Google Nexus 6 :: Phone Shuts Off When Using Camera With Battery At 15%
Aug 13, 2015Is that normal? I'd think that Google can just disable the camera when battery is low, instead of forcibly shutting down the phone.

View 2 RepliesUsed my camera for the first time ever yesterday for about 30 mins. When I picked up my phone this morning there is hardly any battery left 8%. I went into the battery settings and the camera app has been keeping my phone awake for over 15 hours! I went into the recent apps screen and closed the camera app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt usually happens when I'm playing a very graphic intense game. Annoying enough... But last night I noticed it getting hot and I was just surfing the web!? The screen is approaching too hot to touch temperature! I drilled a big long slit in my case to let it breathe better. And I have a tempered glass screen protector.
View 10 Replies View RelatedLike I'll be using it and then it will just shut off and then when I boot it back up, it says the battery is very low or it shuts off during bootup! It would shut off at like 80% or other random percents! It has been doing this for a month, but it's gotten much worse! I can't even have it unplugged for 10 or 15 minutes without it doing this! Also the 5.1 update didn't even work.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIt will randomly crash, normally when I'm switching in between apps or opening apps. It shuts down without any notification, screen just goes blank. About 50% of the time I have to boot it up connected to the USB power cord or it will just crash again in the same fashion once the OS is loaded. Battery charge is at the same percent pre and post crash. I've downgraded to Kitkat as well as upgraded to the newest Lollipop 5.1, factory resets, and clearing cache. Currently on 5.1 and rooted. Same problem. I bought a battery from a questionable eBay seller and after installing am having the same problem, maybe more frequent. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue somewhere, perhaps I got a bad battery. My warranty is expired so I can't RMA it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got the update, now, when I play any game, the phone doesn't reboot, it plain shuts down..
View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving issue since last night. Battery was 60% approximately. I followed the holding power and volume button and it goes to "restart bootloader" then suddenly nexus shuts off within 5 sec itself. Some times it goes to "Power Off" option but my nexus 5 suddenly shuts down within 5 sec itself. I tried several different chargers including the "official" one that came with the phone, but won't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter the 5.1.1 OTA update my phone randomly shuts off (like pulling the plug off an appliance). I already did the factory reset and it still has this problem.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo, originally the problem was the phone's screen was going black straight after the Google logo, I had a hunch that it was a fault with just the screen as it was pretty badly smashed and seemed the phone was running in the background and you could get the backlight to come on. Then all of a sudden it would stop doing it and then start again intermittently.
I flashed to 6.0 to see if might be some random ROM error, but still exact same problems. Screen came back and then went again. So I grabbed a new screen and swapped out the part. Now at least I don't have a smashed screen and faulty digitizer.
Now the problem appears to be slightly worse. The phone gets to the Google logo again now but now it completely shuts down after it, but it still gets to fastboot! (Is fastboot stored on another chip than FW? If so that worries me.)
I tried to plug the battery start it up but it doesn't work. Is it possible get it working? I just want to keep it around plugged in and stream stuff to chromecast occasionally.
View 1 Replies View Relatedlast year I dropped it and the front glass covering the LCD broke. As it didn't affected the digitizer (and I was running a bit low on money) I decided to don't replace it right away. The time passed and it keept working until (something like 10 or 11 months later) it started to shut down by itself, either it had 90% of battery or 15%. As the boot took a bit to complete it shuts down before it gets to the running OS. The only way to avoid this powering offs was to having it pluged in to the charger. At first I thought it was a bug or something like that, so I unrooted it and got the stock vanilla android. 5.1 I think it was by that time. It didn't solve the problem. When the Marshmallow update was available I installed it hoping it could fix the problem but it also didn't work. With two versions of the stock android not solving the problem I concluded it wasn't a software problem and began to think it could be something to do with the broken glass. Maybe it wasn't just the glass that got broken. I bought a replacement for the display and replaced it. But, well, it also didn't solve the problem.
Now I have a neat condition Nexus 5 that keeps shutting down everytime the screen is on for more than one or two minutes.
I have installed Android 6.0 few weeks ago. Since last week I have noticed some weird behaviour. While discharging, when the battery is about 40%, my Nexus 5 turns off immediately. Then, when I am trying to turn it on, I got a low battery warning and can't turn it on. When I connect it to the charger and turn it on, the battery indicator shows about 15-20%.Is my battery going to die? It looks normal, not swollen. I tried reinstalling Marshmallow (with wipe) but it didn't work. When reinstalling system, I noticed an other problem. Stock recovery doesn't work. After flashing it with
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I have only the laying android and red triangle picture. TWRP works when flashed the same way. But it disappears after reboot!
I rarely use the phone, so this confuses me. A reboot will sort it out for awhile...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am getting the 10% battery warning pop up and moments later the phone turns itself off and will not power back on until I plug the power in.
View 22 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 5 running on marshmallow automatically shuts off its screen and no matter how much i press my power button screen doesn't turn on but all functions r working ( i mean i can attend calls by sliding blindly) at last i have to reboot my device by approximation....
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo just got nexus 5 for my wife and wanted to know how do you turn off the camera sound?
I've read everything from turning ringer volume down to rooting the device.
I can't believe there isn't a way without doing the above.
My nexus 6 turns off around the 5% battery warning mark is this normal? This is the second faulty unit. First one was giving me audio drop outs and this is the second device to turn off before completely dead.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a proud and happy owner of a Nexus 5, but have an odd quirk. I'm rooted with the stock ROM and Trinity Kernel (which I think may be the culprit, I'm not going to read 1,000 responses on a thread in a different forum to find out). To my problem: whenever the phone is off and plugged in my laptop's USB port or the travel/wall charger, the initial charging icon that shows the battery's level does not disappear. Even when I have unplugged the charger, the icon stays until I boot up the phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo as my title says. I'm looking for an app to have the flash go on when I get a phone call. I used 3 different apps in the past and they all worked on my other phones but not working on my nexus 6.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this. Everytime I reboot the phone, it resets the battery stats. It'll say something like "1 min 30s on battery" even though I last charged the phone hours ago. Is this a bug in Android 4.4? I never had this issue on my Nexus 4.
FYI, i'm unlocked and rooted, running ART as my run time environment.
I was wondering if such a case exists. I'm coming from the iPhone/iOS world and I am finally jumping ship. I'm leaning toward the Nexus 5, but I'm worried about the lack of storage and battery capacity. I have my 64GB iPhone full of music (in fact I wish it was bigger) and I'd hate to sacrifice the storage.
View 24 Replies View RelatedEver since 5.1.1 rolled out it seems like the battery was draining faster than normal but it was at least usable. Now, my phone will just randomly shut off while i'm in the middle of doing something(so far it has only shut off while i'm using the phone and not while it's idle). When it does shut off it could have between 80% and 100% battery even and then when i turn it back on after it shuts off my battery will be around 15% and will shut off again almost immediately.
If i plug the phone into the charger (with it turned on or off) it will charge to full in less than half an hour so i seriously doubt that the battery is actually draining, but the phone sure thinks it is.
So far to try and fix this i've wiped the cache and also performed a full factory reset and that actually only seemed to make it worse - before the reset this only happened maybe 3 or so times per month...now it's happening 3 or 4 times per day which really makes it unusable. The apps that i'm using when it shuts off are not consistent. It will do it in games, in chrome, in messenger - really anything.
I'm willing to try anything - if I didn't provide enough information about something let me know and i'll be glad to follow up.
Does the stock camera of nexus 5 have a burst mode feature?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have accidentally deleted camera folder in quickpic app and lost all of mi important photos... How to retrieve those photos...I haven't added any backup options too....
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy htc one shuts down after a couple of seconds when run on battery, but it stays on during charging. Is it a battery issue? Should I buy a new battery or send it to htc one for inspection? I even did a factory reset, but it didnt work. Also it turns off quickly while using camera, playing games, or in other words it stays on longer when I am not using it at all.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed since the 4.4.3 update on Verizon, that my M7 will shut down before the battery hits zero, in fact it occurs when the battery hits between 17-25%.
View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday I did an update to several programs including Google and noticed major battery drain. I was not sure which program did it but checked Battery in Settings and saw it was the screen causing the drain. Apparently when the Google program updated, it changed the setting for automatic brightness adjustment to ON. I turned it off and the battery is fine. I keep brightness set to about one quarter to one third brightness. I think the battery life is great and I can easily get thru the day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since the android 6 update I have noticed that Google play services is always top of my battery drain stats.
Also the mobile radio active figure is always going up and up!
I do have a android wear device synced but I always have and never noticed this is lollipop.
What could be causing this? I don't have Google now or location services on ...
Noticed that Google Play Services battery optimization is grayed out and I can't turn in on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe camera does not work on my sons iPhone 5s, operating system is iOS 7. He has never updated it. No picture on show up on screen, buttons do not function. Phone gets hot then shuts down on occasion as a result.
Info:
iPhone 5s, iOS 7
Nexus 5, 16GB, MRA58N (stock, not rooted). Sometimes the power percentages shown for each process in the battery monitor do not add up to the total battery drain? I am finding that sometimes they add up to within 1% of the total shown.... and sometimes they are WAY off with as much as 30% of the displayed battery drain unaccounted for. Since I don''t have access to the battery terminals, I can't determine independently whether the percentages shown are simply inaccurate, or whether there are missing processes (ie., processes not shown at all in the battery monitor).
