HTC One M7 :: Why Is Phone Crashing Upon Trying To Open The Camera App
Jan 18, 2015
Every time I try to open the camera on my phone, a brief black screen appears and the app fails to open. Any other apps related to my camera (Snapchat, Facebook, etc.) experience the same issue. I have cleared data/caches, I have restarted my phone in safety mode, I've tried removing the SIM card -- all to no avail.
This is what comes up when it crashes:
I literally just got this phone after I had to send in my previous HTC One which was exhibiting a different slew of problems (purple haze and being perpetually "awake"). Needless to say, I'm very frustrated. Can you all think of anything else I should try before having to send in a second phone in two weeks?
I just get the m9 today and the camera app will not open. I get the unexpected crash message and the phone crashes the app back to the home screen. I tried doing the software update via my carrier and it didnt solve. I tried clearing the camera app data and restarting in safe mode but didnt solve. tried factory reset but exactly the same problem.
Another issue that I'm seeing is that the camera roll (in the lumia camera app) will frequently cause the phone to crash/reset. I've had it happen at least 5 times so far.I suspect it has to do with the living images.
I am using a Lumia 1020 and it worked perfectly for almost 2 years until today... I installed time lapse studio excited to make time lapse videos... And then created a project from my files and deleted the picture file in the app and then found that it actually deleted every single photo in my camera roll and all other albums were also empty. Now have been trying for almost 4 hours to get Lumia camera to open but it crashes on launch. I tried many soft resets and re installed the app twice but no results.
Since upgrading to IOS 5.1 when iPhone 4 is locked the camera icon does not open when selected. I have to unlock phone with my passcoded to use the camera. The feature worked with IOS 5.0.
I can't open the settings menu - it just keeps crashing.
It started today and the phone had been getting really hot and draining battery at twice the speed it normally does, so I wanted to check battery usage in settings, which is when i discovered the fault.
Whether I try to access it through the main icon or via the pull-down tray icon, it just flashed white as if it was opening a new window, then returned to the menu.
I figured it was a case of hard reset as, due to the fact settings was unavailable, I couldn't even check for a new software update. So anyway, I hard reset and the problem is still there.
What's weirder is for the first 40 minutes or so it crashed in the same way as before, now it pops up and says 'sorry this crashed, would you like to send an error report'.
So I did. the error report says 'report type: crash, package name 'com.android.settings' ....
firstly the camera shutter cannot open to take photo and now can open but the screen is black, what and how should i do to take photo, I did try to search methods to try but it did not workout on my iphone.
When I start the camera, it open the screen but does not open the shutter.and goes into a screen indicating something in progress and then in few seconds - goes back to the locked screen.
I'm on Android Version 5.0.2 thru AT&T. My camera seems to occasionally crash when i first startup and it seems to crash about 50% of the time i take video in the middle of the video. I don't have any high resolution settings. why it keeps crashing?
that happen, if , 2 or 3 ours using my bb storm2, the when click "camera".... splash screen appear..about 1sec.I used OS ----> 9550AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel1656_PL4.2.0.442_A5.0.0.1015
ERROR CODE(splashscreen) - I cupture it ------------------------------- ARM11:ISTO :Excep ARM9: t Failed Task:
I just got my new galaxy s6 today and so far everything is good but I can't however access camera settings when I go into camera and click settings it crashes and just goes back to where I would take a picture I've already tried restarting the phone and even clearing cache and my phone is up to date.
I cannot seem to convince my camera app to operate. As soon as I touch the icon, it produces a window stating that unfortunately the Camera has stopped. Tried to switch off and on the phone several times, but to no avail. My Nexus 5 runs on 5.1.1.
From 10 tentatives that I tried to open the camera, in 4 times the camera crash ... A black screen occur, until the message "App camera must be closed" or a lot of red/pink lines occurs in the image and freeze the camera app too.
I saw red lines with my S3 with Cyanogen OS ... It's appears conflict between software x hardware...
I down loaded an app that required a barcode scanner. After installing the app. I noticed that when I clicked on the Camera Widget. The phone app would hang and force a close or indicate the camera App had failed to initialize. After some trouble shooting and back off the 2 apps I loaded I am still having intermitted issue with the camera app hanging or not initializing. how to reinitalize / reinstall the camera app without wiping out the phone and starting over?
My messaging app, mail app and camera roll won't open. Everytime I try to open it, it doesnt fully load and crashes. My power button doesn't work, so i cant restart it. I have an iPhone 4s with 16G memory.
I have two issues. I took a picture using Nokia camera app which is on default. Some pics didn't save.
Next is when you take picture. When u go to photo albums. You see a link below saying open in Nokia camera. How come pics have that link and others don't? I took some smartcam pics too look at later and can't open it up and do the action shots and other stuff.
I've only had my Blackberry Bold for about 2 months. The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on!When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.
when I try to open my camera it says "could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again ". But there are no applications open
I have previously used a 16Gb micro SD card, but it crashed. I then bought a 32Gb card and it was working fine for a few weeks, but now that too has crashed. I have tried to re-format both in my phone but it keeps failing and now I have lost my phone ringing normally. I had no problems regarding losing my phone ringing before.
I got my HTC One four days ago and I love it to bits. My problem? The Sync Manager. Since last night, it would crash every time I tried to sync my phone to it.
I would like to remove the media I placed on there with the manager and delete it for good. How to do this without going through the program? Also, which software I can use to sync my phone? If not, I can continue with the copy and drop method .
Around a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.
I swapped iphone with my cousin, for a blackberry torch, the phone not that old, 6 months max, but the last week the phone started freezing and crushing, so i looked on fourms, and ended up doing a fresh install off the Os and formated the memory card and did not save the old settings.
But the phone kept on doing the same thing, so i wiped the Os, installed the most uptodate Os i could find, and it still keeps on crashing and sometimes it will do this as the phone loads, as it finishes loading up, or after couple hours. So its safe to say, it cant be a app, or Os playing up.
Also the main thing i have noticed if the phone stays nice and cool, the phone will work fine, but once the phone warms up a little bit, thats when it starts to crash/freeze/reboot, but sometimes the phone will not turn on after putting the battery back, you have to leave the phone for 5 mins or so.
Could it be a type off thermal cut off to protect the phone? or battery? But the only thing i cant understand is, the phone or battery dont get hot, just warm.
I am running version7.1.0.163 on Verizon. my problem is during phone calls, the phone will drop the call, and i cannot make any more calls to anyone without pulling the battery and rebooting. Gave an error code , but unfortunately i did not write down.
