I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
When i get a new email from yahoo, and check it on the BB and after I read the email and delete it, it will not show up on my yahoo email when I check on my laptop. But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??
I was wondering if you could help, i've been searching the techincal support section and the forums and could someone point me in the right patch to upgrade blackberry handsets via BES v5. I can find the software to upgrade via desktop manager but i want to deploy this through our BES 5.0.1.also I have BES 4.16 which i am migrating the users onto the new BES via the transporter tool, but i've found our IT Policy creates issues with device version 4.3 and needs to be reactivated when migration is complete. So i would also like to upgrade the devices on the old BES before migrated them across. So is there a way of upgrading a device version from BES 4.1.6 if so could you also provide instructions? Is there any issues when upgrading device versions? would i need to resend the service book? it policy? re-activation?

I use a BlackBerry Curve 9300. I am having great difficulty downloading and running the version 6 Desktop Software. The software itself seems to downlaod quite successfully in about 30 minutes and a Desktop icon appears on my computer desktop. Each time I double click to open - run the programme an error message comes up as Follows"Desktop manager has encounterted a problem and needs to Close" sorry for the inconvenience etc.I have uninstalled and re-installed the programme more than once to no avail and I just cannot get the programme to run.I have seen a post/ posts where it was suggested that the way round this was to go into programe manager- locate and delete the folder" Research in motion" I have tried doing this- the folder is deleted it goes into the recycle bin and there is therefore no program to be opened- so something is not right here- maybe I am not reading the advice correctly.
If the Curve 8530 is considered an upgrade and on some features it truly is, like the Track pad v.s the trackball. So why is it lacking some normal basic features such as a flash on the camera or high quality mega-pixel camera as the other upgraded phones have? I am honestly curious as this is my first blackberry but I missed why these features were not included in the newer type model.
I'm very new to the world of Blackberry, but so far I love it. I'm going on a flight tomorrow night and would prefer my own entertainment, so I'm curious if anyone has tried ripping a DVD to the 8530 and if so were you successful. I'd appreciate any tips on making the process as painless as can be. I have a PC if that matters.
Is the quality of the device good? My concern is that it is CDMA and GSM. Will that make any difference in network speeds? I don't travel so SIM cards don't matter to me. Is it worth getting the Curve 8530 since it is CDMA?
I wanted to ask that When i want to download a cricket game on my BB directly from my mobile but i cant find it and as i go via Computer it is present but not in case of the mobile,WHY
I am trying to replace the screen for my 8520 but am a bit confused because the version number reads as 004/111/112 and I cant find anyone selling this version number anywhere. A lot of people are selling 004/005 so I was wondering if that version is compatible or not. If anyone has had the same problem or knows of a solution I would greatly appreciate any help.
With no internet or app usage my phone was to 30 percent after only a hour maybe a hour and half of usage. Not even close to the 4.5 hours of usage said. Complained to Verizon and getting the Tour 9630. Not too happy because i will be leaving the trackpad and i hear battery life on the tour is so so. I wanted the new bold but they wouldnt let me. But they said if my new phone gives me problems, then might get the bold. Either way i want a good phone with decent battery.
I just recently got a blackberry. I was wondering which desktop manager is best for the curve 8530 through sprint. because i see i can download older versions too. just wondering any input would be greatly appreciate.

What does It mean? I already get Blackberry ID so that everytime I update some software to Appliaction World, what will I do or what what is the best thing to do to I get back to Version 5.0?
Ever since I downloaded something like "Blackberry OS version 5" from the web, and updated my device using the desktop manager, I have been unable to download new apps.Somehow I managed to get BBM back on -- the phone would have been useless otherwise -- but no more apps will get downloaded.Everything seems to work, whether I download via the web, or use desktop manager to install the apps, there are no errors and it says it worked -- but there is no icon for the app in any of the folders. For example, BB App world: The desktop manager says it is installed, but it's not accessible because there is no icon anywhere. My carrier say they can't help me any further as it's a device issue.I have got "show all" on, so the icons are definitely not hidden.I have tried a battery pull dozens of times.I have tried a backup using desktop manager, then factory reset the device, then restored -- several times.I have tried uninstalling the apps through desktop manager and installing them again.I don't understand what settings are supposed to be changed after I do a factory reset and restore from backup.
Carrier: Orange Device: 8900 Platform: 4.3.0.23 App Version: 5.0.0.90 (91) File Free: 113507146 Is it possible version 5 doesn't work with Orange at all? Following the link to "Orange UK" on this page, I can see Orange does list v5 for download: URL...
An error has occurred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists. My internet connection is fine, both of my internet connections (phone, laptop).
I had upgraded to the new version 5.0 bundle 1168 and since then have lost some of the features from the prious version 2. The password keeper vault had a lot of information and I want to retrieve it. I have the Blackberry desktop software and have back up of the old data.Is it possible to keep the new version however have the information from the password keeper loaded into it.
I received an email message from Blackberry inviting me to upgrade my OS to 5.0.0.1, which I did wirelessly. At the end of the process, after the restart, I got a message that said "uncaught exception ....I pulled the battery and tried again a few times, but I kept getting the same message.I Goggled the error message and to my horror found hundreds of listing - most related to corruption errors! However, since my blackberry home screen appeared under the message warning, and it is supposedly a mission critical device and I need to work, I clicked ok and started to use my device again.
All seemed find until I noticed that some of my contacts were missing.Maybe about 10%. I determined that some of these missing contacts had been updated since my last back-up. Others had been on my BB for years.I decided to try and restore the address book from my last back-up.I launched my Desktop Manager 6.0.2 and tethered my Curve.First I backed up the "damaged contact list" as part of a full back up.All went well. Then I went to use a 2 week only back up file, that I made before the OS upgrade. But the address book field was dimmed. There were 4036 entries on the dimmed back up file. I had 4021 on my Curve, but many more than 15 were missing. Regardless, I couldn't restore because:
(Dimmed entries are data types that are read only . . . . )The only solutions to this problem I found via Google related to older OSes and devices and involved deleting service book entries which look nothing like the service book entries I found. Or, is simply a problem related to running a RIM application on a RIM device after an upgrade to one more "advanced" RIM OS from another RIM OS, at RIM's recommendation?
I have a curve 8520 w?4.6 operating system, but I noticed all the themes are for 5.0, can i upgrade on my own, or call T-Mobile??? What is the difference between the 2?
My wife recently purchased the 8530 curve, and I have the 8330. I was playing around with it and liked the view and some of the features that the new software has available (mainly the new clock that has 'bedside' options for use as an alarm clock and the look of the icons.). Does anyone know if the 8530 software can be run on the 8330 without issues?
How much Device memory should I have? I have a BB 8520 with 122277261 File Free. And when I check App World it says I have 116 MB left. I'm always scared of going under 110 MB. How much device memory should you have? Is it alright if I go under 110 MB in my device memory?
