I selected silent from Sound and Alerts when I was in cofernce, now when touch on Sound and Alerts, It doesn't open, i tried to get into setup and try to open it, it doesn't open, my fone in silent mode.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust picked up a Torch 9860 from Verizon on Wednesday to replace my ailing Storm 2. I was assured by the salesperson that I'd be able to go home and transfer data from my old phone to the new one using the Desktop Manager (I had not previously used this software). Long story short, I tried to download the Desktop Manager to three different computers without success, each time getting the same error message stating that ....C++ 2008 Distributable... needed to be on my computer. So dead end there.
Then the fun really begins. I set up my email account on the Torch and it will receive emails, but I can't open any of them. Tried the Browser- it won't connect to the internet either. This is a brand new phone, right out of the box! I've installed no apps, nothing, stock out of the box!
I went to the Verizon store yesterday and they were able to transfer my contacts over from my old phone but also could not get it to open messages or connect to the web. I can use the phone and text, but that's it.
If I can't download Desktop Manager or connect to the web,
I got a BB torch 9860 a couple of days ago . After sometime I start working on the phone, the phone gets stuck and the sound doesnt work. Everything else is normally working.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi have been using Torch 9860 since about a month, am facing a problem since last 20 days. the problem is the sound suddenly goes off. everything else is functional , its just that i cant hear ring tones , cant hear the person talking on other side, if dialed. Every thing goes fine when i open the backcase, take the battery out and restart. This keeps occurring more than 5 times a day.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had a Blackberry Torch 9800 at&t version and after a while, the sound just would no longer go through the earphones and would only come out the external speaker, I figured the problem was hardware failure so I upgraded to Blackberry Torch 9860.....and now the new 9860 that I have had for barely a month is doing the same thing.
Two consecutive phones doing exactly the same thing makes me think the problem is not hardware but rather software related......is there some setting in the phone somewhere that controls where the sound comes out? I want to be able use my earphones so I don't disturb everyone else at work.
I just bought a brand new 9860 Torch today and all of a sudden I cannot open the options menu to change settings. Also I cannot view my network and connections to see whether my data service is turned on. I am currently not receiving data on my device. This is alarming as I spent a small fortune to acquire this device today. Again I discovered to my horror the earpiece jack does not hold in the port of my device and unable to listen to music via handsfree. The options icon on the home screen does not open at all when I touch it.Instead it freezes. Same with the network and connections options under network connections.

The booting bar loads and gets to somewhere near the end and hooks there after which it never moves again! I've left it booting for over a day and it still didn't boot! I've reloaded the OS severally, even done a downgrade to 7.0 but still, no success.

Every 24hrs, i keep getting this same problem on my blackberry 9700 bold (vodafone UK).I only realise it when someone rings me, or sends me a text, etc. - regardless of sound selected for any alert (from incoming call to sms to email etc) it just plays 3 beeps (which is definately an alert sound i recognise, but I can't identify which one it is. But its definitately on the list on the phone)So I try to select my ringtone and click 'Try It', and it says the following:"Invalid ringtone selected; please make another selection."Anyways, the problem goes away for a few hours after doing a battery pull. Then it comes back again.I also have BerryBuzz installed (if this at all makes any difference whatsoever)

My Storm had been working fine and I didn't change any settings. Suddenly even though I had the phone set to silent if a call came in the ringtone would play. This had never happened before. Now the ringtone doesn't play at all and none of the other alerts sound at all. If I try and test them they either do not play or I get an error stating it is invalid. If I get a voicemail I'll get a weird beep but that is about it.

i have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried: Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry softwareFull factory resetCreating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset onesLoads of battery pulls before and/or after any changesI have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
I bought Bold 9900 today and I have checked all the settings but still when I receive any calls it only vibrates. The ringer is not working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 5s with OS version 7.1.2 (11D257). Recently I noticed that I was missing calls and text messages because the phone didn't ring or give the text alert. There is no vibration either. The phone is not in "do not disturb" mode and the manual sound switch on the side of the phone is turned on. It doesn't happen on every call or text, but the past few days it is more than 75% of them. I find myself checking the phone more often now that I'm aware of the problem. That was prompted by the fact that it has already caused a few problems with customers and employees who have returned my call to them within seconds only to have my phone go to voicemail and me not see their message for up to a half hour or so. I'm going to do an update right now just to be sure that I have the latest and greatest Apple patches.

My iPhone 3G is being recognised perfectly happily by iTunes, but absolutely nothing else. It doesn't appear in Finder and doesn't open iPhoto when I plug it in, so I can back up my photos.
I've tried restarting both the Mac (which is running Snow Leopard) and the iPhone. I've tried several cables. The result is always the same. iTunes spots the iPhone (it did use to automatically open iTunes, but I stopped that) and nothing else. No icon on the desktop, no appearance in Finder and won't show in any searches I do.
How can I fix this, and start backing up photos again?
