this has become a constant worry to me. i cannot upgrade my software from my device. except i download it on a desktop. please i would equally want to know the benefits of upgrading your software and the version that will well suite my device.

I can find the software to upgrade via desktop manager but i want to deploy this through our BES 5.0.1.also I have BES 4.16 which i am migrating the users onto the new BES via the transporter tool, but i've found our IT Policy creates issues with device version 4.3 and needs to be reactivated when migration is complete.So i would also like to upgrade the devices on the old BES before migrated them across.So is there a way of upgrading a device version from BES 4.1.6 if so could you also provide instructions? Is there any issues when upgrading device versions? would i need to resend the service book? it policy? re-activation?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am a noob so please forgive me ..i had a booting error yesterday where the red light stuck on with a black screen and i had to pull the battery (luckily for me it revived) sadly after it loaded i realized i lost all my contacts however this happened when my brother soft reset it when it was connected via usb to the pc so i guess some current interference buged the loading process.
Then today i soft reset my bold i got a white screen with app loader i believe 523 error reset or something, i cant quite remember but i think thats it however i hit either the end key or the enter key (sorry to so vague guys i got scared) ....after i pressed those buttons it began the reboot cycle ...loaded up and has been fine ever since..just wondering if you think i should upgrade my Os or just leave it i am on 4.6.0.162...
after i downgrade to 4.6,i can't upgrade back to 5.0 i've tried to download a 5.0 from blackberry.com or through applicant loader to upgrade ,but still can not upgrade to 5.0

OS ver 4.6.something.I want to know why the OS 5 upgrade is only for BIS subscribers and not common blackberry users?I mean we also paid the price for the phone and we also want most out of the bb. If blackberry considers the BIS subscribers the only customers then why sell the phones to others as well.
If blackberry want to decrease the number of bb admirers and users, then its a good step to limit the OS upgrade to only BIS users, otherwise whats the point of limiting the update to only BIS?Dont they want the blackberries to look and work cool, at least compared to other cellphone giants.

I upgraded my BB Appworld App on my Torch 9800, and when it told me that the device needed to be rebooted i selected reboot now, and the device will not reboot, it just starts and as the status bar creeps along it ultimately just goes back to attempting to reboot again. This goes on continuously. I have taken battery out and sd card and it still does the same thing.

And the only thing that displays is the Orange AT&T screen. How can I get the device to function again. I did a back up and a sync prior to the install.

I already try to download the device software from the list of provider (in this case, I use indosat, cause im in indonesia) and the site is under maintenance huff...when i giving up on upgrading my os, i try to upgrade my bbm to bbm 6 version.. then, my device reboot.. and its gone.. there's no bbm icon.. in my application management, there's blackberry messenger still in version 5, but when i try once again) download the new one from the web, it said "Already installed"
When upgrading yesterday the process never finished. After 3 hours the status bar was still in the same place in the reboot phase. It seemed as if the entire computer was frozen. I couldn't do anything on it. I had to reboot the computer.Now when the phone comes on it freezes at the ATT screen. I am sure it is because the process didn't complete. How do I complete the process?

I finally downloaded it, but when it got ready to install it the phone went into what I believe was recovery mode and said "teamwin," before opening up to a menu. I have tried the 5.1.1 version from UK, but that failed too just after a second of pressing Odin, what to do now.
Just attempted to upgrade to OS 5 and all was going well up until the phone re-booted, blackberry on the phones screen with a loading bar that stuck 3/4 the way for a good half hour, i disconnected, battery pulled and phone just wont load past 3/4. DM says it waiting for device to start?

However, after the upgrade I noticed that my memo pad and task data were cleared out which seems odd to me, because it spent a good chunk of time creating a backup, and after the update the core data, communication data, and calendar data remained intact. This is somewhat stressing because I had typed a few ideas out on my phone's memo pad and had not backed them up (slap on the hand for me), and now I no longer have access to them. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if this backup data might still exist?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade my Neo V to ICS android (4.0.2.a.0.62). While having the PCC on to latest version, and connect the mobile , software will identify it with no issues. I have been connecting both with MTP and MSC modes. The update starts, downloads from internet and prepares the laptop with no issue. When the sequence gives command to mobile to shutdown and start for the update then, I can hear the sound of reconnection, the led is green, on pc it find a new hardware (SEMC flash) and then freezes. I have tried with USB debug active and not with no difference.
I have tried with Unknown sources (under application) active and not with no difference. I tried the same in windows safe mode with the same result. I tried the Update service also and anytime I connect (press and hold menu or back key and then plug) freezes always. I removed any antivirus on mobile with no result. On PC when connected I can see on the device manager that the usb drivers are Microsoft ones. I have downloaded the Android SDK tools (including usb drivers) but as long as the process stucks on the Found new hardware, I cannot proceed further. I am running on WinXP Pro.
I have got Curve 9300 with OS v5.0.0.977. I am unable to receive anything using Bluetooth from the paired device but sending anything to other device is OK.

I accidentally deleted the Device Calendar from the Service Book menu. I left my e-mail address calendar that has all of my appointments in it. Now, when I try to sync with the desktop software and outlook, it will not process any calendar appointments. I have a BB Curve 8330.
