BB Desktop Software :: 8310 - Desktop Manager Will Not Load
Jan 13, 2010Each time I attempt to load the program, it locks up and the new window is shaded in grey. Cant open any options or click any icons. I followed the instructions for a clean install (twice) and downloaded the latest version of desktop manager.
I am running windows xp-64 bit and I have a bb curve 8310 with ATT.

May 26, 2010I just loaded up the Desktop Manager from Blackberry's website but when I click on the icon to start it I get the attached message. I also loaded the software from the CD in the box with the same result.I can't do anything from here. Saving the file Desktop doesn't fix it. If I click on Find I get a message saying the filetype htmlfile is not found.

PC OS: Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit SP2
Desktop Manager Version: 5.0.1.18 (installed from CD)
Installation of the DM went through fine. When it is started up, the following message is displayed:
"Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer."
When I connect the device to the computer via USB cable, DM is forced to close.

Feb 4, 2010I type in my password which I know to be correct, or I'd have been locked out of it a long time ago, and it just keeps popping up. I can't back up my device or anything with the PC. What gives? Is it looking for a different password?

Apr 23, 2010I switched data from my old device Storm 9500 to my new device BB bold 9700 using the newest BB desktop manager. After data got switched I got a small popup asking me do i want to delete data from my old blackberry.... I said yes (why not)... So my new bold 9700 got wiped ?! somehow.
After i used the auto backup file created which had data from the Storm device to "restore" data to bold 9700 once again it just got the ipd backup file which had loads of messages..... overwritten and i lost the data from the Storm entirely. Can i get it back anyhow. I tried some undelete software... but no luck so far... appart from recovering a few images...

May 17, 2010It seems like to load any app into my BB storm 2 device you need an active internet connection in your device. I don't have internet surfing facility in my mobile. The plan I am in with my carrier allows unlimited mails and chat. Is there any way I could load apps through my PC into my device. Most apps that I tried won't allow this, they need the app link to be clicked from the device rather than from a PC?

Apr 17, 2015I am trying to locate my LG G3 using ADM. I have already enabled High Accuracy settings but the ADM app on my tablet still says "Unavailable". I have Samsung N2 and N3 that can be located but not the G3. I tried to use the Mcafee Mobile Security which is the built-in AV and it was able to find my phone. I also checked that both Mcafee and ADM are device admins.

May 1, 2010I have a Blackberry 9700 phone which has been working fine up until today when I decided to load the "Blackberry User Tools" software onto my P.C. at home. After successful installation and machine restart, I was asked to enter my "Device Password". Assuming this would be my password I set originally to lock my phone I entered it and found this didn't work. I subsequently attempted a number of other logical permutations but then realised that if I continued I would lock my phone. So I stopped (at 8/10 tries) and called my service provider "Orange UK" who advised they couldn't help me and that if I continued to enter the incorrect code, it would wipe my phone as it would automatically reset!When I connected via USB last time, it asked for me to enter the word "blackberry" which I did but when it then asked me to enter my password (which I assumed was the four digit numerical code I had originally set the phone with) it failed to work. I am now left with two further attempts. Please can anyone assist by advising me what I can do to overcome the problem without wiping my phone as the contents are very important to me.

Jul 17, 2010About 3 weeks ago I had to switch from a Curve to the 9700. I used the switch device wizard to do this with no problems on my home laptop. Since then I have backed up the 9700 to my laptop but when I went to do this today, the device is not recognized by my laptop. I have tried just about everything with no luck. I thought the issue may be my cable and/or USB port but I actually connected my old Curve to the laptop and it immediately was recognized. I also have been synching the 9700 on my work PC and drove into the office today to see if I could do so..it worked without any problems. I am therefore not sure by the 9700 won't now connect to my laptop. Any ideas from anyone as to what I should be doing or what the problem is? I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager application twice thinking that may be the problem but it has not resolved the issue. As an aside, I have gotten a message appearing on the 9700 saying that the USB connection does not have sufficient power to charge the device. I then acknowledge the message and it shows it is charging so I am not sure what that is...

I bought a new blackberry, installed the OS from the Black Berry Website, but the desktop manager had no applications on it. My blackberry did not have blackberry messenger and notepad/memopad. I was able to download blackberry messenger, and that does show up on my desktop manager now, but I haven't found a notepad/memopad to download. Can anyone offer suggestions as to how I can get a notepad on my blackberry?

I have been checking Android Device Manager periodically in case it is powered on, and the last search showed that the phone is currently unavailable, but the last online date changed to 07/01...it doesn't say where the phone was when it was powered on on this date though, so I am wondering if there is a way to find this out.

After installation, i plug the blackberry using the usb into my laptop (windows 7) and it says Device Manager has stopped working and wants me to close the program. Mar 25, 2015I currently have an unlocked Nexus 6 running latest build of 5.1 on Verizon right now since Sunday. However I can't get the Nexus to show in my Android Device Manager. The Nexus does show in Google Play. I have cleared cache and data from Device Manager app, I have uninstalled and re installed Device Manager as well. I have went into Google settings>Security and toggled on and off "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". I have powered down and on this device several times. I have removed my Google account and then resigned back into the account. I just can't think of anything else to do. I have searched online for this problem and have done everything that was told to me. I am hoping not to factory reset the device but if its the last result, I may not have a choose.
P.S. Is there a setting that I'm missing that has either Gmail or Inbox app retrieve emails quicker. It doesn't seem to be refreshing or pushing the emails to my phone very often. I have missed couple very important emails because of this. Not sure if its a related problem with the device manager situtation (doubt it).

I have Android Device Manager enabled as an administrator in the phone settings, and I don't see much in the way of settings on the site.

Jan 5, 2010I just got this Blackberry on Dec 31, '09.I installed the DM software from the CD and now I was going to attempt to synchronize my phone with the desktop for the first time.When I plugged the phone in to the PC, it immediately said there were updates available and I just kept hitting Next until it apparently started the 12-step update process.Now my PC has been sitting at the download step (Step 3 of 12) downloading the same module for over 30 minutes now.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
