Jul 20, 2010I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 with a data plan and I recently did an OS upgrade using the update feature on the phone itself. However, after the upgrade I noticed that my memo pad and task data were cleared out which seems odd to me, because it spent a good chunk of time creating a backup, and after the update the core data, communication data, and calendar data remained intact. This is somewhat stressing because I had typed a few ideas out on my phone's memo pad and had not backed them up (slap on the hand for me), and now I no longer have access to them. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if this backup data might still exist?

Sep 5, 2010When upgrading yesterday the process never finished. After 3 hours the status bar was still in the same place in the reboot phase. It seemed as if the entire computer was frozen. I couldn't do anything on it. I had to reboot the computer.Now when the phone comes on it freezes at the ATT screen. I am sure it is because the process didn't complete. Jan 18, 2012I have had an SGS and now this week have an SGSII. When upgrading, the Android OS is a pain compared to other OS systems, in that is wipes all installed apps and configuration each time. Upgrade a version of Windows for example, and it does not lose all your config. Is there any app or restore method that will put everything you had installed and configured as it was? Otherwise it takes Hrs to get phone back to correct state each time.

I'm sure you are aware, syncing the iPhone with a new computer requires the data to be erased, but I'd like to retain my data, especially the game saves on my iPhone, angry birds etc.
So how would I go about doing this? Do I need to back up my iPhone on my PC, transfer the backup file and restore on the new mac?

Jun 30, 2010Does anyone have a weird issue of data dropping completely during the call? When I place a call the 3g icon disappears completely and nothing that requires data works until I hung up. Once I hang up the 3g service is restored pretty much instantly. Also the top of the phone where earpiece is gets very hot during the call. I called apple and they told me to come to the store and get a replacement. I just wanted to confirm if this problem is widespread as I will be getting the replacement from the same store. I guess it might be relevant - I am using a bumper case.
My girlfriend's phone (bought through vodafone rather than apple store) doesn't have this issue.
On another issue (or non-issue) I also noticed that my front camera is a lot less saturated that hers for some reason. When I place a facetime call and hold both phones together, the colors are very different . Hers is slightly over saturated and mine doesn't have any vibrancy to colors at all. Not sure what to make of it but there might be different sensors on iPhones (I remember reading somewhere that there is not enough production of 5mp sensors at any single factory)
