Is there a setting in the browser that I am missing, or is this a known limitation of the current version of the browser? Is this something that Moto/Google have plans to fix, or is it the website I'm visiting that doesn't yet recognize my device?

View 15 Replies View RelatedNo matter if I've just rebooted my xoom or if It's been on for a while, whenever I decide to suft the web using the stock browser I have the ability to for maybe 5-10 minutes and then it will just randomly crash and I have to open it again. I'm not doing anything that could be considered memory or processor intensive.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUnable to open any web links from an app or gmail ....started to happen a few minutes ago..these links are embedded in a email or from an app like pulse etc. I have stock broswer and dolphin HD ...and I select which one to displayed when the browser selection pop up window comes up.
Now the selection popup window does not come at all...and the screen goes about 50% dark and when touched anywhere on the screen ...it comes to normal brightness...
Is there an Update to the stock keyboard or a setting change so we can hold down the delete key instead of a single press for every letter?

The stock browser User Agent is still accessible through about:debug but most sites are still redirected to a mobile version even when "Desktop" is selected. my favorite browser wont deliver a non-mobile view unless you select the UA as I-Pad. That can't be good. Anyway....all was well on my OG Droid and now I'm about to give up on this dilemma and just install DolphinHD or something.

View 10 Replies View RelatedOne of the main reasons I like the physical keyboard is the use of keyboard shortcuts. I noticed that two shortcuts conflict with each other in the stock browser. In a form field of a website, when I press the menu + v combination to paste text, it activates the "save pages" command instead. If you press menu -> more, there is a "save pages" option. Below that text it says "menu + v" which is the same shortcut for paste. However, when in text fields that are part of the browser app (ie. location bar and adding a bookmark) the paste shortcut works. It would be great if the "save pages" shortcut was changed to something else so I could paste text using the keyboard command.

NO ROOT is required and works on Xoom tablets running 3.2.x stock operating system. Select a file, select where you want to put it, and paste it there." Not knowing the exact difference between US and UK stock 3.2 do you think this will work on a UK stock 3.2 XOOM?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI received my shiny new 3G Xoom (MZ601) yesterday and decided to root it. I successfully unlocked the bootloader and then flashed the rootboot.img file. Unfortunately on rebooting it hung at the Motorola logo. I tried a couple of other boot images, such as Tiamat 1.3.1 and ocboot but all with the same result. Obviously something is different about the European 3G Xoom which makes these US boot images fail.
I managed to "sort of" recover using one of the stock US boot images (can't remember which one!) but my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are no longer working. What I would really like to do is revert to a completely stock MZ601 image. I see that the Verizon stock images are available on motodev but no mention of MZ601.
1 Engineer put the stock image (it should be ready) onto ftp: at most 3 hours1 IT to put it on the motodev file server: at most 1 hours

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am coming to the conclusion that the perfect browser for the XOOM does not exist.Dolphin HD seems to be using the same flakey rendering as the stock browser.Skyfire is also using the same flakey engine and I believe that is because Flash won't work with anything else.Opera is extremely stable but won't allow me to post on these forums and they have removed flash support because they cannot make it work right.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been trying out different types of internet browsers: the native version, opera, firefox, dolphin and skyfire.Reason being is because I am investigating the cause of the random reboots my device is facing.I've tried to reduce all settings: No bluetooth, removed syncing, no location information.Now the device is able to do most basic things and not experiencing any reboots. However as soon as I start web surfing it's just a matter of minutes before the whole tablet crashes.What web browser do you think (or know) will provide the most stable experience for the xoom 2?

Xoom tablet with Android 3.2.1 With the Xoom display horizontal, when you touch (click) some links in the browser the screen just goes dim and does nothing. If you then rotate the Xoom to cause it to display in the vertical mode you can then see the popup window and interact with it.Those popup windows are off the bottom of the screen when in horizontal display mode. Because the popup window has taken the focus away from the main page you cannot even scroll the page up to reveal the popup.It just seems like the Xoom browser has dimmed and frozen. An example link is if you do a Google search for a town, say Sheridan WY, and on the search results page touch (click) the result that shows a Google map of the town. The Xoom's browser will dim and nothing will happen. If you rotate the Xoom to vertical you ca then see the popup.

If I choose OK, market apps open and one can purchase the app.I do have the popup blocker set to enabled and have the the UA string set to Deskto. t's annoying, and you gotta pay for the tapatalk app too. Is there a way to block this pop up from happening?
