ive triedflipping the screen when opening attachments in gmail with no luck. the same email sent to my yahoo opened and i could view....im also having problems viewing videos in facebook and on you tube..what can i do?

I bought a Xoom so I could download at a faster speed (4G) but now can't figure how to save them and transfer them to my PC for burning. I have tethered Xoom to PC but can't seem to find any files saved that look like the video I watched on Xoom .

View 6 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I take pictures and/or videos with my phone, I can't see the picture or video on my phone. I take a photo. The phone acts like it took a photo. I see a thumbnail initially. When I try to view it again, there is just an icon and the photo is gone. It will say it isn't viewable or a video isn't playable. Can't view them if I transfer them to my computer either. I don't understand what the problem is because sometimes it works just fine. I can still see old photos or videos. The formats are exactly the same as the old photos. I didn't change the settings.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my DX, whenever I went to the Gallery, I was presented with the folders on my SD card that contained photos and videos. One folder I had was called "Wallpapers". On the DX2, all photos and videos get lumped together and there is no way of navigating to the folder that contains the photos or videos you want to see or play.I understand that there is a way to "group" photos and videos by day, week, or month. Fine. But why not also let you group them by the folders they are in on your SD card?If you click on "My library" and then click on the "My Library: Timeline" drop-down button at the top of the screen, you get a popup that shows you can view your "My library" by Albums, Locations, Tags, and Timeline. Again, why not also include the folders that they are in on your SD card? I was hoping that was what viewing your library by "Albums" would be, but that's not the case. When I click on that, I get two albums: "All videos" and "All photos". Not very convenient if you want to view a particular movie, video clip, or photo. I don't want to have to sort through a folder containing ALL of the videos or ALL of the photos.
Here's the problem as I see it in practice:Say you want to change your wallpaper. Okay, long-press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers". Now, select where you want to pull your wallpaper from. "Gallery". On my DX, it would take me to the Gallery and it would show separate folders for Camera, All Photos, and the folder I created for all of my wallpapers, called "Wallpapers". So then I could click on the "Wallpapers" folder and easily select the image I wanted as my wallpaper.ith the DX2, after long-pressing on your home screen and selecting "Wallpapers" and then "Gallery" as the source, it takes you straight to ALL of your pictures. I have more than 1,700 on my SD card so I don't want to scroll through all of them just to find the wallpaper images I saved that are mixed in with photos I took with my phone, downloaded images, etc. Sure, if you click on the Menu button and select "Group by", you can group all of the thousands of images by Day, Week, or Month, but again that doesn't help since who the heck knows when those wallpapers were created?
Has anyone else noticed that you can't zoom in on sattalite view as close as you used to be able to..Used to I could see my car in my driveway.Not anymore, checked all my settings and see no option to get as close a view as in the past..
View 3 Replies View Relatedi can not view/play videos on facebook; neither from the browser or the app. i can play Internet videos and vimeo videos on facebook. it seems to be only ones labeled hd. when i called verizon about it, they sent me another phone. the problem did not go away. i assume it is a setting somewhere that i can not find. it does not give me an error message. it simply says: "error file cannot be displayed or played." i believe they are all in .mp4 i tried downloading another video app to see if it could play them. it can not do it either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got new Xoom tablet from my senior and I connected it to my Win 7 - 32 bit laptop via a USB cable and it says the device drivers are not installed.I have tried:
1) Enabling USB debugging mode
2) Downloading motohelp drivers from your site the latest one.
3) Switch my tablet on and off and on
4) Restart my machine couple of times.
5) Tried on all the available USB slots on my laptop.
6) Updating drivers via Device Manager ->Update driver.
7) Followed all other solutions which are mentioned on forums and internet.It worked on my Win 7 64 bit in my office but not even getting detected on my IBM T461 Win 7 32 bit laptop.I used USB cable ofmy HTC desire smart phone both times.
An earlier post implied that 3.1 has a setting for uastring, and that about:debug is no longer needed.
I haven't been able to locate any uastring settings in browser settings or system configuration.
uastring still works, but has to be reapplied if the browser is closed, same as 3.0.1. A post elsewhere had indicated that the settings would persist until reboot.
i went on to the android market to rent a movie using the new google movies application, but there does not seem to be a videos app! i can watch using Internet, but want to be able to download to i can watch it on the plane, etc. where there is no internet connection. according to this:

When I open a pdf from a web page link I get a force close in the stock browser.I was able to open pdfs in Dolphin with a plug in but prefer the stock browser.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI got my Xoom primarily to access my database and bookmarked & annotated PDFs during client home visits and SS hearings without bringing a laptop. Of course, the Verizon salesperson said I could do all that. But, I could not find a PDF reader that retains bookmarks . My files are sometimes 400-600 or more pages long. I can't scroll through page by page to quickly find what I need using docs to go.
I set up remote desktop for Xoom (phonemypc) as an alternative. This works great(except for brief lags in response times) but I have to enlarge the view on my Xoom to read the remotely controlled monitor screen. I can't see a whole page at once because of this. If, though, I try to scroll in any of the remote desk top views, the Xoom screen moves. I don't want my Xoom screen to move. I want to move within the program on my remote desktop.
Will a bluetooth mouse enable me to use scroll bars without moving the Xoom screen? Or is there an app or method for stopping the Xoom screen from moving when I try to slide a scroll bar on my remote desktop screen? (trying to pull up the traditional right click menu on a scroll bar is a hit and miss experience and it takes multiple tries to get where I need to go in a document--it's too slow).
When i was clicking on the View attachement button, or Play (for music file) the screen was dimming, but nothing was happening. Then i tried to open a video from gallery app - same thing. The screen is dimming, but nothing else is happening. Then i noticed the same thing from browser and figured that it happens everytime there should be a popup menu with programs to open the file menu it wasn't doing anything.

My Xoom will not even allow me to transfer the video to it saying the format is not supported. Why can I play these on droid 4 and not on Xoom. Is there a problem with the software in the Xoom?

Everything appears to be working, create directories, copied videos to the Video directory, etc. The same videos I moved to the SD card all played just fine from the default directory.Video app sees the videos, but when I attempt to open a video the screen dims and nothing happens. I've stopped the Video app, cleared the cache, and unmounted and remounted the SD Card.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I uprgraded my Xoom wi-fi to ICS, Amazon Prime videos became totally unviewable. I almost gave up ever being able to use the Xoom for viewing streaming videos again. Then I read, on this forum, that Adobe had upgraded Flash and that now the videos should be okay. I have since watched bout 4 or 5 videos and they were very smooth without a single hiccup or sign of dropped frames. However, I tried to watch "Explorers" and it is totally unviewable with jerky sound and blocky video. I tried restarting it several times with no change. Then I picked a different video, also on Amazon Prime, and it worked fine.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI notice that there is an option under Settings - Accounts & Sync to add a facebook account but when you click on Add account and select Facebook nothing happens. I have my Facebook account setup under the Facebook app and I am able to use Facebook as an option when I share photos but I am looking for the ability to have Facebook contacts show in the Contacts. I have an Evo 4G and I have the ability to have my Facebook contacts included with two Google accounts (work and personal) and would like to do so on my tablet as well. Is this just a feature of my HTC phone or a failing of Honeycomb 3.1 that I'm unaware of or is this specific to the Xoom FE?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi just recently got the xoom, it convinced me enough on reviews and looks but now i'm frustrated beyond belief. one of the main reasons i wanted a tablet was to use it to view videos online without having to download them and transfer them over.but that's all gone down hill since i brought home the xoom. i love it, my family loves it but it keeps dropping the connection only when i view videos. be it Internet or anything else, my connection will be dropped at about a minute but before reaching two minutes. basically all i have ever gotten to view is two minutes into videos before i get cut off. i can be standing right next to my router with perfect connection on everything but as soon as a video begins to play the connection gets dropped and i'm stuck with a brick in my hand.
i've tested it out with other devices such as my phone, and my 2 laptops, even the family wii and videos play like a charm. the xoom however likes to give me a small preview and then cut me off. i've looked into the problem all over the internet and haven't found any solution. before i get the whole it's your router spiel it's only happening when i try streaming a video. i've updated all i could think off to the latest versions but to no avail. i even focused on looking at the wifi indicator to see that it will have strong signal and be working perfectly but at around a minute and a half it shoots down the connection and shoots back up. this isn't a problem if i'm just browsing the web but the videos don't seem to resume loading after it gets the connection back.
