I use a BlackBerry Curve 9300. I am having great difficulty downloading and running the version 6 Desktop Software. The software itself seems to downlaod quite successfully in about 30 minutes and a Desktop icon appears on my computer desktop. Each time I double click to open - run the programme an error message comes up as Follows"Desktop manager has encounterted a problem and needs to Close" sorry for the inconvenience etc.I have uninstalled and re-installed the programme more than once to no avail and I just cannot get the programme to run.I have seen a post/ posts where it was suggested that the way round this was to go into programe manager- locate and delete the folder" Research in motion" I have tried doing this- the folder is deleted it goes into the recycle bin and there is therefore no program to be opened- so something is not right here- maybe I am not reading the advice correctly.

When I got my 8520 curve v5 at christmas I set up my home e-mail addresses no problem.I tried to add another (work) address yesterday but I get an error message:Cannot Continue Your connection to the mobile network is turned on, but you are not in a wireless coverage area.
This is not true. I can send and receive calls, texts and email on my other accounts and go online. I tried it at several other locations but problem persists.The only change which has occured since I linked the first emails is that I ported in my old number.
I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
I cannot find the BB App World icon. I think it disappeared after I downloaded the latest version. I have deleted and re-downloaded. I have looked in every folder. I have downloaded and replaced the existing version. I have re-booted by taking the battery out, etc. The software is in my applications. I have gone through every folder clicking on show all also.
Switched from an iphone 5C to a Galaxy S5. I am now unable to receive text messages from my fellow iphone users. How do I resolve this issue? through iMessage possibly?
I am an embedded engineer so fairly ok with the tech. I have had my phone three days. It has lost the 32GB of memory and is relying upon a few MB to operate the OS but not enough for effective use.Following posts on the 'net and Maemo forums, I have attempted to reflash the the phone using both: RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin followed by:RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin I can get the FIASCO to flash but not the EMMC; I am using flasher-3.5 on a vista PC.I get "error code 1" from the attempt to flash the EMMC.I am still not certain that the is not something electrically faulty here too.Is there some way of wiping the lot and starting again?

I'm a new bb user, which has patiently waited 3weeks to get my new 9700.- which arrived today BUT, when I turn it on the progress line goes all the way to the right, and then nothing else happens. It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.

I have just received a "Blackberry Bold 9700 Unlocked International Version" which i purchased from Amazon.Com. "This is supposed to be a new unbranded unit".
The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.

I was about to download Opera Mini 4.2 for my Bold 9700 w/ 5.0 firmware. Opera's website doesn't show a version for the 9700 so I was going to download the version for the 9000. The only problem is the 9000 version doesn't have the 5.0 firmware option available. What version are you guys using on your 9700's?
I am having trouble downloading the facebook app to my blackberry curve. I have tried a large number of times to download it through the app world and online on my phone, however it always takes me to the same page including reviews, summary and screenshot of facebook for blackberry. From here I cannot find a way to complete the download and it often freezes on this page for a long period of time.
Im trying to downgrade my os on my 8330 from the 4.5 to the 4.3 version but when i try and load the 4.3 version it tell me that the version is not on my desktop manager.
tried downloading upgrade to OS 7.1, but my BB 9360 stuck in backup, it doesn't work, I can't use DM either, it doesn't connect to the BB, I don't really know what to do, everything I've tried is useless. I tried an hard reset but each time it starts over the backup and it stops on 14%...
I was connecting my 8310 to my PC using BB Desktop Manager using USB and was told there was new software for my device available for download. So I started the download and when it was about halfway it stopped and would not continue. After a long time I gave up and tried reconnecting the device to my PC and the PC said it did not recognize my BB. My BB no longer functions and just sits with a red light flashing I think it has blown its brains. What options do i have?

I have received 2 update notifications from FB but each time I have tried to download the new version I get the following error message Facebook is not available from Blackberry App World. I have tried downloading straight from fb but each time I manage to log into my app world account accept the terms and conditions then after a 1 minute of showing facebook downloading that error message appears.
