May 18, 2011When I open a pdf from a web page link I get a force close in the stock browser.I was able to open pdfs in Dolphin with a plug in but prefer the stock browser.

Motorola Xoom :: Unable To Open Links In Stock Browser
Aug 9, 2011Unable to open any web links from an app or gmail ....started to happen a few minutes ago..these links are embedded in a email or from an app like pulse etc. I have stock broswer and dolphin HD ...and I select which one to displayed when the browser selection pop up window comes up.
Now the selection popup window does not come at all...and the screen goes about 50% dark and when touched anywhere on the screen ...it comes to normal brightness...

Jun 1, 2011Is there anyone else who prefers some sites in full desktop view ie. ESPN? The stock browser User Agent is still accessible through about:debug but most sites are still redirected to a mobile version even when "Desktop" is selected. my favorite browser wont deliver a non-mobile view unless you select the UA as I-Pad. That can't be good. Anyway....all was well on my OG Droid and now I'm about to give up on this dilemma and just install DolphinHD or something.

Nov 14, 2011No matter if I've just rebooted my xoom or if It's been on for a while, whenever I decide to suft the web using the stock browser I have the ability to for maybe 5-10 minutes and then it will just randomly crash and I have to open it again. I'm not doing anything that could be considered memory or processor intensive.

Dec 7, 2011I recently got new Xoom tablet from my senior and I connected it to my Win 7 - 32 bit laptop via a USB cable and it says the device drivers are not installed.I have tried:
1) Enabling USB debugging mode
2) Downloading motohelp drivers from your site the latest one.
3) Switch my tablet on and off and on
4) Restart my machine couple of times.
5) Tried on all the available USB slots on my laptop.
6) Updating drivers via Device Manager ->Update driver.
7) Followed all other solutions which are mentioned on forums and internet.It worked on my Win 7 64 bit in my office but not even getting detected on my IBM T461 Win 7 32 bit laptop.I used USB cable ofmy HTC desire smart phone both times.

Aug 18, 2012For those of you who want to view websites in desktop mode on your mobile I would first recommend you just use Dolphin browser. They have an easy toggle add on that you can go back and forth between mobile and desktop modes very quickly. If you must have the stock Android browser I have a trick for you too. Open up stock browser, in the url type "about:debug" Nothing will appear to happen. Now press menu>More>Settings>(in debug area) UAString>Desktop. You may have to refresh the Page for the new settings to take effect. Now you are surfing in desktop mode!

Feb 19, 2012One of the main reasons I like the physical keyboard is the use of keyboard shortcuts. I noticed that two shortcuts conflict with each other in the stock browser. In a form field of a website, when I press the menu + v combination to paste text, it activates the "save pages" command instead. If you press menu -> more, there is a "save pages" option. Below that text it says "menu + v" which is the same shortcut for paste. However, when in text fields that are part of the browser app (ie. location bar and adding a bookmark) the paste shortcut works. It would be great if the "save pages" shortcut was changed to something else so I could paste text using the keyboard command.

Apr 21, 2011I received my shiny new 3G Xoom (MZ601) yesterday and decided to root it. I successfully unlocked the bootloader and then flashed the rootboot.img file. Unfortunately on rebooting it hung at the Motorola logo. I tried a couple of other boot images, such as Tiamat 1.3.1 and ocboot but all with the same result. Obviously something is different about the European 3G Xoom which makes these US boot images fail.
I managed to "sort of" recover using one of the stock US boot images (can't remember which one!) but my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are no longer working. What I would really like to do is revert to a completely stock MZ601 image. I see that the Verizon stock images are available on motodev but no mention of MZ601.
