it says could not start the camera. close other applications and try opening the camera again when i try to open the camera and when i try to open the cam corder says another application is using the camera. Cannot start video camera viewfinder.

I just got my Iphone 4 but I noticed when taking video the camera tend to zoom in more by default versus the camera default. Is this normal? ON my 3GS the video and camcorder zoom are at the same level.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince the beginning, the camera/video functions have been sketchy. The camcorder would work about half the time. Then (unrelated, I think) my SD card blew out. I got a new, better SD Card (32G, class 4), and suddenly, my camera/video was working much better. THEN, a few months later, both completely siezed up. The camera app would start, but in seconds, it would lock up, the picture display would lock, and I couldn't do anything. Same goes for the camcorder app. So, I then downloaded and tried out a few camera apps from the Play Store. all of which worked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy camera and camcorder don't work, I take a photo with the camera and it does all the right things but does not save the image, the camcorder pushes you out of the camcorder screen when you push the record button and back to the home screen, I have tried to clear the Cache data under phone settings. If I turn the phone off and on again it works fine for a little bit but I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to take a photo or movie.

Since upgrading to IOS 5.1 when iPhone 4 is locked the camera icon does not open when selected. I have to unlock phone with my passcoded to use the camera. The feature worked with IOS 5.0.

I have two issues. I took a picture using Nokia camera app which is on default. Some pics didn't save.
Next is when you take picture. When u go to photo albums. You see a link below saying open in Nokia camera. How come pics have that link and others don't? I took some smartcam pics too look at later and can't open it up and do the action shots and other stuff.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to have lost the autofocus on the camcorder app - it doesn't want to autofocus or "continus" focus.Both choices do nothing.The camera will focus, but the camcorder just sits there at whatever default... Worked fine for awhile after a reset, but seems to have suddenly stopped again.No amount of power cycling changes anything. I had ATK running, tried stopping that at startup, no effect. Only have few other apps installed, such as Rhapsody.Any advice other than another reset? ...Not really wanting to 'root' it just for a different camera/camcorder app, that seems a little extreme. Tried an "MIUI" app, but it seemed out of date, and wouldn't autofocus on camcorder either.........Only other (BAD) glitch, which forced me to do factory reset, was inability to remove "corporate" email acct. after adding/removing/adding - it was "stuck" somehow and would not let me remove it. I have since removed it successfully after the reset, but have gone with "Touchdown" for email.Other than the camcorder bug, and the email client glitch, it's a solid device!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the Bionic on the launch date, but hadn't gotten around to testing the camcorder capabilities. I tested it last night and was a bit annoyed by the autofocus. I tried shooting the inside of my bedroom, but the autofocus kept engaging every 2 seconds. In effect, it made the whole video choppy as the screen zoomed in and out slightly every couple of seconds. To verify, I held the camcorder as straight as possible and focused on a plain white wall (so it wasn't an issue of excessive movement on the screen). I recorded in both 720p and 1080p using the default camcorder settings (no flash, no color effects).
I was using the stock camcorder app and have not installed any 3rd party apps for the camera or camcorder. The room was lit with artificial lights and was neither overly bright no overly dark. I am going to test it again outside in the sun to see if the same thing happens.Is this something that you are seeing as well, and could there be a fix? I still have about 10 more days to return this phone, and of all the seemingly "little" things that bug me about this phone (screen, battery life while idle, poor picture quality), this one is probably going to bug me the most.

Secondly, i had tried to download some of the many pictures i have shot on my IPhone (great having a camera in my pocket) but the IPhoto on my older MAC powerbook G4 laptop (running OS X 10.5.8) insists on starting at the beginning of all the pictures, even though i say not to download the duplicates, and gets hung up/frozen halfway through ignoring the duplicates and freezes up, so i never get to download the new ones. Any other apps related to my camera (Snapchat, Facebook, etc.) experience the same issue. I have cleared data/caches, I have restarted my phone in safety mode, I've tried removing the SIM card -- all to no avail.

I literally just got this phone after I had to send in my previous HTC One which was exhibiting a different slew of problems (purple haze and being perpetually "awake"). Needless to say, I'm very frustrated. Can you all think of anything else I should try before having to send in a second phone in two weeks?
