I am one of those whose enterprise email options have crashed in open state (so I can't change any settings) and IT can't reinstall my OS (the only fix) before I leave for holiday. If I disable data services In my mobile network options will that prevent emails from being forwarded to my BB from the enterprise server?

Then once I selected my BES account there was an option to "send email to handheld" or not. Something I turned off every evening and back on in the morning (don't want work emails bugging me all night).BUT, now I can't find where that option is on my Torch. Very strange. I scroll to forward and then it wants the email address I want to forward to. After entering the email address, no matter which key I hit, Blackberry key or scroll button, I only get two choices...."Save Draft" and "Full Menu". I then click on Full Menu and there is no option to "send."

To maneuver around this problem I simply forward all my emails from my University account to my Gmail which I can receive on my blackberry. View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout the upcoming devices all featuring touchscreens, how about adding touchscreen enable/disable option ?For example, my company operates gas stations so I work with liquid hydrocarbons (gas, biodiesel, motor oil) and most of the time during the day I use the trackpad for phone calls and work apps like DocsToGo or BBM instead of a touchscreen because of its functionality and well, it won't become a mess if my hands are a little dirty, just like the touchscreen would. But during the night, hanging out with my friends or family, when sharing videos and photos, I'd love it if my BB 9700 running OS6 had a touchscreen (that's why I'd buy a Bold with a touchscreen), so I could have better media playing and internet browsing experience.Also, I've heard smartphone processors render faster when they are not handling touchscreens, so disabling it could give a merely functional experience while working (which is what most working people love about BlackBerry devices) and would save some battery life as well. Still, you could get the full social and media experience(which is what RIM is aiming at too with the upcoming devices) anytime by enabling it again.

Its kinda ridiculous that you have to go through a bunch of steps and jump through hoops the turn off an email account. Or just delete it. When Im at work I dont need to emails to go to the phone and I just end having to delete a bunch of them. Ok rant off heres my problem. I looked in the BB instruction to stop forwarding message to my phone and it told me how to do it. It says go into messages, then open the menu, go to options, email settings and tell the phone to stop forwarding emails. Problem is I don't have that option. I need it to display the number of unread emails on the icon (I think the little circled number is called a badge?), but do NOT want my phone making a notification sound every time an email comes in. This is really annoying in the middle of the night, especially when it's from spam emails.
When I go into the email app, and choose <menu> --> Settings --> <email account name> --> Notifications --> Notification Sound, a list of folders at /storage/emulated/0 appears instead of a list of tone sounds and a None option. I don't know what to do at this point to disable the notification sound.

I have couple of email accounts like gmail, hotmail etc ... Whenever i received an email the counter shows the number. like lets say i got 1 mail in gmail and 1 in hotmail, the counter next to YELLOW icon on Top row shows 2.
I want to disable counter for my HOTMAIL account. Is it possible? So that even if i receive any email on hotmail, i shouldnt see the YELLOW mail notification on Top row of main menu.
I'm new to blackberry and having some issue with email and WIFI. The thing is that I have no data plan, I get charge on the amount of trafic. So I want to force the phone to GSM and be able to get my email pushed whenever I'm connected to WIFI. I've search everywhere but it seems that there is no way to do it. i have a problem setting up my email. im using blackberry curve 8900. i've registered for BIS. and this is my first time to set up my email. but when i tried to set it up, it prompts me with a message saying "your device had a problem connecting to the server. so i tried to reboot by pulling out the battery and sim card and returned them again, i also register for host routing table to recognize my network but nothing happened.
