My nexus 5 running on marshmallow automatically shuts off its screen and no matter how much i press my power button screen doesn't turn on but all functions r working ( i mean i can attend calls by sliding blindly) at last i have to reboot my device by approximation....

View 10 Replies View Relatedlast year I dropped it and the front glass covering the LCD broke. As it didn't affected the digitizer (and I was running a bit low on money) I decided to don't replace it right away. The time passed and it keept working until (something like 10 or 11 months later) it started to shut down by itself, either it had 90% of battery or 15%. As the boot took a bit to complete it shuts down before it gets to the running OS. The only way to avoid this powering offs was to having it pluged in to the charger. At first I thought it was a bug or something like that, so I unrooted it and got the stock vanilla android. 5.1 I think it was by that time. It didn't solve the problem. When the Marshmallow update was available I installed it hoping it could fix the problem but it also didn't work. With two versions of the stock android not solving the problem I concluded it wasn't a software problem and began to think it could be something to do with the broken glass. Maybe it wasn't just the glass that got broken. I bought a replacement for the display and replaced it. But, well, it also didn't solve the problem.
Now I have a neat condition Nexus 5 that keeps shutting down everytime the screen is on for more than one or two minutes.
So, originally the problem was the phone's screen was going black straight after the Google logo, I had a hunch that it was a fault with just the screen as it was pretty badly smashed and seemed the phone was running in the background and you could get the backlight to come on. Then all of a sudden it would stop doing it and then start again intermittently.
I flashed to 6.0 to see if might be some random ROM error, but still exact same problems. Screen came back and then went again. So I grabbed a new screen and swapped out the part. Now at least I don't have a smashed screen and faulty digitizer.
Now the problem appears to be slightly worse. The phone gets to the Google logo again now but now it completely shuts down after it, but it still gets to fastboot! (Is fastboot stored on another chip than FW? If so that worries me.)
It usually happens when I'm playing a very graphic intense game. Annoying enough... But last night I noticed it getting hot and I was just surfing the web!? The screen is approaching too hot to touch temperature! I drilled a big long slit in my case to let it breathe better. And I have a tempered glass screen protector.

It would shut off at like 80% or other random percents! It has been doing this for a month, but it's gotten much worse! I can't even have it unplugged for 10 or 15 minutes without it doing this! Also the 5.1 update didn't even work.
View 13 Replies View RelatedIt will randomly crash, normally when I'm switching in between apps or opening apps. It shuts down without any notification, screen just goes blank. About 50% of the time I have to boot it up connected to the USB power cord or it will just crash again in the same fashion once the OS is loaded. Battery charge is at the same percent pre and post crash. I've downgraded to Kitkat as well as upgraded to the newest Lollipop 5.1, factory resets, and clearing cache. Currently on 5.1 and rooted. Same problem. I bought a battery from a questionable eBay seller and after installing am having the same problem, maybe more frequent. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue somewhere, perhaps I got a bad battery. My warranty is expired so I can't RMA it.

I followed the holding power and volume button and it goes to "restart bootloader" then suddenly nexus shuts off within 5 sec itself. Some times it goes to "Power Off" option but my nexus 5 suddenly shuts down within 5 sec itself. I tried several different chargers including the "official" one that came with the phone, but won't work.

I have it set to ring when I get a call and once I answer that call and hang up, it automatically turns to vibrate on inbound calls. I kept thinking I was hitting something on accident, but I watched my phone as my husband called and I just ended the call and it turn to vibrate within 2-3 seconds.

I just bought a Nexus 5 a week ago, its not rooted and runs Lollipop 5.1. After I've setup everything, I noticed whenever I turn off WiFi or leave the range of my WiFi, the cellular data doesn't kick in automatically, simply displays an exclamation mark on the network icon. I need to go into settings and tap on the access point in order to have the cellular data started. It's been very inconvenient.

I want to do a factory reset on my Nexus 5 but I don't want any backups/sync'd data to be restored (i.e. I want to completely start over as if I just got the device). I know how to do the factory reset but I'm not sure how to avoid any automatic restores or outdated/unwanted backup data.
Also, I noticed that in the Play Store apps that I no longer have installed still show up as installed. In fact a couple of apps that were never installed on my Nexus 5 (they were installed on an Android tablet that I no longer have a couple years ago) still show up. Is there a way to clear this/start over?
Tasker or any other program to automatically turn the media volume to max? This is convenient as I want the volume maxed out when I connect to my cars bluetooth (otherwise I really have to crank up the stereo volume), but I don't want media volume on max when not connected. In the past I have used one of two apps (Tasker or Bluetooth Connect & Play). Both of these apps are having issues adjusting the media volume when they worked perfectly on my pre kitkat phones. Sometimes it works correctly and maxes out the volume, other times it doesn't change it at all.

If I move out of range of my network obviously the phone's WiFi connection drops.
When I return to within range of my home network my phone doesn't automatically reconnect to my home network. I have to press the power button on the phone to wake up the screen and within a couple of seconds the phone connects to my home network.
When I first got the phone I never had this issue. The phone would reconnect to my home network even though the screen hadn't been woken up.
When I got the phone it was on an older version of Android .. before Android version 5.
I have run the phone in Safe Mode and the automatic reconnect still doesn't occur.
So on Lollipop 5.1.1 should the reconnect to WiFi be automatic ?
Nexus 6 periodically not automatically connecting to established wifi connections? When this happens I have to power off and then when powering back on the connection is resumed.

When making calls, I hear ringing and right when the other person picks up, the phone automatically ends the call as if I hit the end call button. Same thing happens with incoming calls. I have full bars when this happens. So far, I've tried re-inserting the SIM card and doing a cache partition wipe to no avail. What could be going on?

After attempting to turn it on again (to no avail), I resorted to plugging it in, which resulted in the phone looping on the google page then vibrating before repeating. I tried to get it into the bootloader menu, but it appeared and then reverted to the google page after the phone vibrated.
I've tried looking up solutions, but the only plausible situation for me seems to be returning it so the warranty can take over. The only hitch with that being that the bootloader is unlocked (not rooted, just the bootloader). I really am stuck, and do not know what to do

I have purchased a E6-00 about 4 months back. This phone has a tendency of automatically shutting down. It often shuts down when I am using it. It always shuts down when I keep it idle for a while.I have visited Nokia care twice, once they restore the factory settings. The problem persistedNext time around they upgrade the software to Bell OS. After a while the white screen with the nokia sign appears for few seconds and then shuts off automatically and the charging light comes off. When i tried to use the power button it doesn't turn on.
