Has anyone had any issues trying to view pictures or videos in the gallery app since the update? Mine started crashing when I open the app, it started a few days ago along with random system reboots.

View 3 Replies View RelatedYesterday I recorded a video and then when I tired to watch it, it wouldn't let me. The gallery app would freeze or it would come up blank. So I tired the video app and it played for like 2 seconds and freeze as well. I cleared the cache, forced the app to stop and I turned it off a bunch of times and still nothing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my DX, whenever I went to the Gallery, I was presented with the folders on my SD card that contained photos and videos. One folder I had was called "Wallpapers". On the DX2, all photos and videos get lumped together and there is no way of navigating to the folder that contains the photos or videos you want to see or play.I understand that there is a way to "group" photos and videos by day, week, or month. Fine. But why not also let you group them by the folders they are in on your SD card?If you click on "My library" and then click on the "My Library: Timeline" drop-down button at the top of the screen, you get a popup that shows you can view your "My library" by Albums, Locations, Tags, and Timeline. Again, why not also include the folders that they are in on your SD card? I was hoping that was what viewing your library by "Albums" would be, but that's not the case. When I click on that, I get two albums: "All videos" and "All photos". Not very convenient if you want to view a particular movie, video clip, or photo. I don't want to have to sort through a folder containing ALL of the videos or ALL of the photos.
Here's the problem as I see it in practice:Say you want to change your wallpaper. Okay, long-press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers". Now, select where you want to pull your wallpaper from. "Gallery". On my DX, it would take me to the Gallery and it would show separate folders for Camera, All Photos, and the folder I created for all of my wallpapers, called "Wallpapers". So then I could click on the "Wallpapers" folder and easily select the image I wanted as my wallpaper.ith the DX2, after long-pressing on your home screen and selecting "Wallpapers" and then "Gallery" as the source, it takes you straight to ALL of your pictures. I have more than 1,700 on my SD card so I don't want to scroll through all of them just to find the wallpaper images I saved that are mixed in with photos I took with my phone, downloaded images, etc. Sure, if you click on the Menu button and select "Group by", you can group all of the thousands of images by Day, Week, or Month, but again that doesn't help since who the heck knows when those wallpapers were created?
I have a relatively new Razr M. I have taken several pictures with it over the past 2 months with no problems. Starting a few days ago, I am having this problem: I'll be viewing photos in the gallery, and all of the sudden the photos go blank. There is just a gray square. I can flip from gray square to gray square -- no image shows. If I go back to the main gallery, it may or may not show pictures. There might just be gray squares, or all the pictures might be there. I have tried turning my phone off, then back on. The pictures will show up initially, but then when I start flipping through them, suddenly they turn to gray squares again. I have transferred the pictures to my computer, just to make sure they are saved somewhere. But can't figure out why they will show up and then turn to gray squares.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have updated my n8 to anna with all the required files. but after update i noticed that the gallery only shows the images that i have clicked with camera not other pics in the pictures folder. when i later moved those pics from pictures folder to camera folder i was able to see them in gallery. now this isnt convenient.

View 4 Replies View RelatedNokia N8 -- Belle Since updating to Belle, all my old videos I have filmed refuse to appear in teh normal Gallery. Any new videos I record go into teh Gallery as normal. Is there anyway to force teh gallery to rescan memory to fidn teh videos? It was fantastic having the videos and pictures in the same place sorted by date taken. Now it's just plain horrible. I thought about "syncing" the videos, backed up to my PC, to the phone using Nokia Suite, in the hope they would then appear in the Gallery, however it seems to insist on "transcoding" the videos! (Even though they were originally recorded on this phone!)

When I reboot, the phone claims it is scanning for new media, but the photos don't show up.

I do not remember what I did (I think rearranged the files on my memory card) but somehow I got pictures & videos to show up under PhotosNow that I have upgraded to Belle, once again only photos shows up in Gallery. Anyone know how to get videos to show up there as well? I do not like how the previews are so small in Videos & all the detailed info is unnecessary when I am browsing

View 4 Replies View Relatedtried installing the ms apps using a third party app since i saw it worked on other people's phones and i thought i would give it a shot i was wrong for about 3-4 days i've been scouring the internet trying to find a solution to the Home screen:feature not supported bug or whatever it is, but to no avail. I am starting to become a bit desperate as the gallery simply will not work no matter what i do, .jpgs wont open, and my phone has been handicapped in the most literal sense of the word. Also i've tried hard resetting twice but to no result. I've considered hacking the phone and installing a custom firmware but i didnt want to destroy the phone completely, and also waiting for the feature pack might take too long for me.

When I purchased the Photon they just slapped my old blackberry Sim card in and unfortunately the settings for the camera were such that 1300 photos later (of my 18 month old) I discovered all the photos taken since I've had the Photon are on the device and not the Sim card... problem is I've been unable to download to them via PC despite downloading the recommended drivers...can't get the computer to recognize the USB no matter what I do. Plan B was to use the Photo Portal...tried that today...via WiFi..28 minutes of downloading and got just ONE photo downloaded... PLEASE Help!! This is driving me crazy as I don't want to lose all the photos and videos of my little one due to a freak accident where the phone drops into the water etc...
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen i try to add photos to a new gallery, i receive the following: 'the application gallery (process.com.motorola.gallery) has stopped unexpectedly. pleae try again.' i have tried only selecting one photo to more, moved my photos from the external sd card to internal storage and get the same message every time. i've also searched several forums and see that the photon is not the only phone to suffer from this same issue, however i have found no fix to the problem.

I called Samsung and they had me search the phone in several places to look for the pictures with no luck. Has anyone lost pictures after an update? How to find my photos? View 10 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I take pictures and/or videos with my phone, I can't see the picture or video on my phone. I take a photo. The phone acts like it took a photo. I see a thumbnail initially. When I try to view it again, there is just an icon and the photo is gone. It will say it isn't viewable or a video isn't playable. Can't view them if I transfer them to my computer either. I don't understand what the problem is because sometimes it works just fine. I can still see old photos or videos. The formats are exactly the same as the old photos. I didn't change the settings.

I bought a Xoom so I could download at a faster speed (4G) but now can't figure how to save them and transfer them to my PC for burning. View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a motorola photon Q 4GLTE. Used to have the Samsung Moment. On this motorola I can take videos in HD 1080 or HD 720 and 3 other lower settings but none of them will send via text or email. Message says the file is to large and to use the Video MMS setting. I used that setting and the quality of the video is awful and the sound is almost inaudible. but it will send in a text. How can I send or convert my HD videos to mms and send them via text and email? Do I only have the option of the video MMS mode? If so....I would much rather have my samsung moment back. took much better pictures and sent high quality videos. I have searched high and low and went to a sprint repair store and there are no answers to my problem. The store said they are made like that and don't have good quality mms settings. I can't believe this is so. Is there an app or a setting to fix this problem
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since the ICS update, my gallery likes to not show the pictures that are on my phone. They were visible pre-ICS, but are now not. If I use a file manager I can see that they are still on my phone and even view them, but they refuse to pop up in my gallery. I have tried the unmounting and mounting of my SD card as I have seen people wiht similar problems do, but have had no success.
Is there a new folder that the pictures need to be moved to to be seen by the gallery app? I'm guessing no because they did occassionally show up after the update, but now won't at all. Still, worth asking.
