I'm trying to add birthdays to some of my contacts, but it seems impossible to go earlier than the year 1960. Is there any solution? Not everyone is younger than the age of 50, you know.

My husband's Droid Turbo: For some reason, he is forced to enter a year and that messes with the Birthdays Calendar on his google account. Birthdays entered on his contacts do not display ever year on his calendar.
Question: How do we remove the year requirement and get his screen to look like mine?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a new bb user, which has patiently waited 3weeks to get my new 9700.- which arrived today BUT, when I turn it on the progress line goes all the way to the right, and then nothing else happens. It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.
Called the web-shop I bought it from, and they say I have to return it, and wait for them to have a look at it..usually 2-4 weeks.Is there anything I can do?
When I add a birthday to a BB contact it shows the birthday as spanning 2 days. Is there anyway to correct this?

However, when I try to add an email account now, by clicking "Setup" and then "Email Account" and then "Internet Mail Account", I am kicked back to the "Setup" folder. I never get to the "Email Setup" screen where you select your provider.

View 8 Replies View RelatedPlease help-I have the Bold 9700 TMOBILE When I go to compose sms text I can add multiple people, but if you go to a contact and hit compose sms you can't hit menu and add any more people, but on my old curve when you hit menu you could add recipients? Is there a way to fix that it's bothersome, and also sometimes with the sms on a particular person it won't reply to them you just hit the button and it does nothing, but if you clear the chat, and start over it works? Please help thanks. I have the newest version and software as well thanks.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI was always the frustrated one, seeing leaked OS, but if I want to play with it, I had to sacrifice Chinese reading/writing ability. Well a bit of research got me into finally figuring out how to actually insert Chinese/Other Languages capability into any OS (especially leaked ones!). Mind you this is only for BB 9700. It's actually easier than I think =) Anyway, there are two ways to doing it. Installing it as a separate add-on (Simillar to BB Maps / Password Keeper type RIM app), or installing it with the OS. 100% sure the OS method works, .alx via app loader through DM seems to be a little buggy, still testing.

I've noticed a couple issues when sending a text message to multiple people. On my old curve, I could hit the menu button, click "add TO", choose a contact, and thats it, simple. But on my Bold, I have to click, "Show recipients", and add another recipient. Now, the problem arises when i want to send it to only one more person. I choose the person and it has the next option for recipient open, which is blank cause im not choosing anyone else. I hit "ok", and it does nothing. I hit "ok" again and when i send the message, its sent duplicate messages, meaning each person gets the message twice. Same thing happens when forwarding. Id choose the person i want to forward the message to, but when I hit "ok" it doesnt do anything, so i have to hit it again and it adds the one contact twice. Anybody know how to fix this issue? Or is this just a common glitch that hasnt been fixed yet?

If the email client does not leave email messages on the server, the BlackBerry(R) Internet Service may not be able to deliver them to your BlackBerry(R) device. 1. In your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) on your computer, under Tools or Mail > Preferences.
2. Select your email account.

For about a week my phone has been adding extra periods and spaces when I press the space bar. This has been happening with SMS, MMS and email. I knw about that short-cut (press the space bar twice to enter periods) but its doing that after almost every word. I have changed the sensitivity to the lowest setting possible but it continues to do it, even when i text slow. Not sure as to what I should do.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems accessing any websites at all.I'm on the 3 network and can access all of their own free to browse stuff, but when i try to access social networking or BBC sites or anything else, it shows a message saying 'unable to connect please try again later'.I really don't know what the issue is, and after contacting 3 they aren't filling me with confidence that they know either.Also i do not have the option of adding my existing gmail account to my blackberry.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
I saw a few sync issues with third party softwares doing a search, but could not find my issue.I don't sync my mobile with any third-party software such as Microsoft Exchange or anything.
But I entered birthdays an anniversaries in the contacts.For instance, I create a new contact, his name's Bob.
"Add detail" ; birthday, say 09/07/1990.
On my oooold Nokia 3200, tomorrow, I would have a reminder in the calendar (it would even say Bob's 20, but I saw in my search that this was no longer available)
On my E71, nothing. If I entered a birthdate in the contact, maybe it means I suck at remembering the dates.If I used a downloaded App on the Ovi store, I would understand, maybe DLed apps don't have access to the contact data. But here I use the Nokia Calendar, and the Nokia contacts.Is it just me? Did I forgot to set something? Am I asking to much? (Come on, a 3200 could...)
I have just bought a new blackberry curve and transferred my contacts from a Sony Ericsson. Their birthday information was transferred too but this hasn't sync to my calendar or I cannot set reminders in the contacts folder.Is there a way to sort this out or an app that actually works?

I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
The contacts in outlook have only my new contact info (1 contact) and the desktop and wireless software want to synchronize with this folder. The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that my bold 9700 is restarting on its own , then the screen become white with writing JVM error 503, I search the internet to find out what happen, but few second later the phone rebooted own its own.
so i cross my finger while it was doing it. to my relieve it starts ok. But after few hours when i want to call somebody on my phone book, to my horror, the whole contacts on the address book are gone, not even 1 left, it’s totally empty. bbm, notepad, email, bookmarks, sms are fine , nothing is missing only the contacts are gone, and I’m now overseas for company meeting, and i didn’t bring any backup file with me, I’ve been a maniac for smart phones, i used Symbian, IPhone, android, winMo, etc and NONE of them ever give me such a problem out of no where, my 2000+ contacts are gone. And no I didn’t install or do anything to my phone since few weeks, cause I’m on my business trip.
is there any solution to my problem? I’ve tried sending service book bust doesn’t seem to help. Seriously, if Any of RIM employee or designer happens to see this post, i got question for you. This supposed to be a business phone, and now all my business contacts are gone.
