In the past i have used microsoft office to sync my contacts and calendar with my phone but just recently it will not sync my calendar. It only syncs my contacts. Its quite frusturating. Right now I have a Dell vostro 1510 running Windows 7 64 bit with microsoft office 2007.

I have tried this on a system running XP, office 2007 and BB DTM 4.7 & 5.01 and have had the same error, every-time.

Aug 22, 2010I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?

May 17, 2010I've got a BB9700, Bold 2.At home, Outlook, it syncs happily. At work, with Lotus Notes, it crashed when "updating the devide calendar". There was no issue a few months ago doing exactly the same thing.I'm not sure if it's related, but for some stupid reason I installed Facebook and accidently got the calendar to sync with facebook. I have now removed all entries for the Facebook calendar and al the Service book for Facebook calendar, so it now doesn't appear anywhere.
Facebook is blocked by works firewall, so I therefore assumed that was the problem, hence deleting all my calendar entries associated to Facebook.I've tried syncing with both Bluetooth and the cable.

Uninstalled and tried 3 times now but keep getting the same message.

Jun 18, 2010At work, we use Novell Groupwise. Calendar syncs fine, but BB Desktop Manager crashes when I sync addresses. I can load one-way from the computer to the BB, but not the other way. I may have a corrupt address, but haven't been able to get it all to work. What do I do to stop this?

Aug 9, 2010I am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
BB Bold :: Cannot Sync 9900 With Microsoft Office
Jun 4, 2012I've been working on this now (i.e., researching blogs, google, etc.) for hours and it is NOT going well! I have a new Blackberry Bold 9900 that I need to sync with MS Office Outlook 2007, particularly the contacts and calendar. I am using OS7.1 Bundle 921 (v 7.1.0.267 Platform 5.1.0.230) and Desktop Manager. The config setting in DM for Contacts Account shows only Windows Contacts, with no option to change to Outlook. When I then attempt to sync, the process wants to add all the contacts in my BB to some unknown address book on the computer. My BB shows my BB contacts as "default", whatever that is. My frustration is mounting exponentially. I am a converted iPhone user that really wants to give RIM a chance, but this isn't going so well.

Jun 8, 2010I have a Blackberry 8330 curve that was purchased in October 2008.I loaded the Desktop Manager software from the disk that came with the phone. For a long while I was able to synche my calendar on the phone along with tasks, addresses,etc to outlook. Occasionally after finishing an error box would come up the Blackberry had detected an error and did I want to report it. I closed out the box since I was done working. About a week ago I was no longer able to synch and this error box would come up immediately. I have tried removing the software and downloading the version 5.0 software, hard re-setting the phone (which almost worked). I have updated to Internet Explorer 8 but this problem occured earlier as well.Last night I was able to back-up the device and set synchronization settings after the hard reset of the phone but now I cannot do anything. Desktop Manager opens fine, connects to my blackberry fine but as soon as I hit "Synch" it pops up the error message and whether I hit debug, don't send a report or send a report it closes me out completely.

But when copying it to my computer and trying to open it, up flashes a Microsoft Office File Validation security alert, saying that a problem has been detected in trying to open the file and that opening it is probably dangerous and may allow a malicious user to take over my computer.I'm aware that there are issues with MOFV over reading some file formats -- has anyone come across this? Is it that MOFV can't read Polaris files, or is there the possibility of something sinister going on? I've run two different antivirus programme scans (installed on two different computers) on this file, which haven't flagged anything.

Sep 1, 2010Since my computer automatically downloaded and installed DTM 6.0, I have had nothing but problems. I was unable to get DTM 6 to recognize my BB Curve 8330, so decided to go back to version 5.0.1, which had been working flawlessly. Unfortunately, I have been unable to uninstall 6.0, and keep getting Error 1316.I have looked up all the previous responses to this error, and followed the directions given - have done the clean uninstall as described in KB02206, even doing the "Additional Information" at the bottom of that article, without success. I still show both Blackberry Desktop Managers in the Programs list, but the Control Panel does not recognize them as programs, so I can't uninstall them. I even tried to reinstall version 5.0.1 despite this with no success - same error. I am running Windows Vista, 64 bit with all the critical updates installed. I was using Trend Micro Internet Security initially, but recently switched to BitDefender. I have lots of hard drive space, and have 4 Gb Ram with a Dual core processor.I really hope someone can help me with this. I'm getting more concerned by the day as I have no recent backup of my Life!

RIM :: Most Recent Desktop Manager Version That Supports OS Rollback?
Dec 12, 2011What's the most recent Desktop Manager Version that had built-in support for rolling back your OS (i.e. it detects all OS versions installed on your system & lets you pick the one you want, even if it's a downgrade) and where can I download the install files? I just found out the hard way that DM 6.1 does NOT seem to give you that option, so I had to reinstall an old Version 5.0 build that's like a year and a half old... which I'm happy to keep using, if that's what I have to do. But is there a newer version of DM that still has that functionality? Using the Apploader program WITHOUT Desktop Manager does NOT work well for me, as it ONLY installs the newest OS version present on your machine, which has resulted in OS 6.0 getting installed against my wishes, thus wasting the time spent on the install (installing OS 6.0 on a BlackBerry 9700 is a monumentally bad idea and I can't recommend it to anyone! ) Thus, I need a version of Desktop Manager that supports rolling back to an earlier OS.

Aug 14, 2010I have just bought a new laptop (Sony Vaio running Windows 7 and Microsoft Outlook 2010).
I am using the Blackberry 8900 Curve with Vodafone.
Like everyone else, I could not synchronise my blackberry with Outlook 2010 and was told to wait until August for version 6 of Desktop Manager.
I just installed it! But when I tried to launch Desktop Manager is simply says "Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" and then I get " Blackberry desktop software has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".
I un-installed and reinstalled. No change.
Prior to downloading version 6 I had downloaded and installed version 5 with Service Pack - the file name was 501_b049_multilanguage. That one installed and launched but there was NO WAY to synchronise Blackberry Curve 8900 with Outlook 2010!
My PC is brand new and "TOTALLY CLEAN" of any special install. The only application running on this laptop other than Microsoft Windows 7 (32 bit) and Microsoft Office 2010 (including Outlook 2010) are McAfee (which I disabled to ensure this was not the reason desktop manager would not work!) and an HP all in one printer!
IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE MONTH since Microsoft launched Outlook 2010, not sure what the issue is but both Desktop Manager 5 and Desktop Manager 6 have VERY SERIOUS ISSUES which should have been screened through QA.
