I just got a Xoom wifi with 4.1.1 as a gift. I have a droid 4 and many mp4 videos that play on it with no problem. My Xoom will not even allow me to transfer the video to it saying the format is not supported. Why can I play these on droid 4 and not on Xoom. Is there a problem with the software in the Xoom?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI like to download instructional videos (how-tos) and then burn them to CD or DVD for future use. I bought a Xoom so I could download at a faster speed (4G) but now can't figure how to save them and transfer them to my PC for burning. I have tethered Xoom to PC but can't seem to find any files saved that look like the video I watched on Xoom .
View 10 Replies View RelatedJust received a 32GB PNY Class 10 card and installed it in my 3G Xoom. Everything appears to be working, create directories, copied videos to the Video directory, etc. The same videos I moved to the SD card all played just fine from the default directory.Video app sees the videos, but when I attempt to open a video the screen dims and nothing happens. I've stopped the Video app, cleared the cache, and unmounted and remounted the SD Card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I uprgraded my Xoom wi-fi to ICS, Amazon Prime videos became totally unviewable. I almost gave up ever being able to use the Xoom for viewing streaming videos again. Then I read, on this forum, that Adobe had upgraded Flash and that now the videos should be okay. I have since watched bout 4 or 5 videos and they were very smooth without a single hiccup or sign of dropped frames. However, I tried to watch "Explorers" and it is totally unviewable with jerky sound and blocky video. I tried restarting it several times with no change. Then I picked a different video, also on Amazon Prime, and it worked fine.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi just recently got the xoom, it convinced me enough on reviews and looks but now i'm frustrated beyond belief. one of the main reasons i wanted a tablet was to use it to view videos online without having to download them and transfer them over.but that's all gone down hill since i brought home the xoom. i love it, my family loves it but it keeps dropping the connection only when i view videos. be it Internet or anything else, my connection will be dropped at about a minute but before reaching two minutes. basically all i have ever gotten to view is two minutes into videos before i get cut off. i can be standing right next to my router with perfect connection on everything but as soon as a video begins to play the connection gets dropped and i'm stuck with a brick in my hand.
i've tested it out with other devices such as my phone, and my 2 laptops, even the family wii and videos play like a charm. the xoom however likes to give me a small preview and then cut me off. i've looked into the problem all over the internet and haven't found any solution. before i get the whole it's your router spiel it's only happening when i try streaming a video. i've updated all i could think off to the latest versions but to no avail. i even focused on looking at the wifi indicator to see that it will have strong signal and be working perfectly but at around a minute and a half it shoots down the connection and shoots back up. this isn't a problem if i'm just browsing the web but the videos don't seem to resume loading after it gets the connection back.
Is there any way to turn off geo tagging of photos and videos without turning off gps and cell network location services in settings?
View 5 Replies View Related I can listen to music and watch videos on my Xoom2 via Wi-Fi from my computer but when I try the same music or videos from a USB Flash Drive, I can see all the files but when I try to play any of them the Xoom2 goes to "Settings".
I was wondering if anyone is aware how to play Demand 5 videos(http://www.channel5.com/demand5) in full screen mode. The video is in Flash and plays fine in normal mode. Yet, when I attempt to tap on 'full screen' button, I am taken to the advertiser's page and video stops working. The particular video I was trying to play is of latest 'Fifth Gear'This is not only problem with XOOM, I noticed it on Sony tablet too as well as on PlayBook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a Bluetooth headset (Best Buy brand) when watching videos on my Xoom WiFi. However, the sound is nearly a second behind the video. I have the same problem when using the bluetooth headphones with my HP notebook. I understand that Bluetooth requires a lot more processing than hard-wired headphones. However, a fast processor such as the one in the Xoom should have negligible processing delay. I suppose the headphones could contribute most of the delay, but I still find it hard to accept that delay should be so long. I use digital hearing aids that have a 32 channel digital filter. The hearing instruments have to first do an A to D conversion, then process the audio and convert it back to Analog before sending the signal to the output transducer. Yet the delay through the hearing aids is negligible. Why is the delay so long through bluetooth or are the Best Buy headphones just crap? I really like using wireless headphones. Wired headphones are always getting tangled or I forget about the wires and walk away from my notebook and either yank the headphones off my head or come very close to dragging the notebook onto the floor.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy video app in my XOOM which pretty much is linked to your Google account to rent movies etc. keeps crashing on start. I have tried to uninstall the update that came through and the system automatically restored the factory version, but still it keeps crashing. I tried clearing the apps cache... no change. Is this a app bug?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI seem to have lost the autofocus on the camcorder app - it doesn't want to autofocus or "continus" focus. Both choices do nothing. The camera will focus, but the camcorder just sits there at whatever default... Worked fine for awhile after a reset, but seems to have suddenly stopped again. No amount of power cycling changes anything. I had ATK running, tried stopping that at startup, no effect. Only have few other apps installed, such as Rhapsody.Any advice other than another reset? ...Not really wanting to 'root' it just for a different camera/camcorder app, that seems a little extreme. Tried an "MIUI" app, but it seemed out of date, and wouldn't autofocus on camcorder either.........Only other (BAD) glitch, which forced me to do factory reset, was inability to remove "corporate" email acct. after adding/removing/adding - it was "stuck" somehow and would not let me remove it. I have since removed it successfully after the reset, but have gone with "Touchdown" for email.Other than the camcorder bug, and the email client glitch, it's a solid device!
View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the xoom 32 wifi and got it up and running. It is using the 3.2 system and immediately when I turned it on I noticed that the boot up screen (blue honeycomb screen) was very blurry. Once it booted up I went on the browser and noticed that some of the ad boxes on the browser, dolphin and default were fuzzy and grainy. I also noticed that videos that opened and played from web pages were a little blurry. This is not the case with my friends aseus. We did a side by side. Is this normal for the xoom? Especially the blurry boot up screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI copied pictures for each of the movies I have on my XOOM wifi SD card.Thinking if I named them the same as the movies, the XOOM would match the names and pick up the thumbnails, but no.Is there a way to get the movie posters (thumbnails) to show up in the movie gallery on the videos?
View 5 Replies View RelatedVerizon Xoom 3.2 Watching a movie that I transferred to the Xoom from my computer like I've been doing for months now (even after the 3.2 update). Paused it to take care of some things. Come back in about 20 minutes and the Xoom is locked up. Had to do a volume up/power button to restart it.After restarting, movies won't play. Neither will video taken with the Xoom. When I go into Gallery and touch a video, the screen sort of dims but nothing else happens. Normally when I select a movie, I get a choice of stock player or RockPlayer. If I open RockPlayer from my Apps, I can play the movie.I did an additional power down/power up but still video will not work.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have problems when watching video with sound out via bluetooth. Sometimes the playback begins to stutter severely and becomes unwatchable. The problem was present already with Honeycomb. I hoped it would go away with ICS, but it didn't. I am wondering if others have the same problem and if they have found a solution? The problem is intermittent. If I restart my Xoom playback is usually fine. Sometimes it is possible to watch a full movie, but usually the playback fails after a while. Or just as I start playback. I have tried several different apps for video playback and also tried with wifi shut off. No difference. I have used both a Jawbone Jambox and a Belkin bluetooth receiver. No difference. Once the problem appears, only a reboot will fix it. However playback over wire or internal speakers is still fine. Even after a reboot the problem will return after a while. Typically as playback is started. I have the Jawbone less than two meters away. Using a wired connection to the jawbone or headphones is an easy workaround, and what I normally do, but it would be nice if BT worked with video playback.
