Im trying to downgrade my os on my 8330 from the 4.5 to the 4.3 version but when i try and load the 4.3 version it tell me that the version is not on my desktop manager.
View 9 RepliesWhat's the most recent Desktop Manager Version that had built-in support for rolling back your OS (i.e. it detects all OS versions installed on your system & lets you pick the one you want, even if it's a downgrade) and where can I download the install files? I just found out the hard way that DM 6.1 does NOT seem to give you that option, so I had to reinstall an old Version 5.0 build that's like a year and a half old... which I'm happy to keep using, if that's what I have to do. But is there a newer version of DM that still has that functionality? Using the Apploader program WITHOUT Desktop Manager does NOT work well for me, as it ONLY installs the newest OS version present on your machine, which has resulted in OS 6.0 getting installed against my wishes, thus wasting the time spent on the install (installing OS 6.0 on a BlackBerry 9700 is a monumentally bad idea and I can't recommend it to anyone! ) Thus, I need a version of Desktop Manager that supports rolling back to an earlier OS.

I am using the Blackberry 8900 Curve with Vodafone.
Like everyone else, I could not synchronise my blackberry with Outlook 2010 and was told to wait until August for version 6 of Desktop Manager.
I just installed it! But when I tried to launch Desktop Manager is simply says "Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and then I get " Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
I un-installed and reinstalled. No change.
Prior to downloading version 6 I had downloaded and installed version 5 with Service Pack - the file name was 501_b049_multilanguage. That one installed and launched but there was NO WAY to synchronise Blackberry Curve 8900 with Outlook 2010!
My PC is brand new and "TOTALLY CLEAN" of any special install. The only application running on this laptop other than Microsoft Windows 7 (32 bit) and Microsoft Office 2010 (including Outlook 2010) are McAfee (which I disabled to ensure this was not the reason desktop manager would not work!) and an HP all in one printer!
IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE MONTH since Microsoft launched Outlook 2010, not sure what the issue is but both Desktop Manager 5 and Desktop Manager 6 have VERY SERIOUS ISSUES which should have been screened through QA.
I just recently got a blackberry. I was wondering which desktop manager is best for the curve 8530 through sprint. because i see i can download older versions too. just wondering any input would be greatly appreciate.

I am running windows xp-64 bit and I have a bb curve 8310 with ATT.
I just loaded up the Desktop Manager from Blackberry's website but when I click on the icon to start it I get the attached message. I also loaded the software from the CD in the box with the same result.I can't do anything from here. Saving the file Desktop doesn't fix it. If I click on Find I get a message saying the filetype htmlfile is not found.

Opera's website doesn't show a version for the 9700 so I was going to download the version for the 9000. The only problem is the 9000 version doesn't have the 5.0 firmware option available. I was unable to get DTM 6 to recognize my BB Curve 8330, so decided to go back to version 5.0.1, which had been working flawlessly. Unfortunately, I have been unable to uninstall 6.0, and keep getting Error 1316.I have looked up all the previous responses to this error, and followed the directions given - have done the clean uninstall as described in KB02206, even doing the "Additional Information" at the bottom of that article, without success. I still show both Blackberry Desktop Managers in the Programs list, but the Control Panel does not recognize them as programs, so I can't uninstall them. I even tried to reinstall version 5.0.1 despite this with no success - same error. I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit with all the critical updates installed. I was using Trend Micro Internet Security initially, but recently switched to BitDefender. I have lots of hard drive space, and have 4 Gb Ram with a Dual core processor.I really hope someone can help me with this. I'm getting more concerned by the day as I have no recent backup of my Life!

Phone is plugged in, computer asks if i want to update, I click yes, computer downloads the new software (25-35 min) but when it starts to transfer to phone an error message pops up saying that the network has timed out. I just got a N1520 last week, but it will not load up desktop version on IE on many sites even thought I have it set in the settings to do so.
What I do not understand is my N920 with a smaller display, and not really the hardware or storage of the N1520 always loads the desktop version every time.
I have tried severial times to move one picture. I have have tried using My Pictures/picture project/blackberry as the source. but all it wants to do is send all 4,000 pictures on my laptop to the chip.

Every time I access the [URL] website and enter my login name and password and submit, I repeatedly get the same page again and again which asks me to verify my password. There seems to be a software error in the Lumia 800. I have contacted the Nokia helpline which was unhelpful as usual. This time, they informed me that this error IS possible while accessing Yahoo email thru the browser and that no solution is possible. The only suggestion they had was to use the synchronization method to access the Yahoo mailbox - but this solution is not feasible for either accessing the older emails and or for sending file attachments.
