy S6 4G in Safe Mode.
My phone was working fine one minute, but the next thing I know it turns off, the led starts blinking blue and the screen refuses to turn on. If I hold the volume button and the power button, the phone vibrates and the led stops blinking indicating that the phone powered off. I can then power it back on and it vibrates and the led starts blinking again indicating it is powered on, but the screen remains completely black and does not show any boot up animations or respond to any touches. As you can probably guess, with an unresponsive display I can't boot into recovery mode or anything.

I have tried everything, yes, even a factory reset, and no luck. I took some pictures to describe the situation of my phone. And if you think it's just a bad camera quality, trust me, it isn't.

It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.

Most devices with the sensor can disable it. Android of course, but even Apple device can! This is blasphemy! Apple having greater customisability than Nokia?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having this Xperia Mini Pro in my family since May 2012. When I purchased, it came with GB, and very soon there after, the update/upgrade to ICS was released. The upgrade was duly installed through the PC Companion.
I had initially noticed that there is no "Automatic" option under Menu → Settings → Display → Brightness. But then, the handset was in use mainly by my wife and I didn't think much about it since she always keeps the brightness at maximum or near there. Recently we swapped handsets and since I'm a heavy user, I looked for the setting to reduce battery usage, but couldn't find it!
I thought there must be some miss/bug in the software. I downloaded "Andro Sensor" from the market and there is no "Ambient Light Sensor" shown by that app! In fact, it says Light sensor not supported - see screen shot below:
Where as in the "White Paper on SK17" found on Sony's website [URL], at page 5, it says "Yes" against "Ambient Light Sensor".
My question is whether the sensor is there in the production version or not? It is there, then it appears the sensor in my handset is not working and needs repair/replacement under warranty?
After the recent update to 4.1.B.0.587, I observe that my display brightness fluctuates randomly, and this happens very often.
My E7 ambient light sensor glows faint red when I try to connect a fring voice call (and the phone stops responding) or when certain apps (pocket lock) for instance is running. is there any issue with my phone? will the "Glow" burn my proximity sensor? is this an indication of any problem with the application. I only istall applications downloaded from OVI store.
